Awesome flying!! Some bigger Du-Bro low bounce tires would be excellent for that terrain. My T-28 is hanging from the ceiling. Haven't gotten the balls to take it out yet. I put a Turnigy Plush 60A ESC in it and Spektrum AR6210 receiver. I avoid factory radios and electronics like the plague.
Hello, Have you had any issues with your retracts on these rough surfaces? I'm a little nervousness about mine on grass, etc...It really limits me to certain places to fly. Looks like they are strong enough. Thanks.
Anyone having trouble tightening the propeller blades to the hub? I can't seem to be able to get the small crack around each blade to screw all the way in. If I screw it tighter I will be stripping the screw head? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
@gonzotroop1982 no it didn't. That is a Parkzone T-28 pilot. I painted the helmet white and glued him on there. The scale is pretty close to real scale, certainly looks better than the stock WW2 "goofy"!
40c 4s 3000Mah battery? How much of a flight time do you get with that set up? I want to buy this plane and I am trying to figure out what I need to be able to fly ~10min+ if possible. Thanks. Great flying btw.
@Weezing818 Hi, thanks! With that battery I get roughly 6 minutes of mixed flying. I think it wouldn't be that hard to fit a 5000Mah in there, but you might need to mod the battery bay a little bit to get it to fit. A 40C probably isnt necessary either, a 30C should be enough.
Word of caution...I have a Dx6i and put my AR6110e in the Airfield 1400 Corsair ARF. The esc that came with the plane would not work with the Specktrum electronics. NP sent me two replacements that still didn't work. Finally, they sent me an esc they had been using in their shop with a Spectrum radio and it worked. Sequencers for the gear and doors have been a nightmare. I have to operate the doors and gear separately.
@MinnesotaAlexander Because it was the maiden flight and I wasn't totally sure how they would act, but it turns out they are flawless. I now land with flaps every time and it's a beautiful thing.
Great maiden flight - well done! How would you say this compares (flight characteristics) to the Parkzone T28? I flew that one for a couple of years and absolutely loved it...then stupidly I sold it! Thanks...
@eagleswingsrc thanks! I'd say it generally flies very comparably to the Parkzone, except a bit heavier (which feels good in a plane like this) and more proportional power - it can do many more maneuvers in stock form than the Parkzone T-28, in my opinion.
@temisn Thanks for your reply! I really like the scale features of this Trojan. Can it fly on a 3 cell or does it have to have a 4? Nice flying by the way!
@Trituri1337 I'd say as a fourth plane it would be good but it really depends on your skill level. It is a larger, heavier plane, with flaps and retracts which you need to get used to working with. It's not a hard plane to fly by any means, but I'd say you need to be very used to warbird flying and landing.
@KrazyD420Mofo Personally I wouldn't recommend it - there is a lot more complexity to this plane than there is to the UM P-51. It would probably be good if you went through something in between like a ParkZone T-28 or a smaller 800mm Airfield/FMS/Nitroplanes warbird. Flying it is easy enough, but landing it every single time without damaging it requires a bit more experience in my opinion.
@TheMikeRoy it comes with no receiver so it can fly with any receiver you add to it. It only requires 6 channels so I think the Dx6i would work as long as you have a 6 channel receiver like the AR6200 or similar. The "RTF" version comes with its own Rx and Tx that are not compatible with Spektrum.
What a beautiful flying plane! As soon as I saw this on the website I knew that I wanted one. It flies so scale and is perfect for Rancho! Great flying too by the way!
@temisn Nice plane and great flying! i would love to get this plane as my second plane but i heard it has cooling problems and usualy over heats, is that true? thanx :-)
Nice flying and nice video. Do you have any complaints about the quality of this plane at all and would you recommend it to others. Seem to fly very nice.
@rgthd007 Thanks! the quality of the plane is top notch for a foamie. I would highly recommend this model, but not for beginners due to the number of controls/channels. Also because the landing gear probably couldn't take all the punishment a beginner can dish out on it. Other than that it's a very stable and easy flyer, no complaints whatsoever.
@rgthd007 Thanks for getting back to me. I think I might have to order one. The T-28 has always been a favorite of mine and is an easy plane to fly on lazy days. And, you have to love the cowl flaps on this one! Do you think you could get replacement parts for it if necessary, like a cowl, etc?
@rgthd007 I haven't looked into all the replacement parts for this plane yet but generally it is not hard to find and order spare parts for the Airfield / FMS planes.
Hey does this one have retracts?

Where did you cut the canopy to put the new pilot in? From all the photos and video, it looks like one piece of foam.
gonzotroop1982 3 months ago
Did that pilot come with this plane? I ordered my new T-28 from nitro and it has a different pilot. Yours is very nice.

That last landing was sweet. Why didn't you always use the flaps?
