  • According to recent rumors, this is one of Skyrim's next add-ons

  • Exactly how does this make the game better? Since when does someone just stop in the middle of the forest and follow a stream all the way across the country? O.o

  • i dont wish to download the compilation so can u tell me wich download file this is?

  • Come to think of it, it would be cool to have them remake this game using those textures and renderings seen in this video on the PS3/360. Kind of like how Cyan remade MYST and created realMYST.

  • Thats the most beautiful freakin' river i've seen in my life

  • OMG MOTHERFUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • @0:44 WtH :D Oh.. Immersive FPS.

  • @0:44 WtH :D

  • Its sooo bright im blind!!!!

  • why is the sky a searing, a-nuke-just-went-off white

  • @bjmensz Most likely because of the ENBSeries shader-mod.

  • Wow.. those trees look so awesome.

I think you just upgraded Oblivion so far, you beat Crysis. xD

Even though Oblivion would never lose to Crysis, okay, maybe the graphics-part..

Question: Is there like.. a way to run Oblivion with the Fallout 3 Engine?

It's about the same, but minor tweaks have been made which improves stability and performance, also looks slightly better.

Would be awesome if it'd be possible, though.

  • very nice, wish i had a strong pc as you.

  • OK I FIXED THE PURPLE MAP THING! but than 3 days later it happend again.

  • OH NO please help! I downloaded Oblivion Graphics Extender and the floor is all purple please HELP!

  • Hmm... I don't know much about OGE at the moment. Did you install OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) though? It appears it's needed for it. Remember to always read the readme's so you know what you need!

OBSE can be found at OBSE(dot)Silverlock(dot)org. Please support the creators, too. They made a lot of things possible for everyone.

  • You need to uninstall the mod and try an omod version or patch the game

  • Are there like purple maps of tamriel on the ground ?

  • yes

  • One more Question how do you work ScreenEffects?

  • I love ow there is no music can you please explain how you did that and dont worry about making it simple I do this kind of stuff alot. Thanks.

  • @TheDJBrinks

    Hello DJBrinks,

It's very simple; I turned off the music sound in the Options settings. ;)

In Part 1 and 2 it was the music that played in-game, Part 3 was where I added the music afterwards, I believe. That had to do with syncing and higher quality music as a result.

    I hope that helps!

As for the lighting; The lighting is improved by 'ScreenEffects'. Make sure to have a good graphics card that is able to run Shader Model 3.0 or higher, and possibly DX 10. Good luck!

  • ok Thank You

  • @TheDJBrinks by turning down the music slider in the menu's lol, or there is a mod to completely remove it too

  • Could you elaborate on what water mods you used? I can't seem to get it quite right, either the reflection is off, or the ripple effect acts wierd.

  • This will be hard to figure out; I vaguely remember I did mod the water itself though. I can try to dig it up tomorrow, if possible, to see if i can see where it's from.

As for the distant blocky water reflections, that I fixed, try the water reflections shader effect; type it in on Google or TesNexus.

It should be around there. Same category as the Qarl and Timeslip's excellent Depth of Field, in case you are looking for that too.

I hope this helps, but feel free to ask on!

  • To return to the issue (Either I keep forgetting, or Youtube keeps blocking my responses) ; I have to admit that I was unable to completely identify which mod changed it; I believe it was only a texture and shader replacer. There's also the grass below water, though.. But I believe that was hand-placed by the maker of this Unique Landscape.

  • Oh and I forgot to add, how did you make that lighting. Its amazing!

  • Wow, I have to say this is quite an astounding video. Not only the mods, but that you where able to get this video onto youtube at such high quality. Kudos man.

  • Love the gfx in Oblivion and same goes for Crysis.

I used some mods myself, its really nice to see the huge difference!

To bad booth games lack spirit. I hope some day we will have games that look this good and also have great game play!

This day has not yet come imo, but its getting close!

Nice work btw dude! Btw what specs do you have?

  • so this stream is already in the game? where, I could use it

  • It's added into the game by Unique Landscapes, it's a amazing mod created by various artists, each building their own part of Cyrodiil into a more beautiful, more diverse place. You should definitely check it out on Tesnexus or google it, to find it. =)

  • don't you "=)" me

  • with all the enhancing i cant tell what texture packs do you use

  • It's Qarl's Texture Pack 3 Full or Redimized (Redimized is better for pretty much every PC since it's less intensive than Full) with custom textures added by Unique Landscapes, colour corrected, improved lighted, shadowed by Screen Effects, and higher quality Bloom effects, shaders like Ambient Occlusion, SSAO, by Boris Vontsov's ENBSeries. Also some extra custom shaders for water reflection and Depth of Field.

Ensure you have a highly powerful DirectX 9 card or higher though. ;) Takes a lot.

  • it must have took forever to get your ini. config right

  • is this on the same comp and what would more than 5 npcs do to you fps like that

  • Depends, but with all the shaders, effects, shadows, lighting going on, characters can take up a lot of computing power. I have all settings on; maxed and tweaked, but I did take off Self Shadowing because the self shadowing looks pretty awful on characters.

A smart option is to use mods that change the standard settings 'on the fly' whenever higher detailed environments will slow your PC down. It can just look a bit weird, view distance keeps changing. Sudden fog, etc. ;)

  • Sorry bout the double post, but what mod did you use to add weeds to the bottom of the river?

Dang that water must have been cold!!!

  • Are you using a distance lod mod to let you see more in the distance? I am also using UL but I have yet to see a formation like this that takes my breath away. All the screenshots look amazing, but I havent seen that many changes exept between imperial city and bravil. Thanks for the videos =) They have really helped me find some gread mods to make oblivion into a great world! Are you making a part 5??? Thanks =)

  • You should put your mod up man, ask for permission and give everyone credit, even if i had to DL it in sections i would gladly do it! Really nice looking mod.

  • Hmm, i was sure I did... I'll re-check, and I will update the list on the right, as good as I can. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

  • Do you ever use the tcl command? It's much easier than running down a waterfall...

  • this is awesome indeed.

  • Btw, when you make next one video?

  • I'm having some trouble with my PC at the moment, some video card/driver related issue that I can't solve. It's holding me back from making the next vid at the moment.

I definitely haven't forgotten about it though, and will continue, when I can. ;)

  • Well, can you tell all graphic mods? I see only ENB. >.>

  • There's of course ENBSeries as you noticed; I've been playing with those settings a lot.

There's ScreenEffects, a Oblivion mod itself; it provides Colour Correction. This means that it changes all the colours of the game without having to re-create all the meshes and textures.

A lower version of Qarl and Timeslips' Depth of Field is added, without using Shader Model 3 because ScreenEffects and QTDoF wont work with eachother that way.

The environment is part of the Unique Landscapes mod.

  • T'anks, can you write your ENB settings?

  • I noticed it while you were swimming and just realised that there is no sealife except slaughterfish(unless u want to include mudcrabs aswell). There are so many mods out there now-a-days, shouldnt there be one to add some sealife

  • Nice... but too much bloom and hdr. Too bright.

Simple question... what's your level? :p

  • Been working on the bloom, HDR is turned off since it would be double up, no need basically. Seems it's more softer and more balanced now, so i'm hoping the results of that and other tweaks to show very soon. =) thanks for your comment!

  • you should try fcom, lame and the race balancing project

  • FCOM ended up being too complex and I didn't need the extra additions, OOO 1.31 and MMM were enough for me, personally. Race Balancing Project, i'll check if i have that one already. Thanks for the tips mate!

  • lame?

    less annoying magic experience

  • Nice, but don't you think the bloom effect is a little over-saturating things? I mean, the sky is just a bright white light.

I've got mods enabled, but nothing extreme. It's mostly just stuff from the Modular Oblivion Enhanced mod, Natural Environments and a couple of other small mods. The best one of all is the Fighter's Guild porter mod. He no longer stalks me! Hurrah! :P

  • Hey mate, thanks for your response; I agree, i've been fighting it out a lot with the Bloom settings. I'm still doing my best to improve the lighting, though from now on it's getting very very hard to tweak the settings perfectly, especially as the hours pass by and the sun stands differently.

Thanks for your advice though, and as said, i'll do my best to improve it.

    - JC

  • You could use a console command to stop or slow down time to make it a little easier to tweak the bloom settings.

"set timescale to 1" (without the quotes) makes time advance at the same rate as the real world. 0 would probably be better for you, as it stops time completely. The default is 30.

Altering the value of timescale can cause bugs to occur during various quests. Resetting timescale to the default value of 30 fixes the bugs.

  • Yeah, thanks for the tip, mate. I already used 12, 8 and 6, i prefer 8 and 6. I mostly referred to other people's setups, but you're definitely right.

    - JC

  • I definitely enjoy your vid, mostly in HQ and full screen and appreciate that you let the original sound of the wind and water, as it increases the feeling of realism

  • breathtaking
