If you don’t have the reset disk / USB flash disk created beforehand there is no way to remove the password without using 3rd party software. There are many choices today that you can use.
I read some good reviews about the Password Resetter software which actually works it is very simple and can save you from a lot of trouble.
You can get the software from resetpasswordwindows
They claim that the software works on all platforms Windows 7 / Vista / XP and can recover any password instantly.
this will work only if you are logged with and admin user...make a tutorial with you changing a password from a low privileged user...without that trick with safe mod....
when i was trying to change the pass for admin it comes up the following error occured white attempting to set pass for use admin please gt back to me as fast as posible ive for got the pass for my admin acc n canot download or do anything plz
i tryed but it kept saying: "this computer has windows vista home premium the snapin may not be used" or something in that field so how else can i do it?
"this computer is running windows vista home premium. this snapin may not be used with this version of windows. to manage user accounts for this computer, use the user accounts tool in controll panel.
I have Home Basic and it wont work for me. It says that I should use the user accounts thing in the control panel and that doesn't work because I am a Guest!
man my laptop only has 1 user, and i have forgoton the password, how am i supposed to do wat ur doing when i cant even log on? safe mode doesnt work, administrator account doesnt come up, and it sitl asks for a password on safe mode. so theres no way i can get to a desktop.
Hmm.. For Vista: If you have a Windows Vista CD or DVD, boot into it. Select your language and keyboard type, and click next. Then, click repair in the bottom left, and let it find your installation. Then click on command prompt, at the bottom of that window. Type:
c:
net user Now you should see your user accounts.
net user "Your user account name"* Put your user account name in quotes, after net user
Make sure you have a * right after your user name. There is no space in between your user and the *
After that, it wants you to type a new password. Please keep in mind that when you type, it doesn't show up. It is still seeing that you're typing though. It asks you twice to type it in, so be accurate.
hey man ...i need help......i want to download stuff but everytime i do i ask me for my moms password it there a way i can make my account to a admin because i have a limmited one ...please help.....
If you can log into hers, or trick her into do that, then you can do what this video says, but with your user. You can also just change your account type from her user to. In control panel, go to users, click on you, and then change account. Select admin, apply. Good luck!
hey i tried to do this and its says i cant do it bacause my computer is windows vista home premium if so than which type of vista is urs because it looks the same as mine :s thanks
Yeah, you need Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate or Enterprise, and maybe Vista Business works too. They almost all work the same, but mine is designed for admin work and home too. Sorry.

Ok, to reply could you just message me? I was wondering about something. When I go to change the pass to the account, a pop up box says "the user account will immediately lose access to all of it encrypted files, stored passwords, and personal security certificates." What does it mean by encrypted files will be lost?? And what of the personal security certificates?? I am wondering because I want to change the pass, but do not want anything of value to be lost.. Please send me a message if u can.
