Having a hard time getting the "Good Emperor" Ending. I have a fool proof strategy to do it, without even being a saint and it takes 1/3 the amount of time to do it my way than the regular way, but you have to follow my directions thoroughly. I've tested my method 20 times, and out of 20 times it's worked every time. I thought I would share it with everyone, just in case they were having trouble. Us Dynasty Warrior fans have to stick together.

First, go to the story mode and pick "Flames Over Chi Bi" scenario. Pick the empty space right over Cao Cao's territory. Doesn't matter who you pick as your ruler, I've done it with different people each time. The first thing you do when given an order is Hard March. Go directly to Cao Cao's main fief and fight him. It helps if you're a high level warrior. Beat Cao Cao and take over his empire. What you do with him afterwards doesn't matter. Now be as bad as you want to be. I know, just do it.

However keep your eyes open. Use the "Rob Grave" option until you see "Conscript". Use "Conscript" ONCE, then go back to "Robbing Graves". Pay close attention. Wait till you're made a King (just taking over Cao's territory is enough for this) by the emperor's envoy, and watch your orders. As soon as "Despotism" appears STOP. Don't make another order even if you have some left over when it appears. You need four orders at the same time to do this right.

Now with fresh orders. Use one to "Hard March" use the other three to "Despotism". The strategy guide says never to use it, but trust me. Use "Despotism" exactly THREE TIMES ONLY. No more, and none less. Then attack Sun Quan's army at his main camp. After beating Sun Quan you'll get two cutscenes. The first is your ruler talking to a subordinate, the second you're made the Evil Emperor. HOWEVER you'll notice your ruler didn't comment about the people hating them yet.

As soon as you gain control of your orders. DON'T DO ANYTHING BUT "Governance". Keep doing this until you get "Charitable Aid". Keep doing "Charitable Aid" until the people like you. Now you're the Emperor and the people like you (even though you were bad). Don't do anything else bad, and "Hard March" your way through the rest of the game. When you win, you'll get the Good Emperor Ending, even though you were originally bad, and it a lot faster my way than being good from the start. Your welcome

Also, to nachideku, here's a helpful hint I figured out for myself. Don't know if anyone else uses this method, but here's mine:

Know how you can't take an enemy's main camp without having a connection to it from a base you've occupied? Same thing with the Ruler of a territory; won't appear without an "Allied Supply Line."

Well, I take all bases that don't directly link to the Main Camp, and just charge the main camp. Once you kill everyone, they start regenerating. 1200+ kills easily. :)

You can't get them in Free Mode, just so you're aware. What you do is this:

1) Get the smith of whatever weapon type your character uses (or all the smiths, whatever) to at least Level 4.

2) Once you've done that, either invade an area or defend one of your terrirtories and get at least 500 kills in a single level. (Personally, I go straight for the 1000 kill medal when I go for weapons. Get that extra item slot.)

3) Win the level, however you feel like winning it.

Someone gave you a thumbs down for your tutorial, but you're exactly right. When doing this. I like to Hard March to Hei Fei to do it. An easy way to get 1000 kills is to go straight to the enemy's main camp at the start of the fight. Have your troops defend and keep fighting the soldiers. If no other base is taken around the enemy main camp then the soldiers will keep respawning 10 at a time. It takes a while, but eventually you get 1000 kills. Hei Fei has a smaller main base so I pick it more.

They clearly portray most of the Shu generals as the brave, courageous, good hearted people.. like liu bei, zhao yun, guan yu, zhang fei, ma chao, huang zhong, zhuge liang.. they're all freaking heroes and wu and wei are assholes. Its an overdone.. But I personally think China would have been better off if Shu won.

in dw empires you choose a force or edit your own your own officers and conquer all China. you can ask other officers youve captured to join you so Liu Bei might have asked Cao Cao, Sun Jian and Yuan Shao to join him

That part with the archers is possibly a reference to the scene in the ROTK novels where many of the Regional lords and the Emperor have a game of archery. Cao Cao achieves the highest score however the Emperor recieves more cheering, and in his anger Cao Cao pushes aside the Emperor, leading to many assassination attempts on Cao Cao by the Emperor indirectly.

Lu Meng and Lu Xun captured Guan Yu and he was excuted. Zhang Fei was murdered by his soldiers after "correcting" them as he marched to Wu who then deserted and joined Wu. Lastly Liu Bei sought out the destruction of Wu for the lose of his brothers, shortly after that he became ill with grief and the short comings of the battle against Wu.

In short Wu brought and an end to what was the Shu kingdom, Zhuge Liang fought against this fate but he too failed. (sad is the fate of men)
