I was lucky enough to visit Abbey Roads studios a few years back and wonder "if only those walls could talk". The Beatles were masters of their craft; Paul's bass lines are awesome, Harrison and Lennon play the needed melody lines and rhythm; Ringo was not a banger of the drums (like some many today) but a musician. The vocals and harmonies were perfect for each song. Listen to Sgt. Pepper and you will soon realize that each song was crafted, not just recorded. Like a artist and his sculpture.
