LOVED this movie as a kid, its funny because i think in either captain america 220 or 221 from the mid 70's there is a back up story where rick jones falls into a machine and becomes captain avenger (which turns out to be a dream) but his costume looks a little like John Ritters, they might have drawn inspriation from that
