Keep in mind, this was during the Attitude Era. Back then the storylines were adult orientated and they were all about creating anything that was controversial. A segment like this was done in such a fashion that would make the audience believe that this was supposed to be a private conversation and not apart of the show- when in actuality, this was still apart of the show.

This is a brilliant segment in itself for what it was trying to- and did- achieve.

And "little Undertaker" . . . well Bill Moody and Mark Calaway met when Undertaker was a young wrestler under the gimmick Texas Red. So this was obviously part of the storyline, which means it was obviously meant to be seen by the fans.
