i don't think this puzzle is unsolvable...all puzzle in the freecell has an answer without using any glitches.you just have to think how it will be solved.
This win is not legitimate becaust the 8 of diamonds does not start out on top of the 5 of hearts and cannot be put there in a turn! There is no restart glitch in the Windows 7 version!
@lokalllize I can't remember which one it is, but after we solved #11982 we tried both. One of them is solvable with the trick. I'm on Win7 right now and I don't have freecell. If you send me a screenshot of each I could tell you which one we solved. Without the trick they're both impossible, if I remember correctly.
@JogaBonito1502 I can't send you a image but you have to see it to believe me both games -1(minus One) -2(minus two) on the windows xp are just undo able
Wtf is up with the hating? So he used exploited a glitch, and got ONE card moved. It's not like he's saying he did it alone. Everyone knows it can't be beaten for real, so what is the problem?
lol i told my father to try it, he has been trying for over 2 days now and more than 30 attempts, he said he would refuse to look up the answer on the internet and will keep playing 11982 untill he solved it. I wonder when he will find out it isnt possible in a non-cheat way.
Hey pretty cool man, but I beat it a long time ago. I took a screen shot of a winning game and edited in FreeCell Game #11982 I was pretty proud of myself.
you cleverly showed that your absurd perception of winning allowes you to dissagree with everyone else. you might convince yourself that you won, but you cant convince anyboy else
@Jibbaribba As far as I'm concerned, the game was beaten. I completed the mission of the game, which is to stack all cards, in increasing order, on their respective suit stacks. Now, that I did this without using a bug in the program would be a lie. I am aware of that. I stated that on the description if you didn't/can't read. So you can hate all you want, but that I completed the goal of the game, that can't be argued.
@JogaBonito1502 im not hating, i actually like this way of solving puzzles, and its been proven that this game by 'honest play' is actually impossible, but im just saying that beating the game this way wont mean much to aybody else.
im getting your point, but im also saying ill be one of the few
@Jibbaribba You also cleverly tried to hide all your spelling errors, which you failed at. Next time you try to criticize someone else's faults or ideas, try spell checking, kthx :P
@Psythik the glitch should work. I don't think MS spent their precious time fixing the glitch of one of their games.
As far as the music, I'll be damned. I can't remember what it's called. I pulled it from audioswap. Is there any way I can check? I've been looking around but I can't find it. When I got to audioswap, it doesn't default to the current song of the video. Sorry fellas.
With all due respect, this is not an exercise in exploiting program loopholes, it's about properly winning a particular game of Freecell, following the rules of the game.
You didn't win the game! You made a false move when you put the 8 of diamonds on the 5 of hearts! If you were playing by computer you wouldn't have been allowed to do that. So the first comment is right ---you cheated!
That's exactly why humans are smarter than computers. As far as I'm concerned, I got all the cards stacked up in the top right piles. I didn't break any rules of the game. I consider that beating it. I found a different method to achieve the same end result.
Thanks for responding. My question is still unanswered, however. How could you move the eight of diamonds to the five of hearts? That improper move was what allowed you to win the game.
That is a glitch in the game code. The cache for "undo" doesn't clear when you start a new game. So if you hit "Undo" after you start playing a second game, it will undo the last position move from the first game.
Cheater! :P I love freecell, but always wondered if all the games were solvable. I had a feeling that they were, but didn't know for sure.
Then I did some research and found out that although something like 99% is solvable, there are several unsolvable games, 11982 being the most infamous.
So far there is no mathematical proof that these games are unsolvable, or at least none that I know of. It's a guess based on the fact that no one can solve them.
Well if it can be proven that it really does all the combinations, then it is a mathematical proof.
But that requires mathematics, not just a computer program that supposedly does it.
I'm not denying that it works, I'm sure it goes through all of the possibilities, but that alone is not a mathematical proof. Not until it's shown with mathematics.
I don't know if there's another way to do it using the trick. When my friend and I got this, we just stuck to what we did. We didn't record it the first time. It was a pain to do it again after that, but we finally got it. I'm currently looking for the video of where we beat game -1 with the same trick.
It's a bug in the "undo" system, which doesn't restart the undo sequences from the memory, when the game is restarted. Just something the programmers forgot.
I believe it is a bug. I also had to use this trick when I beat game # -2. When you play a game, restart, and hit undo, it moves the last card you moved last game back to the column it was moved from even if now the card isn't there. It's hard to explain, but I found this trick on the website that challenged me to play game #11982.
Why does the game allow you to restart after a couple of moves and then permit you to undo the game so that the 8 of diamonds is moved on top of the 5 of hearts? Is this a bug in the game that allows this? Or was it planted by the developer because there is not a conventional way to solve it?
