Surely S&S did the retro style shovel upgrade justice. Though I never did understand why their engineers didn't add the evo bolt&gasket design to the intake & exhause manifolds. Maybe exhaust pipe from manifold to frame mounting would've been an issue? I don't know, but surely an evo type intake would be sweet on these shovels.
I had the entire PDF spec sheet for all the S&S motors...they have the dual plug set up for the pans too. I'm still waiting on Flathead Power to come out with their 96 cid Flatties...love the vid Bro. Do more!!!
ya sure !!! .0015 to .002 of cam endplay!!!!. thats a good one!! i hope u have a spare cam for that motor. the shim and washer are going to weld right to the cam ... :D
I have an Original 1967 HD Shovelhead FLH Complete bagger, I built 30 Years ago for a customer. It went through 5 Owners. The M/C came back to me and is undergoing a complete overhaul. I hope to post it on you tube, however as flhnmi has stated, the 76 video did take almost 3 times to complete the video than it took to build the motor. I hope to post the 76 Engine in the video either in a starting stand, or perhaps the entire build of the 76 FLH. Thanks to everyone for enjoying my videos.
You can E-Mail me or call if you like 516 396-0169 and we can discuss a trade or modification of your engine. You can see in the video, I machine the head with precision to accept another plug on the opposite side of the head for Dual Plugs, for optimum performance. It would be a pleasure to assist you.
Oleblueshovel76 here.... wonder why I wrote ? Same motor, same year & lots more tricks than I can list. Runs like a mild hemi...ha. Very happy & even at 11 K miles, it still keeps getting stronger. Nice video, wish S&S would send one like this along with their engine kits !
Thank you tgbluesky for pointing that out to some viewers. Yes these are S&S Teflon Buttons used on Big Bore Applications.
The base gaskets are on the base of the cylinders. This way the piston can be held with the fork, as the cylinder is lowered to prevent damage to the base gaskets.
I am pleased that many of you are enjoying these videos. There are more to come, including S&S 116" Sidewinder and 1967 93" Shovehead builds. Thank you for viewing my videos

WTF are the spark plugs on the wrong side? Wanna trade that engine for a stock 76 that I have?

Very cool, those videos must have taken as long to edit as they did to build the motor. Thanks for sharing with us.

Lol what type of piston pin lockring do you use????
Looks like styropor foam or something???????
ralfielutser 3 years ago
Teflon buttons are being used instead of snap rings or spirolocks.
