This just goes to show imperial guard are tougher. these guys are given combat armor, the best guns in the galaxy, and amazing training. Guardsmen are given a flashlight, two large sholder plates, a hat, and basic training. Yet guardsmen still get the job done.

Even with the given facts you said, if guardsmen (for example Cadians, known for their dicepline) see a horde of 10ft tall orks charging strait at them they hold formation and fight (and probably die) in the name of the God Emperor and their commanding officers. i personally think SM would in ranged combat vs terrans and spartans with bolters that fire explosive bolts but in close combat SM are stronger but less mobile than spartans so if a SM got a hold of the spartan its over for the spartan but if a spartan got on an SM's back he could win but in close combat an assault marine a spartan would definately lose and they would both own terrans either way so both SM and spartans

No, butthurt fans of all the series mentioned in these video comments are everywhere. Just happens to be 40k ones the numerous. Matt Ward ones, specifically. Indeed, a Space Marine would slaughter a majority of opponents from both mentioned universes. Yes, a SPARTAN can slaughter lots of guardsmen. Yes, a SC marine with power armor could probably withstand a multitude of attacks from Halo marines. Too bad they will all never meet together officially in one place, you wankers.
Well Terran marines came first... Only real diff is that 40k Marines have guns that fire fuckin rockets instead of bullets and have better armor otherwise they are pretty much level with terran marines. Although I call BS on terran marines auto having 40k marines get grafted into them.
Lastly halo 1 marines pwned most other forms of marines out there and would not shoot a wall and have the ricochet kill them like center human players I know...

@DarkWolfe117 um dude the Space Marines are genetically enhanced as well but in their case they are infused with the gene seed of a demi god depending on the chapter of SM u get diffrent demi god genes added which gives u diffrent abilitys to each. In the case of the blood ravens u get a large amount of psykers so think spartan crossed with a starcraft ghost thats taller and stronger out of armor has extremely fast regeneration and secondary vital organs so if 1 gets hit they can keep fighting

Funny how this vid with the terran marine looks so bad ass when all he is the lowest of the lowest grunt. Even in starcraft this guy cost 50 minerals and is considered one of the weakest starting units in the game.
Space marines however are handpicked by their chapters, only a very narrow few is judged fit to join the great chapters. We are talking a few thousands outta billions. each time they recruit... Each spacemarine is considered by lore to be equal of 100 of soldiers
Warhammer has the table top and starcraft has the computers, sure they are similar we might as well say that both took ideas from something that has exsisted just like everything else in the world, but the fact is they are both fucking cool and you get to kill a lot of shit no matter which game you play. But i do have to say that the zerg and protoss are cooler than their 40k counter parts (Tyranids and eldar......especially eldar, silly space clowns and their stupid effective tactics.)

honestly, why are you arguing? it is clear that Blizzard was heavily influenced by W40k when they made Starcraft. Copy or not, Starcraft means the all time NUMBER 1 RTS game (at least for me, and im sure im not alone with the feeling). both titles are classics, not just because of the design concept, but because of the story behind both titles.

Chances are both have inspired each other, for example the Zerg were a much less cartoon version of the original tyranid, then GW seen the Zerg and went Ah thats pretty cool and done a redesign. Have a look at the Carnifex before Starcraft was released then look at a 3rd edition+ one and you'll notice similarity and differences. The Carnifex talons are not unlike that on the Ultralisk then the Chitinous plate on the newer Carnifex is inspired by the Ultralisk
wh40k is way too epic to be based on something...if it was based on something else (and so wh40k would be only a bad copy of that), believe me i would worship it...wh40k is the shit and will be!
Blizzard started making a game based upon Games Workshop intellectual property. After being denied permission by GW to use their IP Blizzard relabeled the names of a few things and released it anyways. Starcraft is a fairly blatant rip off of Warhammer 40k.

Spartans do have shields...because they need them ;P SM don't! Rockets demolish Spartan shields too fast. Bolters are mini rockets. With knockback power.
You know, the SC series may not be too creative, but it's like, what? S. Korea's national sport, so it's got a huge monetary advantage on 40k. But Halo is probably worth more than SC, since it seems as if 75% of America has played it.
Even in fluff W40k have better marines....

Terrain marine life expectancy = 3.2 1/2 seconds on battle field. With medic = 3.4 1/4 seconds. Warhammer 40k marine life expectancy = for ever. Halo marine life expectancy = none.

the SC space marine and the HALO marines are the equivalent of the imperial guard, plentiful and expendable.
HALO spartans however are elite units, try taking them on.
there isn't any elite units in the Terran army besides machines, the other two however do.
would love to see the imperial guard square off against either of their counter parts, they might live longer then a heart beat.

@DarkWolfe117 um dude the Space Marines are genetically enhanced as well but in their case they are infused with the gene seed of a demi god depending on the chapter of SM u get diffrent demi god genes added which gives u diffrent abilitys to each. In the case of the blood ravens u get a large amount of psykers so think spartan crossed with a starcraft ghost thats taller and stronger out of armor has extremely fast regeneration and secondary vital organs so if 1 gets hit they can keep fighting

Funny how this vid with the terran marine looks so bad ass when all he is the lowest of the lowest grunt. Even in starcraft this guy cost 50 minerals and is considered one of the weakest starting units in the game.
Space marines however are handpicked by their chapters, only a very narrow few is judged fit to join the great chapters. We are talking a few thousands outta billions. each time they recruit... Each spacemarine is considered by lore to be equal of 100 of soldiers

Warhammer has the table top and starcraft has the computers, sure they are similar we might as well say that both took ideas from something that has exsisted just like everything else in the world, but the fact is they are both fucking cool and you get to kill a lot of shit no matter which game you play. But i do have to say that the zerg and protoss are cooler than their 40k counter parts (Tyranids and eldar......especially eldar, silly space clowns and their stupid effective tactics.)

honestly, why are you arguing? it is clear that Blizzard was heavily influenced by W40k when they made Starcraft. Copy or not, Starcraft means the all time NUMBER 1 RTS game (at least for me, and im sure im not alone with the feeling). both titles are classics, not just because of the design concept, but because of the story behind both titles.

Chances are both have inspired each other, for example the Zerg were a much less cartoon version of the original tyranid, then GW seen the Zerg and went Ah thats pretty cool and done a redesign. Have a look at the Carnifex before Starcraft was released then look at a 3rd edition+ one and you'll notice similarity and differences. The Carnifex talons are not unlike that on the Ultralisk then the Chitinous plate on the newer Carnifex is inspired by the Ultralisk

Blizzard started making a game based upon Games Workshop intellectual property. After being denied permission by GW to use their IP Blizzard relabeled the names of a few things and released it anyways. Starcraft is a fairly blatant rip off of Warhammer 40k.

2: Most of the scenarios that involve a single Spartan killing a SM involve the SM unarmed and the Spartans with the Spartan Laser from H3. Let's even it out a bit: Meltagun on Spartan Laser. Both are tank killer guns. SM wins every time, any time.
3: How about an even match, unarmed for both with only armor? I hope you really like Spartan pancakes.

3. take a look at the new animations for melee combat in Reach, AND those are Spartan IIIs

Spartans do have shields...because they need them ;P SM don't! Rockets demolish Spartan shields too fast. Bolters are mini rockets. With knockback power.
You know, the SC series may not be too creative, but it's like, what? S. Korea's national sport, so it's got a huge monetary advantage on 40k. But Halo is probably worth more than SC, since it seems as if 75% of America has played it.
