  • Fabulous !!

  • Fantastic! Thanks!

  • Thanks, Harry Vitaphone progressed in leaps and bounds after the Jazz Singer!

  • Terrific ! but I think it's later than 1927

  • @MartyCMarran You are right - this is Vitaphone 548, filmed in July 1928.

  • They were great!

  • Magnifique!

  • Any other Blossom Seeley footage out there? She was the best!

  • I only uploaded one title from a longer film. I'll see if I can upload some more from it - it's less jazzy though.

  • I just uploaded another Blossom Seeley clip. Hope you enjoy it.

  • how did you get talking footage from 1927?

  • Matching sound to film dates from the ealy 1920's. I have sound film from 1924 (Noble Sissle and Eubie Blake). This particular movie (and most others from that period that I have uploaded) was made with an accompanying 16" disc that was played simultaneously with the film on a special machine. "The Jazz Singer" was not the first sound film, it was the first full length sound-film. See some of my other uploads for sound films from 1926 (Ben Bernie) to 1929.

  • Yay, Bloosom Seeley!
