I totally agree with Ron Paul. I think he is the only person that make sense here. No bail out for the big three. I now own a Honda and Toyota and will never ever buy American ever again. Especially if they're going to use my money to bail themselves out of their own mess. I've been wasting too much of my hard earn money on their crappy vehicles already and now they're asking for handouts. WTF..give me a fucking break????????
I'm going think Americans are stupid until they vote for Ron Paul as president...sorry but thats the only guy I've seen that actually knows how to run a country both into the future and maintain stability.
Hey Kroger43...pretty obvious that you are one of the union types who are part of the root cause of this auto industry bust. Here is the real deal...the American people are sick of bailing out all of these companies. Let these companies fail and let the free market system work. When the big three fall, the slack will eventually be taken up by new companies. It may take a few years, but it will happen. I get very sick and tired of the sense of entitlement the unions have produced.
I've gotten to where I hate listening to Ron Paul talk. Everything he says makes sense, and no one seems to listen to him. It's such a waste people, wake up and think about what he's saying and stop repeating "Change" over and over again talking about how Obama is going to fix everything. We really need someone like Paul to have a bigger say in how we run our country or we're doomed to financial collapse.
You are so right he talks in very simple terms and he tells the truth! Obama is such a joke and thinks he can fix something over night. The only thing Obama does is just hands out money to anyone and wants to waste taxpayer's money on bailing out companies.
Ron Paul has too many messages. The one he should focus on is savings jobs. Instead of saying money might not help he should say yes this money is to save jobs and make the auto industry more competitive. Ron Paul lacks focus on jobs and the families those earnings provide for. Ron Paul is going to be in political textbooks as a typical baby boomer trying to preserve America Ideals. Also typical is how he does not realize Americans put their families first and idealisms second.
Hence why we are tired of OUR family's tax dollars going to support a failed bloated company/union with employees who make $70/hour thereby making the company unprofitable with crummy cars.
here is a message to the auto industry, either learn how to compete, or adios.

Ron Paul is a hero. He speaks the truth and should have been president. Sadly, Harper's government has voted to give a bailout to the auto industry in Canada. I disagree with bailouts. The auto manufacturers in North America stubbornly continued to build large gas guzzlers when they should have been building compact hybrids. We are paying for the auto industry's mismanagement. Another $ grab from the taxpayer. Pathetic.
It's a deliberate effort. Seeing what is going on is a simple matter of adding and subtracting. Do your really think the guys in the US Federal Reserve or US Treasury can't do simple math? They know exactly what they're doing. This is a methodical attack upon the very foundation of American and Canadian liberty. The news media tells up what we need to be concerned with and this simple math never makes the news. We're being robbed blind. Goodbye liberty, hello corporate socialist oligarchy.

"Ten peices of Legeslation WILL be passed within the first ten hours after the Enaugration" - President Elect Obama.
Four are defenitely anti gun laws and one has to do with using Chineese Military to Police The American People.
Could this be why Obama BEGGED the American People not to buy GUNS and AMMO. Is he affraid the shock troops won't be able to defend against Grandma with the 12Gauge Shotgun. I think this is the likely soloution.
We need to call in to Glenn Beck, Sean Hanity and other programs for two weeks and REMIND them, Ron Paul WAS RIGHT! Ron Paul IS RIGHT! Ron Paul IS CONSISTANTLY RIGHT!
Do this for 7 - 14 days and really wake up the people, to what is realy happining with the economy. And they'll have to eat it. Because they will have to stop taking callers to shut the people up.
I refuse to recognize Barack Hussein Obama as President of the United States of America because he is not a natural born citizen and therefore uneligible according to the U.S. Constitution. The U.S. Supreme Court refuses to even discuss the many lawsuits filed by Philip J. Berg, Alan Keyes and many others. The media refuses to discuss it. Just watch some of the videos on my page. If you agree that the U.S. Supreme court should hear the facts and make a ruling then sign our POLL and "Friend Us" x
Why dont they give the 22 billion dollars to the people who cant afford car loans to invest in a north american vehicle??? This way the publc wins and it booms the demand of the auto makers
"There is no evidence that we have the authority to take from one group and give to another that needs something".... We'll it's always worked that way accelerating upwards. I work and pay my taxes so the rich can get richer. They get that way riding on the backs of the working poor. Leve Ron Paul! Long live Ron Paul!
Wow, just learned the divorce rate in America is declining at a rapid pace ... SO LETS BAIL OUT THE MONEY-GRUBBING DIVORCE LAWYERS WHO USED TO LIVE HIGH-ON-THE-HOG LIKE THE AUTO WORKERS DO !
ron paul is my president! fuck bush, fuck cheney and fuck obama. fuck every pice of shit president we have had since kennedy was killed by the cia for blowing the cover of the bankers. everybody wake the fuck up,bad things are gonna happen. be prepared for the worse ,shoot to kill first and ask questions later.

Ron Paul, Ralph Nader, or Mike Gravel should be President NOW. MAYBE, HOPEFULLY by 2012 the American public will have suffered enough, will wake the hell up/stop being brainwashed by propaganda, and will demand it.
paul got 2.2 percent of the vote even though he wasn't on the ballot- yet the american public is guided by the media and he wasn't on the news so he wasn't in most people's minds- i can only hope he runs 2012!!
true. sometimes I wish he would get a little more angry, though, and start calling people out. A little more passion might stir up some greater opposition amongst the general public
We should BOYCOTT any and every company that confiscates our money for this bailout or ANY bailout. GM takes our money? DON'T buy any GM products! Chrysler takes our money? DON'T buy any Chrysler products! Let them and the UAW go to hell!
I admire Ron Paul but in this case I disagree with him. By the way, those carmakers for the foreign companies are trained at Community Colleges that are state and federally funded, is that Nationalization Mr. Paul? I hear the same conservative tired mantra, what's the solution? Let 'em go under? I don't think so.
i voted for Bob Barr, he's the closest to Ron Paul's ideals that we had on the roster of candidates. Ron Paul is amazing, his ideas speak for themselves and that's the genius of it - they need no advertisement to ignite millions of converted Americans
It is my understanding that these bailouts are designed to be temporary. If every thing works out, they companies can be bought again, thus restoring money back to the taxpayer and even getting some bang for the buck. On the Colbert Report, the Socialist Party Candidate explained this and why this was not socialism or nationalism.
Ron paul would best serve his interests to transform his movement into a new party, rather than run for president again.
the good thing is in couple years time or probably even less we will be able to see if he is right or not about all of these bailouts and the direction of our economy and if he is right and also in good health he could prove to be a very good candidate for 2012
Obama went to Wall Street and warned us and what he predicted is now the truth. Paul's got the same old tired conservative mantra, but where's the solution? Letting American manufacturing end? Not so patriotic.
your an obama drone, unable to think for yourself, you must like be led around and told what to think.when you get emotionally invloved in anything,Logic goes out the window,OBAMA=a pretty christmas present with nothing on the inside ,all style ,no substance.whereas Ron Paul =plain jane, nose to the grindstone, tells it like it is.all substance ,but yeAH much less style
Ron Paul has been warning people for years about greed in the system and how it would cause and economic collapse. And the federal reserve, media, and other politicians painted him as a loon. I am sorry but lunacy is exactly what our government is today.
"We have conveniently forgotten that Government produces nothing, and has nothing to give us that it does not first take from someone else who works to produce it."
The republicans must be eating their ownn s##t after they realized that obama won be cause they rather have IDIOTS like McCain and the Alaskan woman instead of this impressive politician. I would voted for Obama because I Ron Paul was not there....! hows is that for you republican losers?
Just wondering why u voted,or would of voted, for obama instead of Bob Bar or Chuck Baldwin? Obama stands for everything Ron Paul is fighting against. like i sed i was just wondering so don't take it the wrong way.
Corporate welfare, legalized robbery, robbing the poor to give to the rich...turn over the car manufacturing plants to the workers to run! Unconstitutional and unjustifiable authorization by our Congress of whores...it makes me laugh when they go after the governor of IL when they're all a bunch of prostitutes for big biz and the banking mafia...lead by example, you hypocrites! Time to clean out this Congress of vipers and NWO shills! They are supposed to serve the U.S.A., not the global elite!
Well said. And it should interest some of you that that IL Governor had connections with Tony Rezko. The same Rezko that helped Obama with a shady real estate deal. That same Tony Rezko that helped Obama win his Senate seat. The same seat the Governor was wheeling and dealing. Obama, Rezko, JJ Jr. and IL Governor are all bedfellows. Now the question is, will the CFR criminals bury the facts, threaten or murder the Governor to protect their puppet to be?
Thats what's wrong with Americans. When things are going well, they want the government to stay the heck away. When there are problems, they go running to government for help like a bunch of cry babies.
Ron Paul has been saying this for YEARS! Everything is falling into place, and you Obama "change" zombies keep chanting. Obama vote for the fanny/freddie bailout. I wouldn't be surprised if he voted for these crooks we call "American Car companies". Ron Paul is the true patriot.
I love this man, he is like a father to America. We really need to get this guy into presidency. He is our savior. He is like one of our fore father's reincarnated. He is exactly what this country needs. Ron Paul revolution is coming to a government near you!
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the REPUBLIC! for which it stands: one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all."
Wall St. THIEVES, banks, insurance companies, people who create NOTHING (but FAILED services & SCAMS)
Get TRILLIONS of OUR tax dollars NO questions asked
Then CERTAINLY the average taxpayer & the people at the HEART of our manufacturing base (albeit with ALL its flaws & shortsightedness) are going to ask questions!
I understand 2 wrongs don't make a right, but keep PERSPECTIVE as to:
Excellent speech. We are not just headed toward Nationalization, we are headed toward National Socialism. I'm afraid things will only get worse with the next administration. Although it is hard to imagine...
Just last week I saw in the papers that the big oil companies made $34 BILLION profits! And in the same paper, it said GM wanted a $34 BILLION dollar bail out... hmmm. Sounds like the possibility of a private solution without need for government involvement. But that would be stupid to suggest, wouldn't it?
First, I agree with Rep. Paul that the auto bailout is a distraction, a mere detail, compared to the nationalizations that have occurred.
Secondly, and bitterly, I have to agree with his initial remarks: the mere fact that A) the Constitution and B) basic ethics gi the State no power to take money from Peter to give to Paul.. these truths are weak arguments before the current congress and the American people.
Both law and morality are as nothing in today's America. Pathetic.
Ron Paul Im drunk its late but I had to get this out of my system before I crashed. You are brilliant. Im pounding my fists to your addresses. Revolution! This is it those that have paid attention have prepared and we are ready to fight for our liberties. Freedom our tyranny, Whats it gonna be?!
why should struggling americans bailout the auto workers with their fat union contracts. There is nobody protecting american workers in the private sector being decimated by the globalists.
That's absolutely right. In fact why join the Armed forces of this government period?
This government is encouraging globalism through it's policies. It's not protecting our right to a livelihood, why protect the rich whom they represent?
Lets go to feudalism where we are all vassals and the "nobles" go fight for their cause!
Why protect the traitorous rich or their property or their ideals when they don't secure your rights??
Talk to the Unions and the Corporatists -- they both ruined the auto industry with the help of Senior Politicians.
I don't want to welfarize your husband -- you'll be fine because in a crashing economy there are millions to be made in reconstruction. Start thinking entrepreneurially.
The bailout money has to come from somewhere. People will lose their jobs in order prop up these companies.
Also, the machinery and plants will still be there, it will just be moved to new management if they are not bailed out. There will still be jobs there.
Blame the government for ruining the industry with hyper-regulation and blame the union for being a bunch of dumb shits. It's people like your husband who will pay, and it's a damn shame.
Ron Paul should FINALLY tell his LOST party (what's left of it anyway) to SHOVE it (!) & go INDEPENDENT - to GROW the movement which DOES have BROAD support BUT would (eventually) have MUCH MORE without that TOXIC "R" tag. Not only that, but the VAST MAJORITY of Republicans will simply NEVER get it! They literally JUST CAN'T SEE into that (libertarian) window. They can't think "OUTSIDE the BOX".
FACE IT, they are by & large INCAPABLE of seeing BEYOND "Reagan" (CREDIT CARD) "conservatism".
This is why this noble man should have been our president. Common sense truth. But I also believe it is time we wake up and smell the garbage in our backyards. We NEED to buy american. GM makes at least six cars that get thirty miles to the gallon. That's what's up. I feel that in seeing the big picture we might want to be a little more patriotic when we spend our dollars. We DO make good cars. But we have come to believe otherwise because it became fashionable. Buy american folks. Lets compete.
Wrong answer about buying american. The american car companies have been guilting americans with this BS of "buy american", that they literally got away with producing second rate vehicles for years. The true answer is to buy the best vehicle that you can afford and tell your friends and family members to do the same. Then maybe the has-beens who have been resting on their laurels will get the message.
Buy a foreign car then give the thousands of dollars you will save to charity, if you want to feel patriotic and like you're doing something for the country.
Ron Paul is America's warrior! He is fighting for our liberty. What a remarkable man. Unfortunately most of America either doesn't understand or frankly doesn't give a damn.
How can they possibly understand? All that we get in school is just enough to allow us to work in a factory for a paycheck. Schools don't teach civics any more. I mean that high school students should be taught what their rights are in normal everyday situations. Like traffic stops etc. They also should be taught what the powers and limits of our government is and how it is supposed to function. But the last thing they want is a well informed citizenry.
yeah, well when you have a federal government that outlaws simple prayer and religious expression and controls pretty much all state education systems, other countries are probably going to surpass it.
Why can't you admit business gets into bed with government? It has nothing to do with the cause of liberty ("Libertarianism") and everything to do with MERCANTILISM. That is where you will find your "greed".
1.) We are not constantly monitoring the channel without interuption as we have other WORK to do.

The fact is the republicans are trying to blame labor for this issue, so they can cust the unions. Why is it OK in the minds of the republicans for executive salaries to rise by over 500% in one decade, yet so wrong for labors wages to at least keep pace with cost of living. Which by the way they haven't, look at wages from the 60's and adjust them to todays dollar and you will be shocked by how much labor has lost!!! The big three need management reform, not labor reform!!!

The Uplander, Aztek, Aveo, and dozens of other cars are the reason why these companies failed. Ugly ass cars that get poor gas miliage because they are loaded with heavy safety features mandated by the safety boards. But why these cars are ugly is because the car companies don't do proper research. Instead, the car companies ask soccer moms about style instead of the experts. Kind of like asking Homer Simpson to design a car.
All you stupid fuckers care abour is enslaving the world with marketplace price hikes to the point life is unlivable so that people all murder each other in a mass slaughter SUCKS TO BE YOU fuckers! glad you americans are a dying breed!
We've been on this slippery slope for decades. It just took a while to get here, and we're not anywhere near the worst of it. Paul's right... we're allowing nationalization of industries without a whimper. That reflects both the lack of understanding and the tacit 'ok' of the majority of citizens. We get the gov't we deserve.
How can any normal person vote thumbs down to this man? I don't care what party you support this man speaks truth end of story! How can you not support him? Are people truly that blind?!

The auto manufacturers in North America stubbornly continued to build large gas guzzlers when they should have been building compact hybrids. We are paying for the auto industry's mismanagement. Another $ grab from the taxpayer. Pathetic.

Because Gas prices were low in the 1990's hybrids were not needed.

Ron paul would best serve his interests to transform his movement into a new party, rather than run for president again.
sol3dg3 3 years ago
the good thing is in couple years time or probably even less we will be able to see if he is right or not about all of these bailouts and the direction of our economy and if he is right and also in good health he could prove to be a very good candidate for 2012

Corporate welfare, legalized robbery, robbing the poor to give to the rich...turn over the car manufacturing plants to the workers to run!
Pathetic.

The bailout money has to come from somewhere. People will lose their jobs in order prop up these companies.
Also, the machinery and plants will still be there, it will just be moved to new management if they are not bailed out. There will still be jobs there.

Lets compete.
playfyte 3 years ago
Wrong answer about buying american. The american car companies have been guilting americans with this BS of "buy american", that they literally got away with producing second rate vehicles for years. The true answer is to buy the best vehicle that you can afford and tell your friends and family members to do the same. Then maybe the has-beens who have been resting on their laurels will get the message.
