  • it's an amazing song even though they are the only band in Antarctica.

  • That was actually a pretty decent song.

  • I saw the original concert when it was on Live Earth. Needless to say, all of you re-inspired that passion back in me when I was a little kid, helping out on Earth Day and watching Captain Planet! Thanks for helping me get back in gear! Your music is an inspiration; keep it up and maybe, with hope, we can all get out of this climate crisis of a jam!

  • How can i download their music?

  • Was just thinking about you guys tonight. Hope you're still at it!!!

  • best part about the live earth concerts but nobody remembers these guys...great band

  • we have to take care of the earth!

  • duuuuuuuuuuuude!! ok 2 things:

    1) they're awesome!

    2) OMG PINGUINS!

  • @xonyStar that was soooo random haha. loved it.

  • lol doing all of that with no gloves, gotta give them some credit

  • Wow, mad props for being able to play with cold fingers. It hurts like a bitch to play guitar in cold weather.

  • Kind of confused me 'cause there's already a punk band from Mexico that goes by this name.

  • violinist Rocks! this music is great!

  • Wow! This song is amazing.

    XD

  • Amazing... violinist rules!

  • coolest!!!

  • awsome just awsome

  • solid band. on a hilarious note, they totally pwned fallout boy in being the first band to play antartica.

PS its not even close to spank thru

  • i love that penguins

  • yeah! that was sweet!

  • good music, beautiful views and cute penguins :)

  • 2:51...the mountains look amazing.

  • this band is part of a science team investigating climate change, and they rock so good, you guys are great

  • I can't believe that the research station had equipment for a band! That's sweet!

  • The first rock concert in Antartic,

    great band!

  • @elmanuu Hi...I saw the live8 performance and really liked it too. it was cut short in the UK. is this video live? it looks it but i see no drum mikes. i read through some comments here and saw some techno-graffitti that states "science rules". well, science discovers provisional rules..but doesn't rule anything. the modern pseudo-rational faith in science is similar to as the much critiqued faith in religion.once observations showed a flat world..then they surmised ten dimensions..

  • it's similar at the Nirvana's song "Spank Thru"

  • Really incredibly great. Love it.

  • I think that getting the lyrics so that we can understand the message is important and is a reflection of our interest in the issues. If someone wants the tabs so that they can sing the song and further spread the message, I think they are to be applauded, not condemned

You are over-reacting and being very rude about it.

  • Comment removed

  • someeone has the tab for this song?

  • at least release this a single if there isn't going to be an album! this song is great.

  • i woke up at 5:30 a.m. to watch dis'

  • i would totally buy their cd if it came out

  • This was easily my favorite performance at Live Earth. You all did a FANTASTIC job. Good luck!

  • Thanks to Nunatak, BAS and NERC, I received the lyrics for both Nunatak's Live Earth songs today. They are on my inel WordPress blog. I have tried to post the lyrics here, but overrun the character limit! Watch this space ...

  • Great performing. Well, I think they prefered perform at Wembley in Live Earth... :) I'm just kidding, that iniciative was very original and interesting.

  • theyre good!! thanks for posting

  • Very cool.

I wonder how cold it was. I imagine their fingers must've been freezing.

  • Apparently it was -11 C.

  • best band from antarctica ever. great stuff!

  • Yeah represent Antarctica!!!

  • did anybody got the lyirics! God I love it! Rock on Guys

  • does anybody know how to download video from youtube?

  • I really can't get enough of this song. Are the tabs and lyrics available anywhere?

I agree with those who said that these guys were the highlight of Live Earth!

  • I have asked British Antarctic Survey for the lyrics and will post them here (and on my blog) if I get a reply and the lyrics have not already appeared by then.

  • Thank you! Looking forward to it. I've got a high frequency hearing loss so picking up all the words is really hard for me.

    Rhondalynn Brown

  • Hi Rhondalynn, I posted the lyrics from Nunatak on my blog inelDOTwordpressDOTcom

    Enjoy!

  • Got them!!!

    Thank you so much!

  • It would be awesome if at the end of the song, the ice sheet melted due to global warming and they fell into the ocean.

  • That made me LOL. XP

  • Great stuff, rock on!!

  • the best thing of live earth.

they put everyone else to shame

    and i'm not being sarcastic

  • The guys in this band are a bunch of scientists right?

  • Yeah! Science rules!

  • great song, great band

  • You guys seriously rock. You were the absolute highlight of the Live Earth spectacle, and I really love that song. I hope to be able to catch your tunes on cd, via iTunes or something similar soon. Greetings from sunny Germany to the endless Polar night from Marlies

  • Hi everyone to find out more about Nunatak check out British Antarctic Survey's website. URL on the clip. Follow links to press releases for background biogs and more.

  • this is a great song. they are like a sub-zero dave matthews band

  • Nunatak is honestly just as good as any of the other considerably mainstream indie bands that acheive success in North America. I doubt that they would sound out of place at all on public radio.

    Nunatak, put out a record!

  • Heck yay.

  • You guys should come tour in America you rule!! Come to Connecticut. Waterbury!!!!

    Indian Fighter out.

  • well this is my teachers friends band and she wanted us all to whatch it so i did and it is pretty good!!!

  • they are so cool

  • post lyrics please

  • do you keep in contact with the other research stations on the conintent?

  • I was so sad to have missed this concert, as I only got to see about a half hour of Live Earth. So glad to have gotten the chance to listen to these guys here.

Antarctica is so lucky to have hosted (what I assume to be) the best concert of all :)

  • Hey :)

    Nunatak are so great!

For everyone on Facebook, I've set-up a fan group ;)

    Just search groups for 'Nunatak'!

    TJ

  • So great! Long live Nunatak! When do they make their own cd?

  • Fabulous to see all these great comments about a fantastic bunch of people. So far you can only get the music by watching these videos... but we'll keep ya posted if that changes. LC

  • 0k.

  • where can i find these guy's music

  • U guys just totally rock! :]

It must be good to finally be out of Polar Night.

  • Nunatak rules! Fiddle fucking amazing!

We all want an EP more soon possible!

    You are awesome!

  • Great Music! Great Spirit! I checked in with friends hosting viewing parties throughout the U.S. There was no question that Nunatak got the biggest response of all the acts. Bravo Nunatak! Finally Certified Organic Music...guaranteed to feed starving souls. I am overjoyed that the penguins finally have some spokespersons that can go to bat for them. Thanks for the inspiration. Wishing you all peace, blessings and great success

  • where can i get this songggggg

  • go on freewebs and search david norris

  • Just awesome! Great! The best concert of Live Earth!

  • I don't know it Matt will read these comments but if not someone from the antarctic survey could pass it on. Drummer Dave says Rock On !

  • yep ... all the comments here will be sent down to Matt and co at Rothera, if not seen, already ... thanks

  • Thats just awesome guys. Love it.

  • Brilliant, well done.

  • I've been there in the antarctic summer in february this year and ALL of them are doing a very great job!!! THEY know very well about the melting ice!!! So listen to them carefully and react! The penguins will thank you all!!!

  • One of the best bands I´ve ever heard in my hole fuckin´ life!!!

  • Wow.

That was just beautiful. Good on ya.

Can someone post the lyrics to this?

    You guys are awesome!!!!!!! <3<3

  • WoW!!! Awesome job! Of the entire concert, your performance was by far my favorite. Good luck with your research. I hope we can save the polar bears and seals, and all the other arctic animals whose enviorment is in turmoil.

  • Thanks for great comment. Although polar bears live in the Arctic the work that Nunatak do in the Antarctic has an impact on the whole planet.

  • Sorry for the mistake in environments for the polar bears. Nunatak is doing a really great thing, they are making more people aware of the changes in the Antarctic environment, and how it's effecting everything. You all have my best wishes; I know you guys will make a difference.

  • @AntarcticSurvey Hi...I saw the live8 performance and really liked it too. it was cut short in the UK. is this video live? it looks it but i see no drum mikes. i read through some comments here and saw some techno-graffitti that states "science rules". well, science discovers provisional rules..but doesn't rule anything. the modern pseudo-rational faith in science is similar to as the much critiqued faith in religion.once observations showed a flat world..then they surmised ten dimensions..

  • sorry about the repetions..not deliberate

  • you guys are brill beyond compare

  • Well done. Without any doubt it deserves to be included in Live Earth, and it brought a seventh continent to the concert.

  • Great song, guys! I was really looking forward to hearing you guys, since you're on the front lines of climate research. Keep on rockin' with the penguins!

  • They Friggin rock for a bunch of scientists!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

  • ATTN HATERS: No this is obviously not live, but who the hell cares, they took the time to do this for your entertainment so who the hell cares.

  • This song was created by Think of anything (Lancaster Uni Band) Me, Matt (singer & guitarist Nunatak) Tom Hopper and Joe Wellwood

  • This is so amazing! I love it, great job!!!!

  • Im still not completely convinced of global warming but i still think energy conservation is incredibly important and the need for fewer emissions is huge. Live earth is putting a really important message out and i thought it was a great show for the most part. Dave Matthews was amazing, these guys were good too

  • So what if it's live or not? It's still an awesome song with an important message!!!

  • Uh folks... this is NOT live. It's currently winter in Antarctica and NIGHT 24/7. Live Earth my ass

  • Oh stop. Did you want them to film this to suit you?

  • It's still a great film and cute song and likable band, it just seems unlikely that the stringed instruments and sax could be kept in tune in that environment. But the setting looks great, whenever it was filmed, even if they're just pretend playing to a playback!

  • Their station is Rothera (S 67.5 degrees), which has gotten out of polar night already, I presume (Antarctic Circle = 66.5 S), even if only for one hour.

  • you're awesome! hope there will be more?!

  • they where performing for all of us...and not just that, they're actually dedicating their lives researching one of the biggest threats of the Global Warming in a very harsh environment...a true symbol of the best of humankind...and for all the comments about stupid technisisms...who cares if it was seconds dellayed and edited...even if shakira was shaking her boom-boom as you saw her...this guys trully represented what the whole 'LIVE EARTH' was really about! ;D

  • they performing for themseleves lol

  • (continued from below) This one seals the deal. I doubt VERY seriously that they ALL decided that they were going to go wireless. There's not one cable to be seen. (the microphone, the guitar etc...) So much for "LIVE" Earth

  • dude: get over it.

  • (continued from post below) If you go to 1:55 you will hear and see the Fiddle/Violin playing ONE note but WATCH him switch to the high E(?) string. The note stays the same. Satellite delay can't be argued because if you go to 2:06, you hear and see the snare drum hit together.

  • Wait a minute... I have a question to the "live" authenticity of this performance. at :50 to :58 seconds both cameramen are close up to the singer and it can be argued (maybe) that ONE of them might be zoomed in. The OTHER Camera however is clearly right up there because of his "sideways" movement. At :59 there is a wide shot... but you see NO camermen there. (see other post for proof this was an edited performance)

  • does the zoom exist?

  • Nunatak a band to remember. The best one of all! You people are the best group I have seen in a long time. Let's hear more of you in the future. The penguins were a plus! Good luck to you all and thank you so much for the great performance.

  • I love you guys, keep on rocking AND saving the world, peace <3

  • This is my favorite song it rocks a lot. You guys made Live Earth even watchable.

  • Loved it...loved it...loved it...saw you live on Live Earth yesterday...absolutely fantastic...the best peformance in the entire concert...you are true rockers...all the best to you...stay warm...and thanks for sharing your excellent music and message with the planet...

  • I put one of your video on my blog ;-) Great ice music from your scientific group, I love it !!

  • This was the highlight of Live Earth. These people are really living it. Good on you.

  • Sounds great!!! Missed the performance on LiveEarth, but had heard of you before on the news, and was happy to find this on YouTube. Keep up the great work...definite talent!!

  • Best thing on Live Earth. Brilliant.

  • This was easily the best performance of the entire Live Earth event! Kudos and godspeed!

    Smintjes, Belgium

  • Absolutely stellar performance. If everything else had fallen through and only this show made it to stage, it would have still been a great event. Amazing show. I hope this keeps coming, long after the work there is done.

  • This was one of the best songs on Live Earth. I really love it. Raw and excellant Rock n Roll. You should release this song immediatly as a single.

  • :)git

  • Loved that song when I heard it yesterday. Really well done!

  • WoW! Pzdr

  • It will be nice when in 2009 these guys can tour. Please come to the WI/MN area. These guys and gal sound awesome!! The best of Live Earth.

  • you guys are incredible

    more power to you

    and earth

  • Oh wow... these guys were great. Better than anyone else on Live Earth. Yes indeed.

  • This was the sole event I was looking for on Live Earth. The rest was just filler.

  • Same here!

  • perfect performance!...perfect setting!...perfect attitude!...thank you guys for making LIVE EARTH a trully global event by representing Antarctica!...receive a huge hug all the way from Puerto Rico ;)

  • Thanks * 1e6 to Matt, Triss, Rob, Ali and Roger for

playing the toughest room on the planet. All of you

have real jobs -- but still, in your spare moments

    (ha!), you rock.

Best wishes to everyone in your enforced exiles!

  • Awesome!! The best at Live Earth! Well not AT but ya know what I mean... ;-) you guys (and Ali) rock!

Congrats on ur new found fame...

  • Yes! I'm inspired!

  • The spirit of Live Earth. Rock on and on!

  • Enjoyed it immensely, you guys have representation yet?

  • this was so amazing, great song too!

  • These guys were my favorite today on Live Earth! I would buy a CD.

  • Rather than buying a CD that carries with its manufacture the plastic wrap, plastic cover, and CD, why not legally download the song?
