  • That was AMAZING!! wow. awesome job. u played nearly as beautifully as u are. :D haha

  • It's a true music and the inner spirit was awakening , this instrument should have in this way , vi ... you're excellent . Thx for sharing .

  • wow indeed !!

  • guzheng have much lower tones and dan tranh have higher tones and louder, i prefer dan tranh more

  • i liked that a lot

  • endless stars******************************

  • Wauv - this is Qi Gong, sensuality, musicality and spirituality in an intriging fusion. So focused and techniclly skilled. I am a fan of Guzheng and after "meeting" VI An I shall continue to be so onwards.

Thanks a lot and please allow us to follow you here on Youtube. Regards from a fan in Denmark

  • This was amazing. She truelly has alot of talent.

  • WoW! Look at the way she uses her hands. So Skilled. Can you imagine having sex with this woman?

Don't mean to offend in any way, I'm just a guy. And I have to mention your talent is Flawless.

  • Hey Vi An. You crazy chick. It's one of your old friends from the days in excite chat. Tell that nekro dude above I had dibs on you a long time ago. I was just listening to a live performance of Lou Reed playing "Small Town" at Montreux and I thought of you. I was suffering from Vi An Diep music withdrawal symptoms, so I decided to hop over here. Some day some record producer etc is gonna find you. Never quit on the dream. Love the music.

  • Vah reh Vah. Boath Acha. Namaste

  • Dear Vi An,

Can we use your music, particularly this one, for a video documentary that we are doing? It's not for commercial purposes. We will only use it to promote our research project on the impact of disasters on communities, and we will of course put you in the credits. The video will also promote disaster preparedness. Two of our survey sites is in Vietnam, by the way. The other sites are in the Philippines and Indonesia Thank you very much!

  • she is goodddd. agreed...her music style and playing is more like Dan Tranh Vietnamese style.

  • that was awesome!!! and i can prove it;-]

  • weiß jemand vielleicht ob man sowas in hamburg oder in der nähe kaufen und lern kann???

  • will you marry me =)

  • o my god it´s wonderful! ich muss das unbedingt auch könn

  • Superb piece of art ! I wishi i had a cd like this.

  • Thank you! I will soon have new albums to offer, my previous albums are all sold out and I do not reprint as it is very costly and environmentally unsound, so I create new works at limited prints to keep my art alive. I will keep you posted, in the mean time enjoy my videos and I will be working on more new video works too! Loving regards.

  • Simply beautiful !!!

  • Vi An plays so good! May I ask how can I send her a message?

  • Simply Superb !

  • beautiful.

  • very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the sound of the instrument. :)

  • esta bonto la musica

  • very beautiful music vee, thanks for sending me the link, i appreciate it!!

  • Damn I'm in love with you, I wish you could follow me everywhere I go playing this music...you have an amazing talent. I love this sound...it says and expresses so much.

  • are those strings thicker? it lơoks like you have to pluck harder on them than a regular dan tranh *shrugs* ??

  • This is the Chinese Gu Zheng and yes each string is a different gauge or thickness. They are much thicker and require more strength to play than regular tranh strings because zheng strings are steel strings which are wrapped with silk and nylon.

  • a different style, yet so amazing. I like your saying--feel the music, not performing. what guzheng is this one?

  • Thank you. This is a travel size gu zheng by an unknown maker. This style is called the "sloppy non-drunken master's style". *Haahahahaa*

  • you're like a bjork playing dan tranh

very very very amazing, dear :]

  • That was really good! I enjoyed it!!~!

  • nice hair

  • gosh. her skills are so superb. her yao zi how ever rest on the thing. mine is lifted up.but the way she play yao zi very smoothing. she play till no zhao ying. very nice. anyone play guzheng here?

  • Her playing is not same as Chinese player.

    It's Vietnamese style.

  • Great observation, we can all share that sense when hearing and while watching this artist. Vi An's influences from Vietnamese dan tranh, Chinese gu zheng and Japanese koto is ever apparent in her performances. Well rounded artist with great natural ability, ease and confidence which shows.

  • Your music brightens my day and lifts my soul

  • Why thank you, that means a lot and I'm so happy that my music can make you feel this way. It is important for me to know that my music comes across to the soul... Keep enjoying and all the best! ~ Vi An

  • The deep playing sounds great--strong, full, and deep, with good use of bending ornamentation. It reminds me of guqin music. Is her lowest string tuned down to C-sharp? I guess so, if she's in "A diao" tuning.

  • that little instrument right there look so easy to play but yet its so dam complicated with all the string twisted together ....^^ just WOW

  • Who gives a shit. This is YouTube, not Carnegie Hall. There aren't many things I can listen to while I study, and this is one of them.

  • Some people only choose to criticize and without even mentioning anything positive about what they have experienced. Experts and decent people give constructive and positive guidance to benefit all. This comment is idiotic and irrelevant. Re-read the artist's bio page.

  • every performance has room for improvement, but she is already quite skilled. frankly, it's more important that the music be moving and emotionally evocative before it's "efficient." This performance is moving, while your comment, on the other hand, is vaguely derisive and offers no constructive criticism. Can you play gu zheng better? Probably not...

  • Amazing!

  • Thank you for sharing this.i really like it.

  • i love those bends

  • can i ask where do u go to download Guzheng music?

  • I purchased this artist's CD and it is permanently in my CD changer!

  • This music is beautiful, it's not even what I normally listen too. =)

  • hey there, i have just posted a vidclip of me on dan tranh, please enjoy :-)

  • Wow, I can really hear the vietnamese character, why not just use the dan tranh?

  • thanks, i have 8 instruments and i do have two dan tranhs, a traditional 17 stringed one and a custom 26 stringed one. i just posted a vid of the traditional tranh. i'm improvising with my friend on tabla, you can hear the chinese piece "fishermen's song at dusk" a few mins into the vid, please enjoy!

  • yes i was born in sai-gon and raised by viet/chinese/french parents.

  • sounds like guqin...

  • thank you, i love the quality of the lower tones on my instrument and the bends. i enjoy to mimic the deepness of the guqin sound for gu zheng. glad you enjoyed it!

  • This is just amazing! I love the traditional sound that makes me think of Asia.

  • bravo, magnificent

what a wonderful experience simply to listen and dream

    buzzmonkey

  • Ah Vi An

    My friend, beautiful as always.

Love to listen and meditate to this.

  • This artist enriches the cultural diversity of the oil slicker city I do business with every year. My two children and I have been so fortunate to be entertained at lunch times at my favorite spot The Farmer's Market for the past 3 years. Calgary is lucky!

  • you are awesome!

  • I second the one below me~!

  • In all my years I have never seen nor heard such a sound coming from this ancient instrument. The voice you give to this instrument is refreshing yet conveys an incredible understanding of its roots. Your instrument breathes still and you have given it new life. Very modest body movements only to accentuate each note and emotion. A great delight to hear, please come perform for France! Here is a true artist everyone.

  • Ah, when I listen and watch you perform I imagine myself laying in the middle of a natural spring in the ground, surrounded by lotus blossoms, cranes flying over head, with light and warm spring rain. Ripples in the spring and a calm in my life.

  • i love this video, i have it on my faovrites. i always put my speakers on loud and i listen to it peacefully in my room; its so beautiful...

  • OMG u play sooo nice I love ur music and ur moves (and u) are beautiful keep on postin videos!

  • impeccable performance.your technical skills and body language flows very well.

  • Thank you for all the great comments, its really important to me the feed backs you give because it really helps my development as an artist doing my own original thing! Cheers..

  • Ah, almost put me to sleep....but in a good way!

  • Great music, great tone, world class! I'm a professional guzheng player as well. May I know where are you from?

  • Why thank you! So happy to hear from you and thank you for your comments. I'm from Canada. I have been performing my original gu zheng music for over 11 years in Calgary, Alberta. Keep in touch?

  • i've been wanting to learn the gu zheng for a while now.. im curious of how long u've actually played it... and how long does it take to play it well

  • oh, and you're beautiful as well =p

    totally classical

  • not only do you make the notes dance beautifully, but your body language as you play perfects the performance, a wonderful piece

    thank you =)

  • Thank you for that message and comment, what a great observation, because I have to feel music through me and from this beautiful instrument. If I don't feel the music I wont play. I don't perform music, I am the music I like to think of it.

  • when you've nowhere else to play, play in church!

  • Exactly! Well you know music is for sharing with the WORLD so anywhere I can share music is a good place to give. Thanks for you are ENJOY so muchie!

  • You're very talented, beautiful, 5 stars.

  • Please return my breath that you swept away with such beautiful sounds. Thank you...... Lisa

  • I really like this. so amazing...PRETTY GOOD

  • Very beautiful Vi An! Your music almost made me cry(in a good way), and you should be lucky cause it takes me a LOT to cry.

But I have a question, do you know where I could get books or videos for teaching you how to play, in english(possibly?) Cause i've always been interested.

  • I'm so happy that you are enjoying my music so much, thank you! Also, here is a link for a wonderful forum on line containting great amounts of information on gu zheng, including learning material in english to be found:

Please google: Chinese zither net forum

    Enjoy,

    Vi An

  • I give you 5 stars just for learning this typically codified instrument all by yourself. You deserve a million!

  • Wow! You are so generous and kind! Thank you for your encouragement and admiration of my music/playing, it means a ton.. -- Vi An

  • Absolutely beautiful Vi-An!!! Love it :)

  • Heya manateera, thanks for visiting and enjoying my art and musical sharing. I have been playing for 11 years, I'm self taught and have recorded many solo albums independently too.

  • Good job!!! I think it' hard to practice with this musical instrument. How long have you practiced? Thankyou. I gave you 5 stars anyway.
