Man I miss riding this one!!- I rode it shortly after it opened back in '78(exposing my age here!). Wondering if the illuminated "monster" is still projected on the left wall inside the cave(just near the exit). I remember they had a cool themed "Loch Explorer's" set-up at the cue/line area before boarding- complete with a "Future Home Of 'Nesie" steel water tank.

I would suggest Apollo's Chariot. It is definitely a good first timer. It is very smooth, and despite it being one of the largest coasters there, it is actually not too bad.

This isn't Florida, this is Virginia. There are two Busch Gardens. This is Busch Gardens Williamsburg. But to answer your question, no, you are not supposed to take anything ont he ride that you can lose, and potentially injure yourself or another rider.

This was my second roller coaster. First was Drachen Fire. I liked it better but I guess we know which one is still alive.

Haven't been on this one, but was on the Griffon. I was next in line when the people before us told us they got stuck somewhere in the air--that ain't good!! I decided not to get on. I may have waited 45 minutes to get to this ride, but gettin stuck up there? No thanks! hehe!

They've ran strobe lights and scary pictures/colors and stuff in the tunnels before. Riding at night is the best time. The Loch Ness was the FIRST coaster with a loop in it that I ever rode. That was July 4 of 1990. *memories....tear*
