  • Wow. Never noticed this brilliant piece of music when I played through the game thing. Good thing the Indie Music Bundle brought me back!

  • Mr. Handagote: FUCKEN CABLES

  • This has got Pantha du Prince-esque sounds.

  • Blissfull

  • No comments. One of the most amazing songs ever. Respect to the Machinarium creators and the musicians.

  • i started to play the game without knowing the quality of the music.. later on i just stopped playing and started listening... only a few months later i finished the game lol all beautiful

  • @pirolitosdewhisky lol that's how this game should be played.

  • I absolutely love how this track manages to make every different "instrument" tell their own little story, but in the end the entire track is one big story, so wonderful...

  • It is very difficult to even try to imagine the mixture of thoughts Tomas had during making of this... Perfect jamming session :):):)

  • ja ti hovorim ti vole to je w pochodzie :):):):

  • Frywolne hasanie po dzwiekach zachowujac temat - Piekne :):):)

  • I guess the puzzles in this part was little bit hard so it became the most repeating melody for me in game that I started to hear it in real life.

  • greetings to Czech from Poland

  • got the album, very nice ambient music.

  • The two from The Black Cap Brotherhood disliked this :P

  • two people didn't have their speakers on =P

  • my favorite, then there's glasshouse with a butterfly and by the wall

  • Too bad this game was so short =/

  • I love how everyone commenting on these soundtracks think they're fantastic by dissing games involving violence. You idiots. A game like Halo for example - has as much narrative and musical value as this game, it's just depicted in a different fashion. Pull your heads out of your asses and open your eyes.

    Sidenote: I love this game/soundtrack :D

  • @Skarloe amen brotha!

  • Most creative game and song :)

  • Ugh, the top comments are so pretentious they could actually turn me off adventure games.

  • Beautiful!.....Fantastic game, amazing Art, great psycohlogy....

  • I am buying new headphones, since I really have to listen to this song at work too.

  • This song and By the Wall are my absolute favorite songs in the whole game. Not to say that the other songs aren't amazing as well. I feel alive when I listen to this song.

  • from time to time a genious is born

  • The best soundtrack in it!

  • I think this is the most amazing song in the game. I just stared at the bottom of the scene and listened to it

  • I really enjoyed playing this game. :)

  • the best graphic adventur on the world.

  • Wow, im playing the demo now and it reminds me of old games i used to play. Im totally buying this!!!

  • @lennieoy You won't regret it. AMAZING game.

  • im proud that i completed such a fantastic game that ill never forget

  • This is the most beautiful song!!!! :))

  • I think it madewith fl. but amazing .)))

  • @cancoydu fl is the shit

  • This gets me high.

  • I can't say anything. WOW!

  • listen to this soundtrack when you are high,it totally trips you to a different universe! so awesome

  • having listened to so many game soundtracks in my life, I found this to be truly refreshing. great job!

  • best track, company is announcing 2 new games in 2 days , fuck yeah

  • nostalgia

  • One person forgot to electrify the fence to catch the cat

  • Epic song and game !!

  • 1 guy don't like the flower garden

  • Dystopian music is one of my favourite types.

  • @XtortionB3ar Perhaps you may know some similar music to this you'd like to share? :)

  • @bokma7 Some of Ego Likeness's music is like that. Also: Blutengel, VNV Nation, KMFDM. You must understand that not ALL of their songs are like that, but there are certain ones.

  • @XtortionB3ar

    A BIG Thanky you :)

  • 1 guy is bad machine

  • Girmose1: (continues) but i do understand why u say that people need some musical experience to "feel" all that Dvorak is trying to "say" on he´s music. The robotik feeling is perfect, the note sequence is so simple and yet so sublime.. But its the middle notes and rythms that makes me wonder how could this album be better, it can´t! I have some experience in music, but i´m still lousy with software and manipulating sounds digitally u know.. really bad. but ill get there! :)

    Peace

  • Girmose1:(continues from previous post) I´m a guitar player for yrs, now i´ve been deviating to the piano more, and to strange sound and music (use to listen Alternative Rock, and still do :)) I´m surprised with your comment about people liking the music, u may or may not believe but ive been showing dvoraks music to my friends and they all love it :)

  • @diogomorgado, yeah but they're your friends, so they probably have similar tastes to you ;-)

i mean people who listen to, like, country music exclusively, or rap, or oldies, etc, anyone who exclusively listens to the radio (ie bottom rung music) and tends to not understand that the majority of music, much less ALL good music, is not found on the radio. People who's worlds are very small, who's only window to the world seem to be through the tiny filter knows as the TV, and such.

  • Girmose1: lately i´ve been experimenting in new ways to make music, while doing that i found this gem.. First i was addicted to the game, then i learned it wasn´t the game i liked best.. the rest you already know.. Great music.. i listen to almost all kinds of music (except hip hop and commercial eating brain kinda music)

  • Girmoose1: I write music like this. I love songs that make me want to get out the fiddle and/or keyboards :-). Mostly I'm an animator/programmer and love to make image match music. :-) not to sound too "hippy dippy" but that's one of my favorite artforms!

  • @thinkingmanDotCom thanks for the reply

  • Also, @girmoose1 —there are levels of harmony and tones which aren’t often heard except by those who listen to classical music a lot, as well, that’s a good thing!

  • @thinkingmanDotCom

Of course it sounds like Classical music! It's Dvorak, after all.

  • whole track is awesome but the part 1:56 to 2:35 is EPIC! :)

  • I played the whole game stoned from start to finish. It was a magical experience

  • The 1 dislike is from Bobby Kotick

  • Thumbs Up if you wanted to click on that Robot-Helicopters

  • Two best soundtracks - Mr. Handagote, and The Glasshouse With Butterfly

  • The drawings, the universe, the ambiance of the game, the marvelous songs, and the fact that this game is not talking about violence and makes all of us dream is what makes me love it more than any other game I played.

  • @ZeRafut Words of pure truth. Though nothing can bring Chrono Trigger down from my list.

  • @ZeRafut "Not talking about violence"? You must have missed what the Black Cap Brotherhood did.

  • @IceKeese When I say that and you perfeclty understand me, I mean that this game is like no other. It doesn't look like the shits coming out more and more these days like GTA or this kind of crap making you kill everybody in the place just for the fun.

  • @ZeRafut That's really a horrible misinterpretation of GTA, but otherwise, I agree.

  • jeez...

this is an insane soundtrack. and one of the best indie games to boot.

  • the best from the game by far

  • Love it!

    The best song of Machinarium!

And the best song i ever heard.

  • Why listen to anything besides electronic music?

  • Beautiful

  • One guy is deaf and blind

  • @bharat2good blind i think. Its not possible not to like this song. So he/she must have miss clicked it.

  • This is—without a doubt—one of the most brilliantly-written pieces in this history of soundtracks.

  • (continued from previous reply) require too much musical experience/exploration for most people to grasp, like the seemingly jarring and bizarre sounds Dvorak uses, whereas most people are only able to conceive that the only instruments songs can be made with are guitar, drums, piano, violin, and all those common ones. I’m amazed that other people can even listen to Handagote, much less like it, much less recognize it as incredible.

  • (continued from previous reply) So that’s why I'm curious, what kinds of music do you listen to, and/or what are you favorite songs?

  • Just bought this game from the Humble Indie Bundle 2. What a truly unique and beautiful game. Definitely one of my favorite point and click adventure games next to Grim Fandango.

  • Never has there been a game where the music so perfectly captured the atmosphere, tied it all together. Dvorak is genious.

  • @iSometimesWriteMusic

I agree, but soundtrack of God of War is perfect too.

Just... there are few games with something of this size.

Braid is definitely one of big ones just like Machinarium ;)

  • @EleKtryfier Yes, both Braid and God of War really roll with their music too (: Music in many of the popular genres of today is quite underrated, very underused. Too many almost completely silent FPS with the occasional generic action drums :l

  • @iSometimesWriteMusic

Well, if u somnetime write music, care 2 share, id like to hear :)

  • An absolute masterpiece.

  • what means Handagote?

  • @N7Space

Handa gote is japanese for "soldering iron".

  • I think this is the best chill out music ever made!

    Thanks for this song

  • i would make this game free and make a sequel to it. Sequel would be only available to thoose who completed this game and its price would be 10$. you know why ? because the ones you played this game would realise how good this game is. that's why they would support this game. and now some words to creators. I don't know what planet you are of but i know one thing. You are amazing at creating games. Music, atmosphere, characters.... i hope simple thank you will suffice.... thank you i love you

  • @Simas1990 I like what Amanita are doing now. Offering amnesty to piraters who can buy their game for 5 bucks now and get the soundtrack along with it. Sucks for people who bought it full price at 20 though. :/

  • @Simas1990

cannot but to agree with you completely ...

  • @Simas1990

cannot but to agree with you completely

  • thank you, really thank you for this game...

  • Someone disliked this? What a noob.

  • @VoiceofReasonMonkey Probably some of those tards who thinks music should be epic (those overproduced orchestrated thingys or lousy deathmetal lovers, pick your genre and insert here[--]).

I stick to music that depicts emotions by sounds and no screaming.

  • @cronoschild Calling the epic orchestral scores "Overproduced orchestral" is an incredibly close minded attitude. I hate when people try to be unorthodox or nonconformist by expressing distaste in things that are popular. Music should be epic if a scene/scenario requires epicness. This game doesn't need epic music because it's an atmospheric experience. (orchestral music conveys emotions too)

I'll agree with you that metal is aweful though. ;)

  • @VoiceofReasonMonkey yep, one of his nerve cells disliked this, and it seems the second and his last one forgot that the first already voted.

  • @VoiceofReasonMonkey 2 people thought that the DISLIKE button was the download button

  • no idea why, but I think of Deus Ex 0:58 - 1:35 ..man, what a great piece this is!

  • @ly0n3ss Hong Kong, great music for that part. Far too short

  • Amazing track from an amazin game. And music... music is beautiful, cant tell which song is better... I left opened game for hours just to listen music, especially Mr. Handagote.

    Pure masterpiece of art.

    In every way.

  • Love this track. So memorable!

Whenever I think of machinarium, this song plays.

  • This was the one song i stopped and listened to everytime i passed it, for me, its what made this game so memerable.

  • Tomas Dvorak's music makes this wonderful and funny little game even more fantastic. The music draws you in like any good art :)

  • The best music i have ever heard in my life (besides a bunch of other ones eheh), one unique game as a background, not the other way around :)

  • (continued from previous reply) So that’s why I'm curious, what kinds of music do you listen to, and/or what are you favorite songs?

  • Easily the best music I have every heard in a game. Truly something special :)

  • best song in the whole game, if not best song ive ever heard in any game lol, sucks those last few seconds of the song are mixed in for the next song.

specialy with my headset using Basboost, EAX, EQ, X-Fi CMSS-3D and X-Fi Crystalizer it sounds even better.

  • This one is my favourite from the soundtrack! Beautiful!

  • If I remember correctly this song is played where the robot who repairs the wires throws you off the ladder and the nasty owl steals one of the "keys" for the entrance :P. No spoiler! When I entered that "slide" I just had to stop because of the music. This is my favourite. Really charming game

  • @iseeu1980

you are sooo right. i remeber this as much. f*****g great

  • whats up with the dislike :O?

  • Now the question is...

    WHY IS IT CALLED THAT!?

I don't remember there ever being a reference to a "Mr. Handagote"!

  • brilliant

  • The music in Machinarium embodied the city so well... Truly incredible.

  • great music is like the soul of a great game, which immortalize it...

(i could only find such rare gems in Machinarium, Chrono Trigger, and Nifflas' games)

  • one of the very few games i purchased, and guess what... the collectors edition including this wonderful soundtrack costed me half of other (much less inspiring and innovative) games available today =)

  • Top notch................ the melody/sounds gives me the chills.

  • Alright! This was my favorite track in the game to listen to. Hehe, a dumb guy me got to listen to it quite a bit while solving the powerbox puzzle. It's such a good song, I didn't get sick of it by the time I finished! =)

  • Amazing.

  • Such unique game proves that adventure games aren't dead!

  • Very beautiful game and great soudtrack!

  • oh my gosh this song is amazing! This is my favorite game!

  • Lovelly ong. My favorite too!

  • this is my wake-up ringtone <3

  • @mithrilpurple Lol... in that case you must be late for lots of things : P

  • Best song in the entire game. It's really beautiful.

  • Best one in the soundtrack. The harps seals it for me.

  • maybe the best tune on ost... keep making quality music and games!

  • `Handagote` is a meaning called `soldering gun` in Japanese.

  • Love this Song... EXCELENT Game, EXCELENT SoundTrack... Amanita Team Gods!!! ; )

  • This music is so great, giving the game a really good ambiance. Love how the music compliments the game

  • PLAID TUNE :)

  • My favourite song (though they're all wonderful).

    Though I must wonder, what's a Handagote? :)

  • One of the best games and one of the best tracks in it, but it ain't matter really, all the tracks get along well with the surrounding in the game!

  • I just heard a bit from this in Swedish television show about Swedish food culture, boy was I surprised! =D

  • this is my fav!!

  • such a great song... such a great game =)

  • what a game

    what an ost

    supercalifragilistichespiralidosoOoOOOoO!

  • Tomáš Dvořák is a genius. This song is my favourite from the game.

  • This song is so satisfying to listen to =]

  • When I heard that synth from the start I knew this is my new favourite track. Best track from the whole soundtrack and Mr. Dvorak is a fucking genius. 5/5 Stars, Fav'd, End of Story.

  • my favourite on the soundtrack... really excellent

  • my favourite

  • While I really like this song, it's not the best in my opinion. The Glasshouse With Butterfly is the one I like the most. So relaxing and heart warming in a way.

  • It is the best music of this game....
