If you have a character walk forward, toward the screen, do you need all 8 frames? It seems like you could probably get away with less than that since you don't see all of the motions.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, it's true you don't actually need 8 frames. You can get away with 4 if it's a simple animation. The only reason 8 is used is to give the character a slightly smoother motion to his walk, however it's up to you and the style of the animation you are after.
