  • I always preferred the band on their own anyway:)

  • Bring back Gary Glitter,,, this bunch are pants without him..

  • That guy has a tremendous voice. I like the GB, they didn't need you know who. In fact they were just hired as his backing band for doing live shows and had no previous history with him.

  • any one got the 80s single until tommorow? please post it!

  • @missmarypickford Until tomorrow was a b side, I think the A side was tears i cried.

  • @ronnoten oops-meant 'until the next time'. anyone got it & can post it?? would love to hear it again. tar!

  • @TheJetfighter666 ok boss , lol

  • thats how a performance should be like GOOD JOB GUYS

  • No way that Supersonic was on Saturday mornings aswell and then cd:uk followed suit in 1980 on Saturday mornings at 11.30.

That it was unlike Supersonic !! Granada Plus repeated Supersonic and cd:uk in 1997/98 from the 70s and 80s rather than TOTP.

  • Best band ever ! ! ! ! !

  • I presume this was recorded towards the end of the 70s as they were introduced as the G Band.Although never a big fan of glam rock I always preferred The Glitter Band to Mud,Sweet, etc.

  • the gaudy, fleurescent, dayglo-colour accurately reflects the decadent 1970s......today's ROCK/POP arena is more attuned, but i nfinately more bland and meaningless.

  • Great song, thanks for posting. Was the programme this was taken from "Lift Off" or "Supersonic"? I seem to remember them both being childrens pop shows from the mid 70s but I dont know which one featured our groovy producer cat with his "zoom in camera 3 and cue alvin stardust" style intros like this one.Love it.

  • 'Supersonic'. Crap musicianship but who cares ?

  • Man just look at Jon Springate's face singing this song. Knackered foot or not, the lad loves his work and I don't care what Gadd did, these boys didn't do it and they were part of one of the UKs most fun periods in music. And the songs were great too. Go Glitter Band, this is so great! Belongs in the annals of history yes, but deserves to be remembered fondly.

  • Absolutely Fantastic !!

  • what he do?

  • THE BEST BAND EVER AND EVER!!!!!

  • Let's PLEASE keep this space for "the Glitter Sound" - bitch free - there's so many other vid's you could have your slanging matches on. I don't ever condone Gadd's behaviour! Full Stop!!

these are my memories of a long ago music era. there is precious little left of this period for us all to enjoy - and I know you do still enjoy the music. I WILL remove them ALL if you can't respect this rule!

And - let's have some respect for Gerry - who always knew it was all "Fantasy".

  • I'm with you on this cubleader - I grew up to glam rock and the Glitter sound was always my favourite - just because GG appears to have been a complete twat, I'm not going to stop enjoying the music or be made to feel guilty for doing so... - thanks for all the posts and long may we be free to enjoy them - did we all stop liking 'Rockin' Robin' when Mr Jackson became of questionable character - I think not - it's still a great song...

  • I agree too. These clips are great. We didn't see too many of them in Australia. Who was the keyboardist? This is obviously another clip made when Springy trod on the nail - seen a few of them, it must have affected him for a while. Love the synchronised drumming too - Phipps and Leonard are perfect. Harvey's sax looks lonely though - have you got any clips when he plays it (the saxophones are what got me into the whole GG and Glitter Band thing in the first place). Great memories!!!

  • Hi there can u please, please not remove these wonderful videos??? This is an era where I was a small child and among my earliest memories. A more innocent age for music, one with true class. This stuff is really wonderful and thanks to people like you those of us who're not really catered to anymore by todays musinc industry can relive our own golden times. More please cubleader, more Gerry, John, Harvey, Pete n Tony???

  • Springer still sounds the same today
