  • didn't get it these videos really confuse me i'never used straps before but thse videos explain it to you like you already know how to do it i have no frigging clue how to do it!

  • how do you wrap these bitches on a dumbell ? i cant for the life of me properly wrap these during dumbell shrugs, the weight hang off the string completely throwin off my focus, i had better results w/o them wraps.

  • the straps don't make you stronger, but have two uses:

    1) Lifting a weight heavy enough that it causes your hand/grip strength to fail before the intended muscle group you're trying to work.

    2) Stopping forearm involvement from certain movements.

    That said, if you're new to lifting you need to develop your forearms and grip strength anyway, and probably arent going heavy enough to truly need straps, so I wouldnt use them as a beginner.

    Work your forearms and grip strength, beginners! Don't get tennis or golfer's elbow by going too heavy, too fast, without minding your forearms; it hurts like hell and will set you back for a while!

  • @ruin3r true, i never use em. chalk is enough for me on dl's. if your grip is hurting doing pulldowns or pullups, u need help. i don't do any grip excersises, just the regular movements. i tried em in the past, and guess what? my grip strength went to shit. i see ppl at my gym overuse the hell outta them.

  • i've snapped the tendon in my left ring finger, and havent had a decent back workout since... hopefully my strapps will be arriving tommorow :)

  • @joem80003 those straps are for taking some stress off your grip/hand muscles, in case you train with heavy weights and notice you have problems holding on to the bars

  • how long should the straps be? is there a universal size or is divided into, say, S, M, L, XL, etc? a friend of mine uses straps that are about 55cm long...

  • @Avonaco76 cut down on the wanking and your forearms should be ok lol

  • @lordvoldemort578 they dont help you lift more. But...they do help cut down on the strain in the fore arm resulting from exercises that require a strong grip. I used them for a while but then I just adjusted my form so the weight actually comes to a rest when I lower it...this gives a momentary pause in the movement and the need for your fore arm to be tense the whole time goes away.

  • @lordvoldemort578 They will make you look and feel like a badass lol. But don't expect to be able to lift a lot more with them...it's more about making the lift more effective and safer.

  • why do u put the strap that way ??? all my friends that have been power lifting for years hmm do it like ur shooting a gun. i guess its preference
