All teenagers bragging in YT,pleading they are different just because they dig some quality music are so brain-damaged.I mean what's up with this world, if you hit the dislike button on this song just because it's old and not a fad you are dead, because ART is not about TIME and AGE, it's about HEART and SOUL. Music is around from the beginning, and even an unborn baby in his pregnant mother can appreciate Mozart!
Ray Charles had one an incredible vocal range. Along with Marvin Gaye (who's vocal range peaked at an incredible 4 octaves), these two are probably the two greatest male soul vocalists to have ever graced popular music. And the tragedy of both of their lives and the struggle makes the music take on a more surreal, more alive meaning than any other artist to take the microphone. The soul and the pain of blues are truly found within Ray Charles' music.
i don't understand why people post comments like "i'm 15 and i love this guy", it's like you are searching for someone to tell you "whoa you are so cool hehehe", i'm 15 and i listen to Zappa, Mingus, Coltrane,Funkadelic, Mars Volta, Ray, Ellington, Pee wee ellis, Mr Bungle, Parliament, Primus, and alot more of awesome bands, but i never go bragging about it to get like aknowledgment from other people.
Yes I agree, this "I'm only 15 and I like it" is sooooo retarded I mean its not like you are only 15 and finished college you just like this music. Its good music why shouldn't you like it..
@jaythesavage7 why do people say; a person is blind, because there may not be physical organs called eyes. Does anyone really know what sight is or means?
maybe the handicapped are the ones with all their parts so-called functioning.
@lzo1953 we say blind because of conditioning. It's the "word" we made to describe something we decided we understood. Funny thing is sight is just a perception of light by the brain, we all seem to "see" the same colors but that is only because when i was shown a blue crayon, I told it was blue, the person telling me had no idea what I saw and never could. What is your blue?
Keep an open mind son. You don't need to be black and (God forbit) blind to put your soul into whatever is that you're doing. Also can find quality even nowadays. You just have to keep your mind open.
Hey, there, right you are, and you are certainly not alone, not even - or least of all in your young generation. I come across this kind of statement now and then - this "help, music cannot be just conform to dull peer-pressure !?! - is everybody my age listening to plastic ?!?" Music has never been so diverse but accessible. Just listen around, reach out, and search what really speaks to you & for you. There are soul singers a third of my age and I stand thunderstruck!
@Powiean You should cover yourself with shoe polish and gouge out your eyes. Or, alternatively, you could rid yourself of the moronic idea that only African Americans are talented musicians or that their talent is correlated to their race. Actually, just do the first.
This type of music is one of the few in whcih, if you get to it, you just CAN'T dislike it! Bottom's up for Mr. Ray Charles!

@jaythesavage7 my blue is being blind; only when a song or singer hits home do I catch glimmers of the light.

I love Ray Charles. Wish I was black and blind, so I could be exactly like Ray.
I hate my classmates music, like Lady Gaga and Rihanna and all that crap...
Love my parrents music! Ray Charles, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Cash, BB King, all of them!
