The Pup was available in two versions with flywheel mounted on either sides of the motor. This engine has the flywheel on the prop side of the motor so appears to run in the opposite direction to your twin which probably has its flywheel on the other side (if that makes sense...). The end result is that the prop normally turns in the same direction (right hand) for both motors.
pull the flywheel backward most of the way up compression and let go, if you have the right magneto it will spark about 30deg BTDC to fire the crank forward.
The idea is that there is less starting effort needed when not passing through TDC. ,especially for the bigger singles.
