  • to JWTX: I'm confused about your 'One World Order' section. I don't see how the fence is preventing that. It would be political suicide for the United States to 'conquer' Mexico, if that's where you're headed. Please explain further. Also, In the last two typings of your name I misspelled it. Apologies!

  • To Auroret (to JWTX:I'm confused) - Very sorry about the delay in this response - I just saw your response today (7/15/07). My wife and I have some errands to do right now - will get back to you soon - Thx

  • To Auroret (to JWTX:I'm confused)I again must apologize for the rush;I lost this place,:-). Briefly: I get my guidance for communicating with my representatives in Congress form the numbersusadotcom. It is one of the reliable sources for information I have found. Simple registration and very helpful for the simple folks like myself. Again briefly: I started getting upset with our gavernment when Clinton allowed missle guidance technology to get into chinese military hands.Thx again - later.

  • To JWTX: Oh goodness now I'm even more confused. Could you please continue with your point? I'm curious and would like to hear what you have to say on the matter. Sorry for the delay in replying.

  • After there is enough solar power and wind power, we can focus on improving Mexico.

  • to JWTX: How will this fence affect our global relations? Already there have been riots in other countries over /us/. Our public image is currently at a heavy low, and I'm sure this fence isn't going to help. [c]

  • The fence can help this country improve it's security.

  • to JTWX: One must also look at the reasons why most immigrants are coming to the United States. the Majority of them come because they're seeking better conditions/wages/family already here/etc. I just think (Note this is an opinion) That we could do something more constructive with the roughly two billion dollars we're spending on the fence. Say...Flood the money into their economy? [c]

  • Our country can save more money on health care if we have a security fence instead.

  • Please explain further.

  • to JTWX: Oh no, it's quite fine. I do like to hear all points during a topic discussion and I'm glad you covered all the areas you're defending.

Unfortunately for the people of the United States, the growing companies will most likely NOT update their methods. Why? Because change is exspensive.

It's cheaper for them to keep the system they currently have, and in a world ruled by money, I'm sure that option seems very appealing to them. [c]

  • IMO this is the biggest nonissue going. We don't need a fence. We need to ENFORCE the law on the books--signed by Reagan in '86. Specifically, fine employers and the illegals go home. They're not here for Taco Bell and Monday night football. Furthermore, Bush is trying to prevent the GOP from becoming the Know nothing Party of the 1800's. To win elections you need about 40% of the hispanic vote. Shit on Latino culture and it ain't happening.

  • Either Bush is 'mad' or he is in lockstep with Kennedy and the Dems to go along with the shamnesty bill in return for their not cutting off funds for the Iraq war. The possibility of winning the war is his only possibility of salvaging his otherwise miserable presidency.

  • The Bushites in the Senate will likely pass the shamnesty bill but the House of Representatives is another battle that could be won and stop this travesty. numbersusa dot com grassfire dot org and congress dot org If you feel strongly against this bill get 'on top' of your Congressman and stay there or our country will be just a faint memory of the one we grew up in. Bush does not want to seal the borders to Mexico or Canada. He's had the authority and money for a long time.

  • You got it right there, Bingo. I use Numbersusa. I'll check those others out. Thx

  • 1. The border fence has stopped 95% of illegal immigration along the San Diego-Tijuana border area. Double layer fences work, and that is precisely why they arent being built. Source: Congressional Research Office.

    2. Cross-border illegal immigration accounts for about half of illegal immigration. The U.S. must establish the U.S.-Visit program and fund ICE to find and deport illegal aliens, who over-stayed their visas.

The fence is cheap, and it works! But it is only part of the answer.

  • Bush is an IDIOT! I voted for him twice and shame on me. What a moron. Who is pulling his strings. If they pass this bill you will see timetables removed from further Iraq spending bills. That is why he is pushing this POS bill! B.E.F Border Enforcement First.

  • Did the same; I agree !

  • We should use a HIGH VOLTAGE fence imo...

  • It is sad that it takes fences, but if people will not honor the sovereignty of our country, this is what it will take.

  • Smoother than Wallace & not from my native South, thank God, but no less a bigot. He's grabbed this & run with it neither due to philosophy or objective truth, but because it's a button to push with folks who've decided to make Latinos the next ethnic group we oppress & ride it to the White House. The Founders were at least aware their bigotries and 2/3 rules were a sham & had the grace to generally be ashamed of it.

  • Would you listen to yourself? No one is complaining about Latinos who come here legally (okay, a few are, but mostly not). People are complaining about aliens who enter the country ILLEGALLY. And it's not just Latinos, it's EVERYBODY. Latinos simply are the largest group because they have the easiest access and they are leaving their own screwed up countries in droves.

It's not race, it's security. So shut up!

  • Couldn't have said it better myself. You are a great American!

  • This isnt about stopping migrant workers. Its about knowing who is coming over the border..whether u are a day laborer, drug dealer or terrorist. Whether you are bringing over a disease, a child molestor sneaking in, or are smuggling in a bio-terror weapon. This is reality people. All that happy talk sounds great, but we arent running a chamber of commerce. Tom is trying to restore the US to what it once was...not allowing it to fall victim to the 3rd world cultures with no flush toilet.

  • here are 20 angels in this world

    10 are sleeping

    9 are playing

    1 is reading this

    put this on 4 videos comments,within 15 mins,if u do,sum one u love will suprise u sum how!!if u dont u will lose ur love!!

  • Secure Border Recipe - Build double wall w/patrol median, man w/troops, line w/mines, lace w/technology, and top w/razor-wire; serve on orders shoot to kill. Pair w/a strong "Borders, Language, and Culture" appellated wine of structured legal immigration. Enjoy effective border security for generations to come! Three snaps - De·li·cioUS!!

  • do you know whats happened to gangstaelijah, is he stiil banned\/

  • Thanks Tom. A Voice of reason. I just moved to Miami from the United States and can't believe this place has turned into a third world dump in 20 years since I was last here.

  • Thanks asknotazs. A voice of reason. I just went to visit my friend in congo-brazzaville and can't believethe first world city it turned into in the last 10 years. Its like your pain is our gain- you say that in us no?

  • How DARE YOU insult my city?!! It's probably better than the crap-hole you're living in. Jeez, you and Tancredo need a good dose of cuban coffee to get some common sense in you two.

  • good point, well said.

  • building a fence is a ridiculous waste of my tax dollars. The U.S. is supposed to be a free country, a beacon for liberty. We wouldn't have nearly as many illegals in this country if it wasn't so beaurocratically difficult and expensive to get in. How about just have anyone that wants to live in this country pay for a $50 criminal background check and sign a piece of paper? Couldn't classify them as illegals then.

  • No fence in history have every worked: Great Wall of China and Berlin Wall being my examples. My question to Tancredo is knowing the history of so-called "walls", how would he insure us that this wall would not become a historical tragedy.

  • I'm sorry, where did you learn the Great Wall was ever penetrated directly?

And I don't believe 10,000 people/day ever crossed from either direction of East Berlin for 28 years.

Everyone knows Berlin was nothing but to placate the Russians (and Stalin) from complete emasculation.

We, as TRUE AMERICANS NEED TO REALLY THINK!

Please, there is now, an even larger "Wall of China" in the name of trade!

  • i didn't say that the walls were ever penetrated directly...i said the "walls" didn't fullfill its purpose. And eventually the walls now cease to exist or was discontinued.

  • yeah...that's a coherent and mature response

  • This is exactly why we should invest in more TECHNOLOGY which can do a better job than what the border patrol agents are capable of. Our focus should be to replace tasks of humans just so it will be much CHEAPER in the LONG-RUN.

  • I don't think Tancredo's position is racist. You have to live in a border state to 'feel the pain' of having to 'push 1 for English' when you make a phone call. English is our language and we don't go to these extremes for Italians, Germans or any other ethnic groups. I have many Hispanic friends who assimilate into our culture while maintaining theirs but too many don't assimilate. P.S. the illegals are treated like slave labor by business and agriculture.

  • You get an A+ for that comment.Thx

  • Amen.

  • The problem is finding local organizations that don't hold any biases at all for any particular country and don't take advantage of certain resources or findings for the betterment of a certain country (e.g. USA). By using honest, hardworking local organizations to find solutions to the problems that the countries face, I feel that illegal immigration will be reduced.

  • The problem with American funding in the past to these countries is that the money went to the corrupt heads of these countries' governments, who tended to use the money for their own gain. If we send many local organizations into these countries to understand the problems in these countries and develop possible solutions to these problems, I feel that conditions in these countries can get better and people in these countries can be happier that illegal immigration won't be a problem anymore.

  • I don't feel that this border fence is the best solution. We have to get to the root of the problem: Why are these immigrants deciding to immigrant illegally? Many immigrants want to come to the U.S.A because of the harsh conditions in their countries. If the conditions are so bad, the U.S.A should be funding local American organizations (NGOs) to go into these countries and help in making these countries better.

  • Illegal Mexicans migrate because the Mexican Govt is telling them the land belongs to Mexico. What they don't tell them is that we paid for the land twice, and even had a war over it.

    :/

  • He does not speak or seek real freedom. Half of your working life you will work for the government, soon to be 70% of your working life. He would not know true freedom if it jumped up and bit you in the ass!!!

  • Ron Paul 2008! Brief overview of Ron Paul's Record: He has never voted to raise taxes. He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. He has never voted to raise congressional pay. He has never taken a government-paid junket. He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. He voted against the Patriot Act. He voted against regulating the Internet. He voted against the Iraq war.
  • yea vote for ron paul

  • TANCREDO MY HERO

  • Why does a 52 year old need a hero? Be your own hero or go live with your daddy and mommy.

  • People don't always follow the 'flow' the fence is meant to cause, (Several hundred have been caught simply using ladders to climb over the fence where they would will), but it makes us look More barbaric in a time when bad publicity is the last thing we need. Considering the enormous amounts of money spent on the Iraq War everyday, making this fence is just another drain that's not going to work.

  • I agree - BUT - that fence is just a VERY good FIRST STEP; with cooperation of the congress we can send President Bush back home and get on with maintaining a proud and strong AMERICA ! ! !

Pay attention; it's in progress. We hire those in the military (FBI, ICE, Border Patrol, whatever is appropriate) to defend the U.S. against foriegn invaders. The delays are now being caused by those who think like you and are also aiding and abetting criminals.

  • That's what people said about helping the African Americans to freedom two hundred years ago-That they were aiding criminals. If there are any criminals that we should be pointing fingers at, it's our own government.

Noone complained about whether the Immigrants were illegal or when we were building a continent-spanning railroad, but now I guess politicians just need something new to gripe about.

What happens when the Baby Boomers retire? You won't be whining about Immigrants then.

  • I won't disagree, for the moment, with the first two paragraphs. I am having a senior moment about the boomers retiring; What will happen when the boomers retire?

  • I do apologise for my lack of civil reply to your last comment.

Population graphs show that the 'X' generation-the Generation born after the boomers-will not be able to support economic growth on its own.

The government speculates even with the immigrant influx, we'll have a chance of being short on workers. we're probably looking at dropping a peg on the global market... If China does not call in the debt we owe them first, that is.

  • (Part 1) (To Auroret: I do apol...) : Forgotten. I stand somewhat confused about "Boomers"; as I was thinking they were the offspring of the many GIs returning from Europe and Japan after WWII. (1946-1950) Many of these are of retirement age now; or at least trying to retire. I stand corrected on that point. I do remember the 1960's "Free Love" era that also generated a surge in population. If you click on the "JWTX" you might understand why I think that. (My age) (See Part 2)

  • (Part 2) (To Auroret): You state: "we'll have a chance of being short on workers". I believe that situation is very fluid and unpredictable. Our school system is not supplying Hi-tech workers, true; so; therefore we should have a large crew of American cotton pickers ( :-) (fruit pickers if you wish) Also this manual work of fruit picking can be mechanized by current technologies to make it attractive to American workers. Manual labor may become outdated. (See part 3)

  • (Part 3) (To Auroret): My strong opinion: If the growers cannot make a go of it without, what is literally, SLAVE labor; then they need to change their outlook and methods OR close up shop and let someone else who CAN, take over their operation. We, the American citizens, eliminated salve labor once before and I think this is a very good time to do it again. I have not mentioned the security aspect of opening our borders, YET. (See part 4)

  • (Part 4) (To Auroret): The administration ignoring the border is a very minor step in the extremely scary (and very obvious) agenda of setting up a "One World Order" . I will end this little "Speech" by saying: The moral of the military will be completely destroyed if our southern border of the U.S. is 100% defended. There's more to say; but; sorry about the length of this response. I try to not do that again; I do get carried away. Thanks for your kind response. (END)

  • "The moral of the military will be completely destroyed if our southern border of the U.S. is 100% defended." You're a liar and you posted a bunch of comments. Security is good.

  • Tancredo, why don't you bring you 'Dixie Whistling' friends from Columbia, S.C. - you know, the League of the South with their Confederate Flags and the Picture of Robert E. Lee! God Bless America... by the way, don't forget your Catholic Roots and Catholic Teachings on the dignity of the Human Person!

  • minutemen report indicates building the fence has slow the invasion into the USA by 60% and the fence isn't even near being built.

  • I agree; that fence is just a VERY good FIRST STEP; with cooperation of the congress we can send President Bush back home and get on with maintaining a proud and strong AMERICA ! ! !

  • This will accomplish nothing. This will cost millions of dollars a year to maybe find one or two illegal immigrants. Not a logical use of cash. The only thing this impotent government can do is waste waste and waste some more and ask the American citizen to conserve.

  • No better way to spend our tax money, than to round up Illegal immigrants (Invaders) and send them packing. That's what I'm paying taxes for. If you don't think so, find another country that don't.

  • And you will cry your eyes out when you need a head of lettuce and have to pay 8 dollars a pop! Not only that, when you need a roof done you will have to pay $50,000 for that. You arent going to "round them all up" and "send them a packing" if you think that is the case, sorry but you are living in a fantasy.

  • I recognize the exaggeration. That will never happen. The U.S. was a sovereign and independent nation; able to support itself with current citizen workers. What is needed to replace the illegal (Invaders of the U.S.) workers (fruit pickers, etc.) will be designed and built by our mechanical engineers. Have you seen the numerous harvesting machines in use today? You are condoning and encouraging SLAVERY, just by suggesting we legalize the U.S. invaders. Also you are aiding and abetting criminals.

  • You say: "Round em up" as if that was a fantasy. Pay attention; it's in progress. We hire those in the military (FBI, ICE, Border Patrol, whatever is appropriate) to defend the U.S. against foriegn invaders. The delays are now being caused by those who think like you and are also aiding and abetting criminals. Now, either lead follow or get out of the way; we are cleaning house ! ! ! You have a good one.

  • I am for giving good people the right to work. The United States on average has a 4.2 percent unemployment rate. The roughly 126,000,000 who are subject to that figure arent going to bother themselves with picking lettuce or fixing roofs. Americans are arrogant that way. Give decent people a right to work.

  • First: Illegals have - NO RIGHTS - in this country; Our constitution is for citizens of U.S. ONLY. (My STRONG opinion)

Second: If it is actually true that the working conditions while picking lettuce (etc.) are so uninviting to americans; then; I see that as a problem to be handled by the grower (Close it down or fix it; maybe with technology) (maybe with new methods which CAN BE handled by the Americans he can hire. NOT BY DESTROYING AMERICA. I think I'm right - how about you?

  • "Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

  • I like that the sound of that as well as the author did. The U.S. has followed this philosophy since it was written. The procedure for that process has worked well. Laws should be made only when cool heads prevail and followed when emotions threaten chaos. You pick it - Laws or Emotions - Order or chaos. Have a good one. Thx

  • Historically immigration has only worked as long as it benefited the state ie cheap labor, ready to fight troops etc. You speak of precedence, and while I do support a man's inherent right to work (that being the logical end to this issue)

  • I appreciate your kind responses and respect your opinions. I think we have chaos . . . but . . . . . Thanks again.

  • And I you!

  • The fact that the United States had once declared amnesty to millions of illegals in 1976 or thereabouts if memory serves. That was a bad move, but let us treat everyone subject to laws with respect and dignity. Without that we lose the egaletarian spirit to which this country was founded upon.

  • I dont agree with the President often, but a guest worker program makes the most sense. Moreover, you believe that the law enforcement entities of this nation are unilaterally devoted to deporting the immigrants that takes away from a real threat of terrorism. I have many friends who are illegal immigrants, and all they want is a chance to feed their families. National policy should be forcing Mexico to take responsiblity for its economy instead of forcing it's citizens to fend for themselves.

  • (Response to your original "This will accomplish nothing"): The -amount of cash - we spend finding, prosecuting and deporting illegals is not seen by other countries; only the fact that we did not bother. You do understand precedence, I'm sure. It's VERY strong stuff. It caused our current problems. (That is if you accept there is a problem) Otherwise, I'm wasting my breath - Have a good one.

  • The idea of a fence & drones keeping illegals out is absurd. Any candidate that talks about it positively is just pandering for votes.

  • Pay attention; it's in progress. We hire those in the military (FBI, ICE, Border Patrol, whatever is appropriate) to defend the U.S. against foriegn invaders. The delays are now being caused by those who think like you and are also aiding and abetting criminals.

  • duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude..

the moment someone brings up FENCING some 7oo-miles

    of Mexican-American Border when:

    (a) GOP can't defend the Canadian Border from TB flagged sickos,

    (b) Tech jobs go to India via OUTSOURCING..

    can you say "racism"?

  • da-duuuuuuuuuuuude..

Pre 9/11, terrorists tried to come from British Columbia to bomb LA International Airport.

The threat of terrorism & job loss is at the Canadian Border and Big Business (like Haliburton) evading taxes and taking job out of America.

Attacking food pickers? haha are you serious????

  • A lot of people tend to bash businesses for hiring illegal aliens. A few years ago, the government passed laws requiring businesses to have all employees produce documentation to complete I-9's. Guess what happened, illegal aliens produced fake documents. Do we want every small business owner to be as effective as the FBI in trying to determine if the documents are authentic. Another solution that didn't solve the problem. It created an additional burden on employers.

  • If the "Employers" have any interest in maintaining the sovereignty of the U.S.(That's called PRIDE in Country), they WILL do it volutarily and then brag about it proudly; and rightly so. Now, either lead follow or get out of the way; we are cleaning house ! ! ! You have a good one

  • Most employers are complying with the law and collecting the proper documents. By "voluntarily", are you suggesting that employers should douth the authenticity of the documents provided by any non white or foreign looking employees? I think they call that racism and we have passed laws to reinforce the "all men are created equal" part of the Declaration of Independence. by the way, all of the signers were descendents of immigrants.

  • (1) (mikedelmar2 - Most employers are complying with the law): The currrent situation in the U.S. calls for more drastic measures; you are saying it's racism. (I can only guess why) Are you willing to "go to the cross" for these illegals?

  • (2) (mikedelmar2 - Most employers are complying with the law): Also consider the "All men are created equal": the framers had slaves and killed off the indians; I think they were speaking only about the new colonists when writing the "All men are created equal". I think we would know if it they were not. Anyway; think what you will; I stick by my comment that the U.S. Constition was written for U.S. Citizen ONLY. Have a good one. Long Live America ! !

  • I meant demand side.

  • The fence is a waste of money. We need a President who will do something to address the problem, not the symptom. Mexicans will continue to come to America as long as we don't have enough workers to fill all the jobs in our economy and as long as their corrupt and incompetent leadership fails to create an economy that will provide them the opportunity to make a better life in their hometowns.

With the low birthrate in the US, we need to allow greater immigration.

  • yes, but not as huge as it has been. The dirty truth is that business interests really want to stop illegal immigration - it gives them a cheap source of labor. With a fence, Republicans have have it both ways. Appear to do something for the xenophobe and lower class, but not piss of their business base by actually doing something.

  • I believe your basic thought is valid; but I disagree with the solution. Have a good one!

  • Ya way to go TOM. at least your on the right track. build it and thay will stop.

  • No they wont. Don't you get it, this is just to give the appearance of doing something. Businesses, who form a large part of the republican base, don't want to fix the problem - they benefit from illegal labor bigtime. If they really wanted to do something they would enforce hiring laws.

  • Cheap labor? come on realy,If big businesses wants cheaper labor thay move to out of the US. what we are talking about is realy the voter base. but lets not go there. realy we need to do something look at the russins of the 50's -60's the wall- thay did well why cant we. all im saying is that we need to stop all illegal's butt cold. till we can come up with a fix.

  • ...huh?

  • Tom Tancredo for President

  • Tom for Prez!!!

  • Why aren't you running Homeland Security?

Instead we got a demented skeleton running it.

    Bush is insane.

  • I second that, abcmole! (and I voted for him)

  • GIVE EM HELL TOM!

  • this country was built on immigration NOT INVaSION

  • This second-generation Italian-American seems to be a one-issue candidate. Where is he on abortion? minimum wage? and that war we have going on?

  • People need to separate racism from curbing illegal immigration. They ARE mutually exclusive in the need to secure our borders. Its about documentation and accountability of ALL persons seeking entry. People screaming that it's a movement against Mexicans (in general) are either unintelligent or deliberately trying to change the focus.

  • you're a total idiot. it isn't about ridding the USA of immigration, it is about ridding the US of ILLEGAL immigration! I don't care if you are white, black, hispanic, or mongolian! I don't want you in my country illegally!!!!!!!!!

  • This man is SMART, and he cares about our country. He absolutely gets my vote. -- E.J. Wilson, Phippsburg, Colorado

  • I have never voted before because i have never found a candidate that i agreed with wholeheartedly and one i could trust. I AM VOTING FOR TOM TANCREDO!

  • Congratulations! Mr. Tancredo has a common sense approach unlike most other politicians who are merely 'shilling' for big business or big labor. Unfortunately, he will have to be beholden to one or the other of these controlling interests to get the money needed to win the presidency should he be nominated.

  • anything is bettre than the 3 mile swe have now from whimpy bush!

  • I love it when he makes vids like this!

  • Interesting... too bad you won't make it past the primaries--nice try though. Next time you may want to reevaluate your position on life.

  • IF HE DOES NOT Make him the Homeland Security Chief! And incharge of deportations!

  • AMEN@Star!

  • Reevaluate his position on life? Could you elaborate on that comment?

  • Yeah. What is his position on life? Is he pro choice?

  • Rep. Tancredo is one hundred percent pro-life. He has consistently recieved a score of "100" from the National Right to Life Committee. If someone is seeking to vote for a pro-life candidate, Rep. Tancredo is an outstanding choice.

  • Is he for giving women that get abortions the death penalty? If not I won't vote for him. It's murder and they should die.

  • i am sorry for you and yours

  • Great! Thank you so much for the clarification! I've been trying to get someone who knows what they are talking about to help explain the specifics of the border fence to me. Everyone talks about the fence, but drones? I haven't heard that mentioned before. Thanks!
