These trucks straight piped are insanely loud. my buddy has a 2500 w/ straights. only truck that it is not louder than is my room mates ram 1500 5.7 hemi with straights and 6" tips. but very very close

@smc13s Yea I have cats, I actually just put on 4" tips instead of 3 1/2. Its louder and a lot deeper. The only reason it was crackling was because of the sea foam. and yea the sea foam gave me a few mpg maybe 2 or so. but i could only notice it for a month or so

@HD13POWER hahaha. stock headers and cats. if you want it loud, go long tubes with 3 inch true duals, high flow cats/no cats. dynatech makes makes some sick headers that come with hi flow cats

@MegaCumminsboy it made it completely level. no blocks. only thing that sucks is if you tow a lot of weight it sags in the back :( it does that a lot more easily with my 1500 so i put some assist springs on

I don't know if you have the plans or not, but don't take off the cats. It'll be too raspy/crackly. Sounds perfect right now and I'm sure plenty loud (for the time being).

@RidgeRunner88 yeah i was thought about it but there was no purpose. i talked to the guys at the shop and they said right now i could run 700hp with no problem lol. so there really was not any reason to take of the cats or get high flow cats. in 2005 chevy started putting two sets of cats on each pipe in the 2500hd. it actually keeps the tone quite well and there is no need for mufflers because there is already backpressure. i would only take of the cats if it wasnt true dualed. thanks though!

@smc13s GM has ran dual cats on every truck, since 1999. Never had more than 2, had only one big one in 1998- models.

@DarrenWS6 yeah i thought i would show you since ur truck is what originally got me started. i know what you are saying. the flowmasters had a REAL nice tone, but created too much drone and just werent mean enough for me. now i can really turn some heads. but until you get above 3000rpms it sounds like it has mufflers.
