This movie looks like it was made in the 70s, and I just love this song : ) Characters great, esp bad ass Samuel L Jackson. But De Niro gives me the creeps...urgh!
1:06 to 1:12 you can see the shadows of the camera crew behind Pam Grier. I just like looking for that shit. Lol seeing camera crews shadows or even reflections is funny. BTW This movie kicks-ass!!!
That simple moment when she's in the mall, eyes peeping out the scene, the settling of the music before the chorus explodes again; EVERYTHING I want to put on paper.
Am I the only one who was seriously contemplating whether or not this woman was a transvestite?... Until I read the comments... Guess I'd "get it" if I had ever seen this movie.
She doesn't look black at all! I'm always thinkin' she's latina or indian or some weird mixture of race the whole time. so weird. I know this movie is from the early 90's but damn! can't stand the huge hair and shoulder pads on that oversized jacket/uniform. and those shoes and the tights...so 90's man!
You obviously haven't seen any blacksploitation movies, because she was the main character in half of them, most famously playing "Foxy Brown" in 1972, and yes she is a "Redbone" mixed with cherokee, hence her facial features and nose, but she classifys herself as black. I'm half white, and half black and cherokee and i'm considered black even though i'm less than half and hell even Mariah Carrey considers herself black and she can't be more than 1/4 black and 3/4 white.
@jamesdutoit Even if someone bought a copy of the film from WalMart, the Mecca of child labor, for 3 bucks, only about 10 cents or so would go to Pam :p
@jamesdutoit Except for the whole WalMart thing, I agree wholeheartedly. If we want artists to keep devoting all their time to making music and movies, we should have enough gratitude to make sure they're justly compensated.
@excellent4ever I agree. She has the most beautiful bone structure of all the women of color I have ever seen. Halle Berry doesn't hold a candle to Pam! :)
I really love this scene... But I just can't help notice the rectangular cover and the guy walking behind it who had to block the camera/camera dolly in the blue wall reflection...
Can you please post the last 5 minutes of this movie which i truly consider the best music segment of Jackie Brown where Pam Grier asks Robert Forrester (Max Cherry) if he wants to come with him. He says No & as Grier drives away the music of Bobby Womack Across 110th plays. That's one of the coolest endings ever!!!
lol i live around the area where they filmed this. First she's driving down Sepulveda and the next second she's driving down Hawthorne a few miles away haha.
OMG I've had this song in my head 'coz I just read the book 'The Beach' by Alex Garland (I recommend it) and that song is mentioned in there... I really needed to listen to it lol so thanks for posting.
Bella canzone..........mi fa venire voglia di bere uno spritz!

@iammabbella Cosa significa??
avamposto 1 year ago
@avamposto
