I actually just beat FF tactics: war of the lions yesterday, which is in the same world as FFXII ( it's Ivalice) im kinda upset i didn't get to fight all the espers :/ you only fight Cuchulain, belias, Zalera (which would be my esper :D) Addramelech, and Hashmal. nonetheless, i reccomend you buy it for PS1 or PSP, it's amazing :D

To be honest this is the only Final Fantasy game i've ever played mostly because i never liked the others combat system.. I loved this one so much yet alot of people seem to think this game is the scum of the earth compared to the rest.

this is the only FF game i own hard as fuck but great despite the odd battle idea but im stuck on a boss near the end i cant rember its name but its speed is imensis after you cut its HP down to half and 90 percent of the time it gets dual or triple or quadruple hits i can almost fully kill it but on the last ounce of HP it goes like its has a freaking rocket shoved ups its ass

The only bloody FF game I could play through to the end. It didn't bore me with useless droll and it kept me interested in the fact that it was about more than just the characters.

Not to mention the battle-system could be majorly broken with Arise on all characters and running around with a ranged weapon.

I found this theme to be very fitting while fighting Dr. Cid and Famfrit, after you defeat Gabranth (The first half of Theme of the Empire that played was so awesome for that fight).

It's also awesome against Zalera, who would Kill every so often and one-shot your characters. That plus the time limit you have against him made this theme so appropriate.

12 and other Final Fantasy games are a class of their own each. 12 manages to be great in gameplay with sucky story even though the gameplay really makes up for the story. And the soundtrack is great. As for other FF games they suck mostly, other than 6 and 8. They're good/decent. The rest are just overrated bullshit. 7 for example is the most overrated thing in the universe. This just proves 12 is epic and nothing else. I don't see why you got 10 thumbs up but eh.

@keybordmaster52 all ff games from 1-10 were amazing, many agree that 6 (3 in for north america), 7 and 10 were the best of the lot. however 10-2 (as in 'ten two'), 12 and 13 were all huge disappointments, 11 was apparently a really good game but it was an mmorpg (online game like world of warcraft) so i've never played. They have recently come out with their second mmo ff14 but the game is quite simply broken, not up to the standards of a finished product what-so-ever.

Espers are powerful spirits you can summon to help you in battle. They play a more or less important part in all the Final Fantasy games. In Final Fantasy XII (This one) they're not all that important other than being very powerful bosses, but in for example Final Fantasy X, they're very important to the story, same with Final Fantasy IX. They're not called epsers in those games, though, in FFX they're called aeons and in FFIX they're called eidolons. You should seriously play these games.

I liked Chaos, Walker of the Wheel the best out of all of them because his supermove created a giant fucking tornado and he generally looked cool too. It's just too bad his supermove was in reality next to useless against pretty damn well everything.

Allot of them were pretty useless which was a real shame. Although this is to be expected, the entire game was kind of unbalanced. Espers were more like challenge side-bosses then anything else. Most of them were insanely hard.
