Started with af in 2007 I was just 37 , would not wish af on anyone . I can't tell you how frightening this disease is . living with it from day to day. If you discover you have af seek specialist help . Research it ,find a specialist ,do not be referred to cardiologist who does not specialise in af. I had a full ablation 6 months after being diagnosed although I still get odd beats now and then I have a future to look forward to .a future where af does not run my life.

@martyn1215 I am a healthy 35 year old female. Ive had just 4 AF attacks in 6 months and am being considered for a ablation. They have new laser technology now, but I am still a little worried. Please could you advise me of anything that might help, would be so grateful. I feel a bit alone and scared. Many thanks

I have just had a successful ablation for AF and my world is now completely different. I had LONE AF for over 2 years, I knew that I needed an ablation while still paroxismal yet it took 2 years to get to an agressive cardioligist, all the while knowing it the AF was progressing to permanent and as such diminishing the chances of success.
