In simple language, somebody goes to a site and puts up a video where they are broadcasting live.

I just use the built in mic on my imac/macbook. I heard the snowball mic is very good though. You just have to make sure that you're not too close to the mic and that your finger isn't covering it by mistake

YouTube only supports up to 1028 by 710 so I would reccomend exporting to that.

If you are doing a screencast and your monitor is lower resolution that that you can still export it to that resoloution (or use a video convertor if you don't edit), otherwise you won't get the HD button on your player.

i export in 1920 by 1080 and it works fine.

YouTube compresses that down to 1028 by 720 so I find having a higher resolution video than that makes a larger file and upload time longer.

I mean I suppose it means you can store your videos in full HD on your Hard Drive which is nice but those upload times can be tedious.

Yes 1920 by 1080 would play in amazing quality on your computer (or any any monitor). Hopefully YouTube will support full HD 1080p (1920 by 1080) soon and online video will look just as good.
