Why is everyone hating on todays singers and musicians? There are awesome musicians out there. Every generation has its garbage and its diamonds. Just listen to good music like this track and enjoy!
@Ehud2221 - spot on - note the recording is from "Top Of The Pops" in the UK, where everything back at that time was lip-synched to. Definitely the studio version here.
I HEARD THIS SONG IN 1985/1986 I BARTENDED IN TN. SUMMER 1986 I WAS BACK IN OHIO, & I COULDN`T REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS SONG OR WHO SANG IT. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. I FOUND THE NAME LAST MONTH THANK GOD. R.I.P. MARVIN
@yankees2000ms...Shadow -playing is just like lip-synching. You act as if you're really playing the instrument, but you're only doing the movements to your part. Just like singers mouth the words, but aren't singing.
Delores, I'll bet you're singing proud......thank you for all you gave to all of us...your smile lit up the world and your voice filled our hearts with joy....gonna be some sweet sounds coming down on the night shift...<3
Commodores have been a favorite group of mine love their sound.always have wish that Lionel Richie could reunite with them and do some of their altime hits.thanks for posting the video.
I wish there was a new version of the song, which can pay tribute to the artists who left us in the last years, like Michael Jackson, Teddy Pendegrass, and Luther Vandross.
Definitely one of my favorite groups of the 70s. I think at one point they were called The Black Beatles. Well I won't disagree to that since Lionel had that writing ability that Lennon & McCartney would surely admire. This is one beautiful tribute to two other legends in music, Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson. Thanks for posting it and keeping the memory alive forever!!
the thing I like about old school singers is the fact that they sound exactly like they sound on the record in concert unlike these singers now days that can only sound good in the studio
man lemme telll you nuh, this is one sweet song. every-time i listen to this song it makes me feel a way man. them guys sing real well. beautiful man beautiful!!
