  • Something is wrong with 1 or more people.

  • I love this version of Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer. It's been my favorite since I was a kid.

  • mai stato tradotto!

  • Somethin' kinda interesting I heard not to long ago. I was watching Rudolph at my Grandma's house, and she told me her brother was friends with Burl Ives. I thought that was pretty cool...

  • i can play rudolph on my recorder :)

  • Is this were Rudolph first started?

  • @AaronsGame Robert L. May created Rudolph in 1939 as an assignment for Montgomery Ward. The retailer had been buying and giving away coloring books for Christmas every year and it was decided that creating their own book would save money. May considered naming the reindeer "Rollo" and "Reginald" before deciding upon using the name "Rudolph".[3

  • @AaronsGame No.

  • The one dislike was from the Grinch. But now he regrets it.

  • Christmas is tommorw..ima Goth chick i'm trying to get in the the "JOLLY" mood so I won't scared my toddler neices. -__-..oops i mean :)))

  • It must have taken forever to make the movie because 1) You have to make the characters out of a special material

    2) You have to make probably more than 200 clips!

and last 3) You have to edit all the clips together

Anyway I love this movie so much! (Partly because I'm 9!) This is the only version I atch.

  • 1:05 I loved the Christmas Tree Forest. You notice how still and peaceful it is.

  • The only thing that bugged me was the color of the sky. It was beige!

  • I was nine when this came out. It wouldn't be Christmas without watching this. It's funny how quickly it goes by now. I didn't remember the extra part toward the end with Yukon tasting peppermint, because they stopped showing it after the first couple of years.

  • if I live to be 100 I'll still feel like I'm 5 on Christmas:)

  • 1 grinch voted thumbs down

  • When this and the other Christmas specials came out on dvd, I bought them. As a single guy, never intending to have kids. I bought them just because I Wanted them. Well, years later, my daughters LOVE Rankin and Bass. :-)

  • Silver and Gold ..... just saying it chokes me up, much less hearing that magical song...!

  • the dogs bury their heads in fear!

  • How does Santa get so skinny every year? Must be some special gym he goes to.

  • @6383Jman Maybe he hibernates from New Year's Day until Halloween, almost like a bear or a squirrel.

  • I loved the way the snowman dude rolled around =)

  • One of my favorites TV special.

  • when i was a kid, christmas wasn't christmas until this show came on (and 'santa claus is coming to town')

thank you so much for posting it!

  • 2:17 *pulls out huge block of ice from nowhere*

  • Absolutely perfectly put gandy74! For that brief moment, it's 1964 again. And yes, I tear up, but they are tears of pure joy. How lucky I've been to have had a great, great childhood. ;-)

  • this = my childhood <3

  • Mrs. Claus is funny when telling Santa to eat! My parents did the same thing when I was not eating when I was young. lol

  • I'm 12 and i absolutely LOVEE this movie. I sure am glad my parents raised me to love the classics instead of the crap they have out right now. : )

  • Sam: havent you ever seen a talking snowman before?

me: yep his name is frosty

  • @teddykitty2019 True, but "Frosty" came out after this special.

  • The slow fade into color at :21 and the accompanying lullaby-like music alone of this special has more child-like innocence, wonder and pure Christmas magic than ALL the contrived,manipulative,agenda-driven holiday crap corporate Hollywood has churned out for the last 20-25 years.

  • all time favorite

  • If I live to be 100 I hope that my great grandkids will have seen this show and loved it as much as I did when I was a child!!

  • RIP Burl Ives! We still love you after all these years!

  • <3

  • THE SNOWMAN WAS IN ELF TOOOOO

  • brings back some great memories

  • i cry when i watch this cause it so GOOD!!!!

  • I always watch this on Christmas Eve :) <3

  • Getting in the x-mas mood ;) this and A Christmas Story are the BEST x-mas movies EVER!

  • It is amazing how these (Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, The Little Drummer Boy , Santa Clause is Comming to Town..ect).... were put together so long ago. A lot of time and tallent was put into anamations back then and they still look good today...........They do bring back memories of my childhood/infant days when only local channel were on tv and you had to use "rabbit ears" with tin foil for a better reception......but that was sooooo long ago.....Merry Christmas

  • Thank you sooo much for posting this...we tried to watch Rudolph on ABC Family and it was a newer one about Rudolph and the Misfit Toys. I thought we had missed it!!! Thanks!!!!!

  • Doesn't the snow man look asian? :P Love this holiday special

  • I watch this several times every christmas <3 Such a classic :')

  • I wish burl ives was still alive...

  • Are those UGG Boots Santa is wearing ?

  • santa is so cute!!!!!!!!!

  • "Well pull up an ice block and lend an ear" :P heheh love that line and the way he just GLIDES through the snow without any legs XD

  • id say my fav besides this and frosty cartoons, except frosty and rudolph's christmas in July, would be year without a santa claus, twas a night before christmas, and santa claus came to town. movies not included.

  • I actually remember as a kid watching this and all the Rankin/Bass specials on vhs. I loved them so much, I used to watch them all year round. :) I can't believe I haven't seen this one in so many years, I love this special so much.

  • I'm 49 and believe you're never to old to watch these at Christmas time. They bring me back to my childhood.

  • @yocuzz100 I'm there, too...I love these old classic Christmas shows! I have my own personal copy on DVD of Rudolf from 1964 & I watch it every year. Life is like a roll of toilet paper...the closer that you get to the end of the roll, the faster that life goes by!

  • @yocuzz100 I'm 50 and I still remember these old Christmas cartoons from when I was kid. I wasn't Christmas time until Burl Ives sledded down the hill on his Norelco razor. I seen some antiques show about 2 years ago, some guy brought in the little plastic dolls used in this cartoon. He was friends with either Rankin or Bass. The little Burl Ives doll melted in his moms attic :(

  • @clintonearlwalker Holy smokes!.... The Norelco commercial!! I forgot about that one!! Berl Ives always looked like Cernol Sanders to me. Did I spell that right?? It's olnly been 40+ years!!

  • @yocuzz100 Well you were close, it's "Burl" Ives, and "Colonel" Sanders, I have spell check built into my browser and I'm a spelling Nazi (> . <) Anyway, I love this cartoon, the Grinch, Frosty, Little Drummer Boy, and a few others, I love watching them on YouTube. Cheers, and Merry Christmas!!

  • christmas is adout lord jesus

  • @clintonearlwalker Thanks for correcting me!! Best Wishes on the Holidays. Now I'm off to watch "March of the Wooden Soldiers!!! God Bless!!

  • @yocuzz100 I'm watching the movie "Father Goose" with Cary Grant. The entire thing is posted on YouTube. I love the internet, Cheers!!

  • I was born in 1989 and my mother had all of these Christmas videos including this one and I have been in love with them since then. For me to not be born in that time and to like these movies is already a great impact. These movies are one of the main reasons I can't wait until the month of December.... Because usually they show these movies on TV including "The Little Drummer Boy, Frosty the Snowman, Jack Frost, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and etc"

  • THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY USE TO MAKE ME CRY

  • Snowman: You know Dasher and Dancer? Prancer...

My family reaction: Oh no- don't sing~

  • Anyone who doesn't like this special, either never had a childhood or just hates Christmas.

  • Yet one more example proving that 1964 was the best year ever!! heh heh heh

  • @1964nickel Especially for those of us born on Leap Day! Hee hee hee!
