  • Pastor Leonard seemed upset, and intimidating the fact is he’s right. Normally we think of God merciful but if we could see God angry?

  • Preachers need to preach to the sinners not the righteous. Christ didn't come to save the righteous, but the sinner. Christians, when are you going to learn to grow in the spirit? Christians, when are you going to display Christ Kingdom on Earth? If you walk in flesh your a dead man walking.

  • Because of the Internet, more have heard Leonard Ravenhill in death than ever heard him during his life.

  • @Keruaran Did ravenhill have his own church at all???

  • @Soul7Patrol No I don't think so. There's a short article about him on Wikipedia.

  • @Soul7Patrol Yes, actually, he pastored in his early years in Britain and in his later years in Seguin, TX. You can find this in his biography from Free Grace Press.

  • @Michaelrwright92 Thank you for that...im sure the church he pastor would of turn the city inside out

  • Good stuff, but I think the Titanic soundtrack takes away from the message. For some reason people think we cant listen to sermons like this without some cheesy music.

  • I WENT TO NYC AND GAVE MY LIFE TO GOD AT DAVID WILKERSON CHURCH.. HE BROUGHT ME TO GOD!

  • Can anyone tell me the soundtrack playing the background? Is it from Hans Zimmer?

  • @Thespianity "To Know My Enemy" - The Last Samurai (Hans Zimmer)

  • thats amazing

  • Ravenhill preached with power!!!

  • Its such a disgusting web you Christians weave. Like a rape victim who calls. A beaten child who never runs. What this man is preaching is a disease of both the mind and soul. You'd have to put effort into being as sick and broken as this. You are more than scum. Don't believe this dribble.

  • @elkheart7 I'm not really understanding what your problem is with Ravenhill's message reading from your reply. Could you elaborate your message in some way? Thank you, and have a good day.

  • @elkheart7 not so. This man is telling the truth, but you don't understand because your heart is dark without knowledge of the creator the very ONE who sustain you with HIS very breath. Do a search on your own for hell is seeking to swallow you up. Hope you escape ignorance of the One that loves you enough to hung on the cross for you so you would not end up in hell. bro better check ...it is real

  • Good stuff. I wish I could have met him.

  • Videos like this make me pause and overlook my life. Makes me stop, fall to my knees and lower my head in prayer. My God, my God...

  • @HumbleBeliever1208 Videos like this make me realise, that even shit can be wrapped in nice looking paper !!

  • @tallliza Please do not use such filthy language.

  • @TheCrushmaster Do you even know what" filthy language" is kid ?

  • AMEN ! What a Guy Ravenhill was, What a GOD we have to Worship and give thanks

  • wow

  • What sacrifice can a non-successful person give? Why is it sacrifice versus success?

  • @christ1nme Matthew 16:24-26 says "24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?" We are to die to the world and live for Christ. This means we are to seek him and not wealth.

  • @BRabbit4989 So, an impoverished church is better than a prosperous church? The blessing of the Lord results in His followers being poor, financially speaking? There are no rich church members, nor are there supposed to be? What about sharing with others? How does one not burden others financially, and even share with others if one is poor? Millions are in need of basic food, water, clothing. How does a poor church do good to them without financial resources? Have you fed 5,000 today?

  • @christ1nme

Mr.Ravenhill's point is that we should not seek success in a worldly sense. He talks about churches spending money on things like swimming pools and tennis courts, which you can agree is a waste of money when there are people who need that money put into other things. The idea as well that God wants you to have a great life now is a lie, we are to live for eternity. He never says poor churches are better than prosperous churches.

  • @phi223 Can't money be redeemed for good, and those things bought with that money? A swimming pool and a tennis court might be part of a church's outreach program. Church buildings are no less of an expense than a swimming pool, costing multi-millions dollars in some cases. One could argue against having buildings and only meeting under tents or in public places to save money. Yes, eternity is the focus, but redeeming of earthly things for the Lord's use, is part of why even the pots are holy.

  • @christ1nme

Church is for believers, Christ did not leave the church to attract people to the gospel, we should be leaving our churches and ministering to the people. Not that I disagree in total, but I think that building a swimming pool or tennis courts for "outreach" is trying to change the church into an entertainment area instead of a place for Christians to worship God. I mean, if your bringing people to you, its not even outreach, notice the "OUT" portion of outreach.

  • @BRabbit4989 How silly, how infantile. Even Billy Graham in his old days, after having preached his whole life that... Jesus was the only way..... preached the opposite.

  • this never gets old

  • "I'd take a Leonard Ravenhill over twenty dead Calvinists" - Paul Washer (A Calvinist) and it's true, we need more Ravenhill's in this country.

  • amen

  • Which sermon is this from?

  • I love this! There are so few preachers who are able to preach the truth unapologetically! Not with fear of man, but with fear of God! Too often the gospel that is preached in America today is all about you! Your success! Your prosperity! The bible does not say the gospel is about "our best life now" or about wealth or health or always feeling good about ourselves or having all our problems taken away! It is all about GOD! If we accept Christ we abandon ourselves and our lives for Christ's sake.

  • Name of the song?

  • Thank God for hard, powerful, real preaching like Ravenhill's. This is very inspiring.

  • This is a hard message. But its the real deal.

  • Blood sacrifices are disgusting, ancient superstitious nonsense. It's a myth that this ever occurred. The morality in the bible is enough to make a good man puke. Dump religion.

  • @FaganRoberts

A myth that blood sacrifices ever occurred?

    Oh, no-

that os one of the least offensive of the ancient Judaic practices.

Dump religion, yes, but don't deny history.

  • @Imaginefree69 LOL - You think a Jesus figure really died for your "sins?" Yes, I deny that this blood sacrifice ever occurred. Do you have any proof outside the 4 gospels that it indeed really ever happened? Jesus isn't history, it's a religion based on a mythological blood cult.

  • @FaganRoberts

Work a bit on your reading comprehension.

I never claimed that the Jesus sacrifice ever happened.

I merely corrected your silly claim that blood sacrifice never occurred.

Of course blood sacrifice has occurred throughout history, and still happens today.

Visit Haiti, if you doubt that.

And Christians still celebrate a ritualized form of cannibalism.

  • @Imaginefree69 I never stated blood sacrifices never occurred. I've been talking about blood sacrifices occurring in the last 2 previous posts. Hell, I even refered to them being disgusting and superstitious based nonsense in origin. A reality, if one is to make reference to them! But you should watch and comprehend the topic of the posted video. That is, a Jesus based blood sacrifice. Which in my opinion never occurred. Your knee jerk reaction is what makes many atheists like you appear silly.

  • @FaganRoberts Poor Fagan. You are now claiming that "I never stated blood sacrifices never occurred." yet anyone capable of reading can see that you said "Blood sacrifices are disgusting, ancient superstitious nonsense. It's a myth that this ever occurred." It is YOUR responsibility to communicate clearly. When you fail to do so, a graceful apology and correction are much more ethical and mature and useful than hostility and accusations. Take a bit of responsibility for your actions. "
  • @Imaginefree69 I doubt your delicate sensibilities were that offended. You just made a quick, youthfull knee jerk reaction and you were then promptly corrected on the matter. No harm no foul. No need to split hairs. I've better fish to fry. Cheers!

  • Knowing his word is of the utmost importance. Living his word is our calling. Great sermon!

  • I can do nothing but weep.

How many nights did he pray weeping, asking if it was all futile? Does anybody listen? Anybody hear? But God sees what we do not see, He knows what we do not know, and he plans what we cannot imagine! Today the voice of this faithful servant is louder in death than it was in life. Mr Ravenhill would never have dreamed his voice, and the Spirit of God in his voice would be heard so far and wide across this thing called the internet in 2010!

    Soften my heart oh God.

  • I feel so moved by the grace God has given me for eternity. If you were in my shoes prior to my conversion, and in my shoes after Christ transformed me. You would see a new creature. The power of sin, and the darkness in my life is gone and temptation is still lurking in me but everytime i look up to Christ I am overwhelmed with grace. The Gospel is truly the POWER OF GOD. Right now i am angry at my previous church. Filled with unholiness and I won't take that back.

  • @XBLiNKkkkk "The Gospel is truly the POWER OF GOD. " The Christian gospel: "Dear Child, You are my offspring. Nothing will ever separate you from my love. I will always comfort you. Unless you don't believe me, or you're gay, or you've noticed the process of evolution, in which case I will torture you for ever and ever in the torture chamber I made. You know I'll do it, too. I already tortured and mutilated and killed and abandoned my only REAL son. Trust me. Your loving Father, God."
  • @Imaginefree69, it is profound ignorance that inspires the dogmatic tone! You clearly don't understand Christian theology. A good start would be to read the Bible rather than make up nonsense yourself. You are perverting the Word of God. If by "torture" you are referring to Hell then you had better get used to it sinner. Why not ask somebody if they could kindly explain to you the reason why God created Hell? Satan rebelled. Adam and Eve were created to live for ever but they sinned.

  • @Islandretreat

    Dogmatic?

Asking you to be specific and substantial is dogmatic?

    Hardly.

I am well aware of the official excuses,

having been a pastor and Bible teacher for over 40 years.

You have yet yo identify and correct a single error.

We know you would, if only you could.

  • @Imaginefree69 , Let's start at the beginning sinner. Now looking back at the comment you typed further down the page which contained 15 errors (in one comment) all of which were false charges against God's Church. For example, you accuse Christianty of the "Dark Ages". I repeat myself, you need to learn the differencfe between Popery and Bible-based Christianity. Now perhaps you'll begin by explaining why that offends you?

  • @Islandretreat, then perhaps you'll care to explain how Bible-based Christianity created the the Popes murderous Dark Ages given the fact the Roman Papacy used to drag Christians to the stake and burn them alive with the Bible around their neck? There are a further Fourteen mistakes that I'll be happy to set you straight on but let's see you explain your way out of this one first, sinner.

  • @Islandretreat, bear in mind it was Bible-based Christianity that dragged us out of the Dark Ages with the Protestant Reformation. Now on you go, the stage is yours.

  • @Islandretreat Yeah and lead us right into the Inquisition. It's only the secular Enlightenment that ever came close to recognizing basic human/civil rights.

  • @FaganRoberts, you too need to learn the difference between Popery and Bible-based Chrisianity. The diabolical Inquisition persecuted and tortured to death countless Bible-believing Christians - and so to blame the Inquisition on Bible-believing Christianity is preposterous. Roman Catholicism/Secularism is a cancer on society. The Sabbath and Marriage are the 2 foundation-stones of society. See how the devil in the Vatican has turned Britain and US into a "broken society"? A Secular society.

  • @Islandretreat "Do not suffer a witch to live" Simple historical research tells us that the Inquisition was also carried out under Martin Luther and the Protestants well into the 17th century. Freedom never lasts long in a priest/preacher ridden society. If you appreciate your liberty, look not unto the bible, read secular humanist Enlightenment philosophy. The precepts of our Founding Fathers, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Dump ALL superstitious corrupt religion.

  • @FaganRoberts

"Freedom never lasts long in a priest/preacher ridden society."

    Well said.

"In every country and every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own."

    - Thomas Jefferson "All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."

    - Thomas Paine

  • @Imaginefree69 Thank you. And thank you for the enlightening quotes.

  • @Islandretreat

"the difference between Popery and Bible-based Chrisianity."

    "Bible-based Christianity"?

Where have you found sinless Christians who manifest perfect unity, who exude love for all, who manifest the fruit of the Spirit, who refrain from gossip and cursing and judging others, who obey the teachings of Jesus to visit those in prison, feed he poor, and turn the other cheek?

I was a pastor and missionary for over 40 years, and I never met these "Bible-based Christians."

    Tell us where!

  • @Islandretreat

You seem to think you are proving something by calling me "sinner",

yet are you not a sinner yourself, according to your religion?

On the other hand, the Bible says that those who are born of god can not sin.

How's that working out for you?

  • @Islandretreat

"Sin and evil means the same thing"

You don't have the authority to change the definitions to suit your denominational opinions.

In Old Hebrew 'RA' is translated "EVIL, meaning both gross immorality and calamity.

YHVH boasts that he alone creates and causes evil.

"SIN", 'CHATA', means to miss the mark.

    Learn before attempting to instruct.

  • @Imaginefree69 Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.--Correct. Sin and evil don't mean the same thing. Pass it on.

  • @filoIII

Evil and evil mean the same thing.

Sin means violating the commands of YHVH, which he himself does many, many times in the Bible. So your Imaginary Friend is BOTH a sinner AND the sole source of evil.

    According to your Bible.

  • @filoIII _ Shalom! Let me congratulate you! You are right; Sin and Evil is not the same. In our Hebrew Language the Evil word means: To broke, to destroy, affliction, adversity, sadness, calamity.

  • @12345699432

"Sin and Evil is not the same. In our Hebrew Language the Evil word means: To broke, to destroy, affliction, adversity,s adness, calamity."

We are not discussing YOUR Hebrew language, but the Old Hebrew in which most of the OT was written. And in THAT language the word 'RA' is translated to the English "EVIL", meaning both gross immorality and calamity.

This word, RA, is used of devouring animals, of calamity, and of morally depraved humans.

    Stop lying.

  • @filoIII, in the sense that both are wicked and immoral, they both mean the same thing.

  • @Islandretreat

Nice twisting and dodging, but the facts remain unchanged and unchallenged.

Xianity began to destroy science and knowledge the moment it became the state religion under Constantine.

This was BEFORE the "popery" you love to point fingers at.

And the RCC was basically the ONLY church there was in those days.

The RCC is the MOTHER of the Protestant church,

and the apple has not fallen far from the tree.

Same old lies and hypocrisy and condemnation and ignorance.

  • @Imaginefree69, The RCC claims to be the "mother" of the Protestant Churches but if you believe that you'll believe anything. Protestantism is revived Christianity. The teachings of Christ are the seed of Protestantism. In Protestant Britain, the real "mother Church" was the Celtic Church. I'm wondering if you'll ever type anything of truth or if you are just full of lies? And yes we're all born sinners. Since Adam it's *impossible* for man to live without sinning.

  • @Islandretreat

"he RCC claims to be the "mother" of the Protestant Churches"

History shows this, without the RCC needing to say a word.

Next you'll be telling us that Martin Luther was never a Catholic.

Why are you interested enough to twist history about the beginnings of your denomination?

"Since Adam it's *impossible* for man to live without sinning."

According to your Bible, those who are born of god can not sin.

How's that working out for you?

  • @Imaginefree69 "And the RCC was basically the ONLY church there was in those days"

Basically? Your knowledge of history is somewhat lacking. The British/Celtic Churches were centuries older than the 4th century Papal church. The Culdees (meaning in Gaelic servants of God) of Scotland and Ireland preached pure Scriptural Christianity--the same theology as the 16th century Reformers. After the fall of Pagan Rome the Culdees evangelised western and central Europe from Iceland to Italy.

  • The Culdee Church in Ireland was eventually usurped by Rome in 1155AD and remnants of the Culdee Church in Scotland lasted right down to the Reformation until King James authorised the greatest selling Book of all time - the AV1611 KJV Holy Bible, the inerrant, infallible Word of God (for English speaking peoples).

  • @Islandretreat

"the inerrant, infallible Word of God"

There are far too many fairy tales (unicorns, talking animals,), errors (flat earth, geocentric solar orbit), contradictions (who was the father of Joseph, Mary's husband? Has any man seen god?), and lies (the Massacre of the Innocents) to support this laughable doctrine.

Ah, my flailing little Calvinist, if only religious clichés were facts.

What a formidable argument you would make!

  • @Islandretreat

"The British/Celtic Churches were centuries older than the 4th century Papal church"

Nice try, but it's dishonest to try to move he goal posts.

The discussion was referring to European Xianity, not to a couple of little islands.

You really responded to a month-dead discussion to deliver THIS?

    You need a hobby.

    How about reading?

You could study up on history!

  • @Islandretreat

    @Imaginefree69

If you think I have posted erroneous statements,

I challenge to you provide a mature and rational response.

Please identify and correct any errors, using scripture and/or evidence.

Mere denial and hostility are just knee-jerks which identify the insistently deluded.

  • @theawakener7 Kid you make no sense. He just getting the point across that when we see into eternity we would have wished we had witnessed to that person we ignored. Basically saying we should live in the light of eternity. Read your Bible please.

  • Amen this is absolutely true and right

  • @jvdburg1 Nope. He's a delusional madman that speaks much about nothings. The world is full of nuts like this. Dump religion.

  • Amazing!!

  • i love his bluntness...he speaks with depth and weight...is it because he's spent 85 years on this wicked planet? Preach it my brother........

  • Preachers like this man Leonard Ravinhill are diminishing at an accelerated rate another sign of the last days coming.

  • what sermon was this taken from? this is good

  • Wow, this massage is so true

  • I wish this could be played in every church in america

  • @allchevy78 amen

  • @allchevy78 Every Sunday..

  • Please someone help me: im 14 but i've gave to Jesus my life once, didn't work out for ages and then i got drunk too mayn times and now i have a scare. Then i found Jesus again and then even stronger, but now im loosing hima gain but i dont want to loose him but then i want the life thats comming. Please help me :(

  • @knockout9999 What you need, knockout, is THIS life. It's the only one you get, and throwing it away in hopes of some fairy tale "future life" is truly self-defeating. Don't abstain from substance abuse to please an Imaginary Scorekeeper; do it because you will be more healthy and happy NOW. Think about what you want out of life and decide what you need to do to get that. Get the best education you can, and let evidence and reason lead you to reality and truth. Be free!
  • @knockout9999

This world is going to give you the wrong stuff, its going to guide you to false hopes and false desires. Embrace Christ, ask for forgiveness of your sins. Pray, pray, pray...it is IMPERATIVE to PRAY. Devour the Bible, devour God's word, pray that you would draw near to God's heart. Be in absolute wonder and thankfulness of what Jesus did on the cross. Pray that you would have a heart fashioned after God's heart. A true heart that repents is never forsaken.

    Toil for His love.

  • It amazes me that people still squable and argue with all the comments below after a video like this....

  • wow listening to this gives me the chills. The word og God is so powerful. We all need to give more to God.

  • If only more pastors preached this way!!! These are the very words of God!! My goodness, if only if only - revival would quicken!!

  • Wow.....what a preacher! God truly blessed this man. Just like the Jewish prophets who delivered difficult messages to the people but they killed him because they didn't like what he said. That's also why Jesus ended up on the cross.

  • Have you known what Christ did for you? I am not talking about what he did on the cross-though this is central. I am talking about what he did for you-when you look in the mirror and see the sinner he died for? Do you see the vile wretch that you are? Do you hear the love of Jesus through it all? Are you ready to stand in line to wash Jesus' feet for the grace he showed you yet?

  • @HermitintheRain Brought tears to my eyes, what u said and this video.... Thumbs up :) Bless you!!

  • These are some of the most profound words that I've ever heard, a man full of the Holy Ghost and on fire, Lord give us more men like this.

  • Once I preached in the Church where Ravenhill's sister was attending. There was a chuckle when I quoted the great man! What a privilege to be there. What a privilege to hear the man whose books I have devoured as a young Christian. More passion Lord, more passion! Barry in Weson-super-Mare

  • What is the music used in the background, powerful.

  • The world needs more men like Leonard Ravenhill, may the Lord raise more men like him.

  • God, give us more men like this, not afraid to preach the Gospel, I ask this in the name of Christ Jesus.

  • @Chuckles20000 I agree with that prayer in Jesus Name let

it be so Lord call them in raise them up Amen!

  • I love THIS!!!!!

  • Whoa, I've never heard such preaching before. It's really, moving. I mean, this is really incredible! I see all these church's around preaching prosperity and not needing to feel bad about our sin, and then I hear this guy. This is good.

  • one of the few preachers actually worth listening to!

  • one of a minority of preachers worth listening to!

'' one way to heaven and a million ways to hell'' how true.

may God have mercy on us and send a revival ! how we need it....

  • He truely was man of God. He wasn't afraid to speak out against the world. My favorite leo quote is "Are the things you are living for worth Christ dying for? And The Church used to be a lifeboat rescuing the perishing. Now she is a cruise ship recruiting the promising. If Jesus had preached the same message that ministers preach today, He would never have been crucified."

    God bless

  • The most breathtaking incredible message I've ever heard.

    Len was a great preacher.

He puts to shame all these modern preachers.

  • @WolfLikeLamb Amen to that!

  • Imagine, if you are sincere about wanting know God put your questions to me by you tube email and I will answer them for you.

  • Wow imagine, why are you full of bitterness?

  • You interpret speaking the truth as bitterness?

    Why do you do that?

I only say what the Bible says.

  • According to the Bible, the "god of love" engages in and demands

murder, abandoning mothers wives and children,

    baby-killing, human sacrifice, ritualized cannibalism,

lies and deception, genocide, torture, war, threats, and hypocrisy.

So naturally those who fear him

MUST find justification for the evil he creates.

  • If I only would know where you find those things and what you mean by them I would be able to respond, else it is very difficult. However there are things hard to understand, it is clear that God always has done all for man and that man always has turned from Him and His simple ways. God's hand has always been reaching out at the same time as his arm has been stretched out. God is righteous and can therefore not tolerate sin, however He has always made a way of escape. Man is evil, God is good.

  • Martin, I'd have to quote the entire book

to give you references for all the atrocities of god.

    Tell you what-

you pick a couple of items that you think I am mistaken about

and I'll provide the scriptures to support my assertions.

Meanwhile, show me where god "always has done all for man."

Like the failed Law that merely resulted in more sin?

Like telling Abraham to abandon his firstborn son

and his mother so as to create a permanent enemy for Israel?

    That kind of thing?

  • @Imaginefree69 pretty sure you made most of those up. lol and the only reason God ordered the death of people was becsuse He couln't have bad influences exposing things to a young world and a young group of people. and plus He wanted to get rid of anything that tore down teh perfect family, of lifestyle that He was instilling in those people.

  • Joshua 6?

  • Joshua 6

  • @Imaginefree69 Are you implying that you are more righteous than Jesus Christ?

  • @Imaginefree69 What have churches done to you, that you now seek revenge by trolling Christian video sites, using your immense biblical knowledge to screw up Christians without your experience. Why in God’s name would you do such a thing?

  • @nld1960 Your uninformed assumptions and accusations are, naturally, incorrect. 1- I do nothing at all "in god's name." I do not serve fictional characters of ancient myth. 2- There is no element of revenge in my labours to shine the light of Reason and Truth on the Exit for those in bondage to sadistic religion. I am attempting to make amends for 40-plus years of teaching and promoting Christianity. It's a moral obligation, as I see it.
  • @Imaginefree69 You use your intelligence in the wrong way, my friend. What you say makes no sense. Let people be. Christians are doing great things in the world. More Christians are martyred now than all the ones throughout history. They are slaughtered by the thousands weekly for their faith.

Why don't you leave them alone. Please

  • @nld1960 "Let people be." This is a hypocritical statement for any Christian to make. Evangelism is a basic rule of Xianity; trying to make others embrace your religion. Until YOU leave OTHERS alone you have no right to demand the same from others. "you say that we should not have the right to be Christians." Why do you lie about me? Why do you make false accusations? Either show where I have denied anyone the right to be a Xian or withdraw your false accusation and give me an apology.
  • @Imaginefree69 Go away!! I am not reading your stuff anymore. I did not read you last post.
