  • very good info, Good job . I will buy one soon ,thank you .

  • Do you want iPad 2 for free? Check out: goo.gl\8ONjl

  • i dont wanna look at your goddam face...jus wanna check out the xoom.

    good review btw

  • how the fock do u guys just make businesses outta nothin

  • @building43 what camera do u use

  • xoom sucks its sold like 25,000 units..... no apps = no buy the idiots at Motorola overpriced this thing which was unfinished and rushed to the consumer

  • @neoarcadezr lolz android market place says hi..

  • @wolfboy20 what the hell r u talking about?

  • @neoarcadezr what are you talking about the android market has over 150,000 apps.

  • @miasmablk Those are phone apps not tablet apps

  • I think the main problem Apple has is the fact that people (mainly teenagers) buy Apple products just for the fact that it's the flavor of the month; when in actual fact there are many tablets out there that can do what the iPad 2 can and more.

People don't do their research and just assume that whatever Steve Jobs says is true and that their 'magical product' can't be beaten.

  • Thank you for the review. I do not own either an iPad or Xoom, but I have an HTC Droid Incredible with VZW and was debating which tablet to get, which I would like to use primarily for business. After researching the two tablets, your review of the comparison clinched it for me: I will purchase the Xoom, especially being already familiar with the Android OS. Great review, thanks again.

  • I do so little with a computer that when my laptop died, I looked at replacing it with a tablet. I really was leaning towards the ipad but having to maintain it through itunes killed it for me. I purchased the Xoom and couldn't be happier! Even with the few apps Android has, it still provides me with a computer that runs on its own and does everything i need. Sorry Steve Jobs, but your security issues killed the ipad for me.

  • Question-How do you afford all of this Tech...All your kids have iPads, and Xooms or so you say..Message me..I would like to know what you do for a living.

  • Excellent balanced review, thanks

  • Great review, really honest and clear voice so I enjoyed watching this.

  • Great honest review. All reviews should be like this so that we really know what we are going for, which is actually the aim of a review in the first place. Thanks Robert

  • how about dont get either and wait for the ipad 2

  • "Going downstairs and showing your mother-in-law pictures"...

    ...yeah, or watching porn!!

  • For an apple fan he was really objective.

  • Do it again vs the IPAD 2 especially the speed. Photo quality?

  • thanks for the great review......on the xoom, .eveyrthing is included and you don't have to pay $39 for an hdmi port ....it's far superior even compared to Ipad 2. Lets just hopw they release a $499 wifi only Xoom.

  • "If you're a common every day person, get the apple product."

Woah woah woah. What has happened to my world?

  • This actually a very well balanced review. It doesn't come with the dock at least mine didn't, but the dock is relatively inexpensive. As far as the apps are concerned, I suspect that they arrive pretty soon as the other honeycomb tablets reach the market. i'm actually very happy with my Xoom.

  • "You need to shutup" on the whiteboard, LOL.

  • Yes, but will it blend?

  • 1 person owns an iPad

  • @lennyd44 15 million actually

  • It's a bit boring, but this deserves more views. Wise and honest.

  • Failed to mention Apple airplay. Wonder why? It's the best way to stream video from the Ipad to a tv wirelessly with Apple TV.

  • Great review, I would blur out your e-mail though, to prevent spam ;)

  • $800 for something that has less functionality than a netbook? FAIL.

  • Can you let me know if this tablet can run itunes? or play the itunes format movies. and how well is the book reading on this device?

  • @whatisthis2040 iTunes is only for Apple products, you unknowledgeable buff.

  • Like said before, great review from a Apple lover, I applaud you as an Android freak. As far as apps, with the release of the Android 3.0 SDK avaliable to developers just recently, and a little time for developers to explore the new possibilites with Honeycomb such as the Animations framework and the Fragments framework and such, App quality for Android should definetly get better. I find all the apps I need for daily life on Android, so its not a deal breaker. Hopefully getting a Xoom later on.

  • Great review from a self-professed Apple fan...very excited about getting my Xoom this weekend.

  • Shayd93: yup, I have no complaints about the screen when compared to iPad.

  • Great Review, I have been wondering about how this device would stack up.

  • How about the screen is it sensitive as iPad?

  • Great, helpful review comparing the two tablets and being honest about the positives and negatives.

  • @sakai2k2000 Agreed. Hard to find objectivity in the tech wars these days.

  • Extremely well done review, unbiased unlike most reviews done by fans of apple. Great job and I commend you sir.

  • The only big let down about it is the...cost!

  • @ChrisAstro30 Also it doesn't come with flash. Maybe this summer.

  • This was a really, really well done review. Seriously subscribing now.

  • Nice job Robert, very fair comparison.

  • I took a risk watching this video, thinking it was gonna be crappy, no devices, but you did a really good job man, keep it up pal...

  • In the back: "You need to shut up"

    HA

  • yeah without many good apps on android, i don't see a whole lot of reasons to get the Xoom. With the ipad, there's just so much more you can do on it. it has a ton of stuff that i would actually use to pass the time with.

However, apple needs to make the ipad feel more like a desktop/laptop replacement, instead of a giant ipod touch. i look forward to seeing what ipad 2 looks like.

  • Great review! When you get a chance, can you post an update on battery life. I'm really curious how far this thing will go with the Tegra 2.

  • @Pinbackfan @Pinbackfan

From Engadget, you should check out the review

    Battery Life

    Motorola Xoom 8:20

    Dell Streak 7 3:26

    Archos 101 7:20

    Samsung Galaxy Tab 6:09

    Apple iPad 9:33

  • Last question I promise, you mentioned that the Xoom comes with the dock, is that true? It seems strange that they would just throw in an accessory they would probably sell to you for $80-$100. If it really does come with it that'd be great.

  • I hear the "lack of apps" comment a lot when it comes to Android. I've found so long as you have the staples such as facebook, gmail, skype, that app COUNT doesn't really matter as much. With that said, android needs Netflix BAD! What do you think about the app store having the key apps versus number of apps?

  • It was nice to hear such good things coming from a self-professed iPad fanatic such as yourself. Thanks for the great overview.
