I don't get your "CAPITALIZED" rant. The newer STi's are smaller, lighter, (Which makes them more powerful too) turn tighter, and faster than previous versions. Obviously it was built with a purpose, and it is very unique styling compared to other rally cars like the EVO or previous STi's. Also they are still very affordable.
I like my '06 STi look more than the other. But my friend likes the other more than other versions, but he still thinks his '04 looks the best for some reason)

You are wrong on most of your information: the 2007 STI was smaller in every dimension other than length; the 07 weigh less by 44#s making their power-to-weight ratios are nearly identical; the 09 styling looks like its was done by Daewoo; the base price is $2,000 more going up dramatically from there.
The worst part is that the EVO X beats it in every performance measurement conceivable. Not good for Subie lovers.
Read articles from people who actually have driven the car. They all say it handles much better, accelerates much faster, and is a better performing car. Also if you see reviews of the EVO X vs the STi. The Subaru beat it in every category. (Shows like Top Gear have specials on that) They showed the performance of the EVO X went WAY down from previous models, while the STi's performance went up (slightly, but it still went up, and preformed better than the EVO X)
Also everything in your rant has been contradicted. It is a small car. It is purpose built. It is reliable. It is affordable (My little brother bought one, and he is living on a fixed income) and it has unique styling.
(Don't go by number you read in an instruction manual, go out and see how it feels, how big it is for yourself. You won't get a good idea of a car until you experience it)

It is not a car company bailout it is a labor union bailout. The best thing for car companies is to go in front of a judge who would throw all those rediculous restrictions the unions have on the auto makers out the door. They could start bringing in those high milage diesels from Europe and have the funds to make a new car instead of rebadging the S10 pickup. subaru is rallying, most of their cars are purchased because of the rallying background and because they sum up relativley cheap, fairly good quality with a reasonable amount of performance.
But they will probably be back when business is back. I suspect a few years time. Assuming there is no major natural or economic disaster in the mist. It would suck if they went forever.

subaru is rallying, most of their cars are purchased because of the rallying background and because they sum up relativley cheap, fairly good quality with a reasonable amount of performance.
But they will probably be back when business is back. I suspect a few years time. Assuming there is no major natural or economic disaster in the mist. It would suck if they went forever.
My memory sucks. But I think Mitsubishi did leave and come back once? Around the Tommi Makinen time?

yeah, they've said that in the vid, that it happens all the time but has no serious effect, but they also said that in 2012 it would be the most powerful storm in decades that it won't be blocked.
