It really shows the absolute power that music can have. I mean just look. A raggedy old man thats wearing the most casual beat down clothing, playing an old banjo thats falling apart in the midst of a well dressed modern british audience, and he truly captivates everyone.
Music doesn't see social class or time or clothing status. Cause music is real. Just like this guy
I love this so much i only heard it on the Jona Hex film, the film was lame to be honest but this song made up for everything, as soon as i heard went and got that album 'Man From Another Time' brilliant.
Can his albums be ordered in internet? i'd like to have these in physical form. Usually i download my music via torrents but i'd like this man to earn full credit of his songs.
Finally some music with meaning, that wasnt just written to generate cash with little thought about meaning, just designed to appeal to the majority of tone death people who will listen to any crap
Check out any of the Third Man Record artists, they are all great and most not super commercialized except for Jack White's projects but hey its Jack White. Seasick Steve is incredible such a great artist and proves you dont need anything to produce good music!!
I'm only 22, and I expect to live for a looong looong time but I allready know that this is what I want to have played on my funeral... one of the most beautifull songs ive ever heard in my life.. (kindof morbid this huh)
it is such an overwhelming feeling of gratitude to know there is artist out there that is as passionate, creative and talented. Seasick Steve, artist, genius, legend.
at the moment for me this is the absolute most beautiful tune i've heard the last 40 years. godgiven talent and soul. a very nice person, i'm sure! steve ... yo' ma man! stay healthy
@tess57 I live in the US and the only time they air this show is this on some obscure station at 4:00 am. And they're reruns from a year ago. I wish we had music programming of this caliber.
@tess57 Its true that its nice to hear music that hasn't gone through the ringer several times, cleaned and sanitized, but you could remedy that easily by just going to live shows. It's fairly hard to sanitize a live show. Especially if its in a bar and the band is unsigned or new or something.
@kearnsy74 I started reading your comment, and thought "Oh no, this is going to be a stupid, sentimental comment by someone trying to link music and faith, but by the end, I was laughing! Things like that are the reason I look at the comments!
Man, you can't find this good and emotional music today...or so great music played by such old people

Most modern singers/songwriters - "My past was pretty tough and emotional. I broke up with the girl once."
Seasick Steve - "Yeah, I was a hobo."
And so music gets a man who actually knows something about the reality of life.
