He is beautiful. i have a boy cockatiel named Prince. we sort of adopted him, he flew in a tree and neighbours found him. so eventually he became our pet and he talks and when he heard yours he responded. they are so smart and loving. he spoke many words, so far i just taught him to say kisses (smack smack) is what he does like yours. cheers!

I used to have a pied cockatiel called Jack who looked just like that but he passed away a couple of years ago...I now have an albino cockatiel called Stig who's about a year old; he was only 2 weeks old when I got him. He's not as talkative as this...though that fits his name better lol.

We have 2 6 month old boys (fairly certain they are boys)! They're getting very chatty but I can't wait for the day they are as vocal. We're in Ireland but I'm an Aussie and now i'm determined I'll teach them the Aussie national anthem. Either that of Once A Jolly Swagman?! Haha. Cockatiels are such great birds!

My cockatiel boy had passed away on 16 Aug 2011, I brought him and his female companion home in January 2009 when they were a few months old. I had tried my best to raise these kids and they are now parents of 2 boys and 1 girl, they born in March and May respectively this year. I am glad that I was home when he passed away so they he would not be lonely and he died very peacefully on my hands. I will never forget his companionship and hope to see him again in heaven. He looks like Molly.

That's ok, I have Mikey who we found out was a girl when the males started 'surfing' on her and she started laying eggs!! I've got four boys and four girls, but they generally don't breed as they are very humanised, although being cockatiels, they still enjoy the odd 'surf', lol. Molly is adorable by the way, wish mine would talk but I've got too many now!

@mizdeejay Yes, Molly is a boy. It is noted in the description, you can easily tell with his colorful head as well as under his tail and mail traits. Molly was named when born and still gets called a she as a bad habit, but yes he is 100% a boy.

I just got my cockatiel's wings clipped. He went from being an anti-social little turd to an angel. That was yesterday, and already he's climbing all over me and cuddling and just generally being cute.

So for those who are getting one soon, i would recommend getting the wings clipped ASAP.

Beautiful bird :) And as for the name thing XD My 'tiel's name is Gus, and she's female. They're very difficult birds to sex, you only really know for sure when they're over a year old. And yeahhh, my macho bird started to lay eggs XD

Also, I think falling over after fluffing the feathers is just what all 'tiel's do XD

yes its a male cockatiel...however he is very cute and talented. I had such one to a white one, he became 25 , he could say his name Jacky and he whistle excellent to the music he liked , and he danced ...shakin his head and moving for and back. His best friend about a period of 13 y was my tame crow Jacob , which is much bigger than a cockatiel...but they were realy best friends and the crow did never hurt him. I wll never forget, thats why i looked at yours ;:) thanx 4sharing !

Molly is adorable! i have a boy cockatiel called Charlie, we got him off another owner.. at the age of 2. his last owner used to let him out the cage alot, we've only done it once. he just pecks at the cage, dosen't talk either. he whistles and tried to bite us.. idk how to teach him how to talk.. i used to say hello over and over to him everyday, still no use. he's getting anoyying and dosent let you stroke him no more.. ;'(

I have a baby cockatiel (2 weeks out of the nest) You can already tell she is a female though, she has her stripes and everything. I whistle, talk and sing to her and she likes it when i put on ipod on the dock so she can listen to the music lol

@VSAngel27 - This baby tiel may not neccesarily be a female. Most tiels are born with stripes under their tail. You will be able to tell at it's 6 month moult. females keep their stripes whereas males do not. If you would like it to be a chatterbox fingers crossed it's a male (:
