everything is relative, get a lipo with brushless.
costs are probably similar if you figure in the life of the lithium battery and the power to charge it vs the fuel you need to run nitro.
nitro is quick to refuel, but is messy/smelly
lithium is cheap to charge and clean, but they are expensive to buy.

yes you can put drift tires on most rc cars but if they arent 4wd you will slide around like a nikko car :O
