Autism is a neurological disorder that affect the nervous system. Those with it are, generally, either very sensitive or under sensitive to stimuli (hearing, smell, and touch are most obvious, but taste and vision are also effected).

This also effect how information is processed. In most cases, though with autism or asperger's learn easily, but this is not universal.

It can not be cured, as it is the neurons that are affected.

The only cure would be killing the neurons, then regrowing them!

Had this successful proceedure been from Embryonic Stem Cells, the NEWS would have been all over it. But, since the proceedure was using Adult Stem Cells, the NEWS doesn't want to hear about the success.
