you must have recorded this by schenly park. I actually saw this funnel.. it was litterly 2 blocks away from me... i didin't think it was a tornado into i saw the tornado warning. This funnel hit Mt.Washington just like the 1998 tornado but it cause minimal damage.
I don't think they did, but that storm was insane! I played a show at a place in Braddock called Giorgios Banquet Hall a week before and then the night of the storm I saw it on the news and there was a river of water on the street next to it.
We have doppler radar now which can detect rotation in the atmosphere.
Before, radar could not detect any rotation and now it can detect all rotation and save many lives so when a tornado warning is issued, HEED THE WARNING!
Geeze.. close call. Gotta love Western PA storms though. I remember last year when we had three major thunderstorms roll through. Didnt have power for a few hours :-/

Tuesday June 3rd may prove to be a very wild day in Pittsburgh as low pressure moves across the area creating severe storms and perhaps a few tornadoes.
What's up wit the storms rolling into the Pittsburgh region anymore? I thought this was a safe place to live, :P These last 3 years there's been bad thunderstorms, I wonder what it's going to be like this year. Good video.

I lived in Mt. Washington when we had the F1 but that was June 2, 1998. Did it happen again in 2003? I never heard of this one.
