Jakob es demasiado bueno...entreno con el...he visto a mauro, sidney y andre...pero ese mae esta a un nivel superior...tiene una variedad inmensa de tecnica...
Where in Costa Rica is this guy??? I have never seem him around! the only 3 black belts I know in Costa Rica are Sydnye Machado, Mauro Sergio and Andre Oliveira!
yeah i ran into the same problem with my buddy. slearn japaneseome things that helped were keeping my guard tight over the elbow of the side that has wrist control, as you'll probably notice, he keeps it tight in this video he just doesn't mention it. the second being a little more elusive but still worth taking notice of. it really helps a lot to make your overhook tighter as a means to grabbing your own wrist. force his body into the arm and not so much the other way around.
I have been working with this it is great for stopping punches, very powerfull sweeps too.
Goes great with Rubber guard pyrimid and the puppet master overhook guard stuff. I used a straight arm lock into an arm bar off the mount with the over hook after the sweep it flowed nicly. Nice post thanks!!
one small point though - most opponents will be very sensitive to their captured-hand elbow position, flaring it out so they can try to prevent a leg triangle.
dayum! Someone's getting the master blaster put on them today at 4:00!!! That is friggin awesome. i had seen something like this before called a handcuff triangle but you were holding your opponents left wrist with the hand that has the overhook (your left)... The grip was not nearly as strong as this and was also super hard to maintain "no gi" with all the sweating... this solves all that... AWESOME!
I think he starts with a butterfly guard, then Jakob puts one foot on the mat as he moves side ways, the other foot stays hooked to the inner thigh, then pushes it to complete the reversal.
The rolling looks like an easy transition to an armbar. Also, the wizar type wrap around the arm on the left side seems like it may be beneficial in making some sort of arm lock. Although I wouldn't know the extent of what the position could or couldn't hold.
Gus, Those pads I am using are McDavid Knee pads. I have forgotten the model number, so give me some time to find that out for you. These are the ONLY McDavid pads that I like. They are practically only a neoprene sleeve. They have NO extra padding in the front. I think it is what wrestlers call a "Shoot Sleeve". It slips across the mat wonderfully and is low profile enough not to constantly get pulled down by movement. All the edges are sewn to prevent stitching issues. I'll find out.
Congratulations Jakob! Way to get your stuff out there. For those of you who don't know, Jakob covers these same moves in different clips on his profile at JiuJitsu81. I love watching the same move demonstrated a couple of different times because each time you pick up different subtleties.
It's good, but not easy to get. Getting an overhook is a task in itself and once you get it, your opponent wont just give you his wrist. If you can grab a wrist rock to that side, get the opposite overhook and link em together. thats the only way I have found works.
Hey Ari, you seem to have gotten rather famous compared to when I first started watching your videos, with having connections to world class fighters, not to mention Eddie. Has Youtube been a significant part in your becoming this well known?
One of the best instructors on the web. Plain and simple...
Need to see more of your new stuff as most of your old stuff has vanished!! Always got your clips in my favourites bro.. Keep up the good work .
