  • @HumaneAnon What did you see in there that isn't available outside of England? It's all very common stuff you can find at any store. The only iffy item is pancetta, but that's largely been adopted as a common item in most supermarkets.

  • All of those ingredients can not be found outside England by walking to the store. I'd have to buy all that shit and wait weeks. No go.

  • He always says his dishes are fast and easy. What he forgets to mention is the time it takes to find the ingredients/prep. which takes time to find. The after math of the cooking is even more terrifying since you got to clean a lot of s***. Whereas they could just throw their plastic containers out.

  • @TheBlessedbabi Well all the prep he does here is pretty fast. It doesn't take long to chop up some vegetables. And if you have a dishwasher just throw all the dirty dishes in there. And even if you don't, washing dishes doesn't take that long as long as you don't let them pile up in the sink.

  • @TheBlessedbabi The key with any cooking video/recipe/followalong-esque thing is to realize that none of these are set in stone. A lot of the named ingredients can be substituted for much more common, and in some cases better (depending on your taste) alternatives.

    Vegetables in general in any recipe can usually be replaced with other vegetables. Herbs are often interchangeable (although you have to be good with them to know which to switch for). Meat is always interchangeable, etc. Experiment.

  • @haloboiboi Sometimes, especially when cooking seafood, chefs just want the fragrance of the chilli instead of the spicy-ness of the chilli. Because the spice would overpower the natural flavours of good seafood.
