im a liverpool support and like alonso, however saw the diego goal and diego's goal was from further out going by the circle on the halfway line, alonso shot from just inside it and diego shot from just outside it, i think both were hard to do but there was no one in goal when diego shot, and with alonso the goalie slipped which helped also, i think both are equal but i prefer alonso's due to being more pressure on him to release ball quickly

From my examination of the videos in question... I would suggest that Diego's goal was from about 60 metres and Xabi's goal from about 57/8 metres
