  • you move your hand waaay too much but still nice

  • GREAT HELI AND LANDING!!! but she needs a tri-pod sooooo bad for that vid camera. that would be so neat to just fly around your area and check out everything from the sky, LOVE IT!!!

  • Great hover grandpa ,thanks for the view

  • Next time, please wipe the Vaseline off the camera lens, please.

  • cool grandpa!

  • My grandma can do it beter

  • Buy a TRIPOD (they are cheap) to the kids and TEACH THEM them to use it,

use the experience in a way they can LEARN something too.

by the way ... Very Steady control of that mosquito..!

GREAT ! and yes Grandpa Rocks !

  • Your Grandpa Rocks !

  • Amazing how stable this thing is!

  • Very good flying. Its amazing how your at the age of 67 your enjoying your life. Most people that age, and younger think they are too old to do things. Did you build that helicopter yourself ?? Whats the price tag on this machine ??

  • I want to get one of those!!!

  • Anyway to make one of these quieter. I am talking james bond quiet.

  • @freespeachrulez Sure, a Bose noise-cancelling headset works great.

  • john did what nobody else could do,build a really good heli.

  • where are you located you have it on google earth your location? id like to see

  • If you were not standing on a basketball, would be a great video! :)

  • i believe i can fly

  • hold your camera steady man, this video made me headache

  • Grampa sure can fly. How old is he ?

  • @mustaffahh 67 going on 15!

  • @jerrywsoloflex Hell yeah!! That is awesome go Gramps go!!! :)

  • very cool. nice camera work????

  • how would u compare this to a R22?

  • @BulldzrWV The biggest difference is that the Mosquito is experimental, amateur built, much more precarious to fly. Some would say insane to fly. Nevertheless, the Mosquito is a very good design considering the constraints of being limited to 254 lbs empty (to fit the ultralight category). It handles beautifully, performance is outstanding.

  • very cooll

  • Helicopters are very hard to fly, I do prefer the Cessna 172, nad Remos G3-600.

  • I took lessons, flew professionally for 12 years, Airline Transport Rated, 10,000 hours in fixed wing, about 400 in helicopters.

  • @jerrywsoloflex Yea, that explains a lot. It certainly doesn't look like your first day at camp. B-)

So have you ordered a new one yet?

  • @jlillie2 Not yet. The factory is testing a new four-stroke engine. Might want one of those.

  • @jerrywsoloflex Yea, good call Jerry, I never liked the idea of mixed fuel at altitude. I seized a weed wacker by using the wrong fuel can once. (My chainsaw uses a thinner mix) Wouldn't be fun to make that mistake on something in the sky...I suppose i could use a sharpie to mark the can though....I'm trying to talk my wife into one of these, we'll see, not going well so far. B-)

  • @jlillie2 Air-cooled 2-stroke engines are notoriously unreliable but the MZ202 appears to be the exception that proves the rule. Mine never sputtered once. Well, after the fuel pump was upgraded anyway. Lots of options for the wife problem. I'm not about to suggest them...ha

  • @jerrywsoloflex Jerry,

The wife has actually been pretty good, (I have a lot of projects) I almost had an old Hiller a while back, and she was going to let me go for it. (Under $18,000) I ended up backing out due to the corrosion in the tail rotor support.

Where there is a little, there is probably a lot. And I hear break up in flight isn't all its cracked up to be.

    Jim

  • @jerrywsoloflex I am a rated sim instructor and an avid RC Heli flyer, I want one.

  • Are you a self taught pilot or X-pilot? Years ago I purchased a plan set for a mini copter from Canada. I always wanted to build one. I did tons of reading and research.

I ended up buying, rebuilding and flying a Quicksilver MX. No instructions.

I know how the wright brothers felt. I flew for about 3 years before my devorse! "LOL"

I do aluminum tig welding and mechanic work. I know I can build the frame but would need to purchase the rotor head/tail/blades.

    Good job!

  • What kit is this or is it by plans built?

The engine sounds like a Cuyuna 430.

If you listen real good you can hear one carb out of sync.

  • @cmartman48 The engine is an MZ202 from Compact Radial Engines in Canada. The Mosquito is sold as a builder assembled kit but offers the option of having the factory assemble it before delivery. You have a good ear for engine sounds!

  • hehehe,, the camera man was hiding behind the bushes.. LOL... really nice though,,, Im about to build one....just sucks im in NYC,,,

  • Cool brave grandpa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • even the cameraman is scared ;-)

  • Those things are crazy!!! Very cool. Takes a lot of guts to fly one of those. You couldn't pay me enough!!

  • @OI8APC2 You couldn't pay me enough to quit flying it. On second thought, how much are you offering? ha

  • he was definatly a piolet before very smooth hover.

  • @sjtf2 Good observation. This guy knows what he is doing.

  • he is the coolest grampa EVER !!!!!!!!

  • I couldn't watch much of it, camera jerking to much. Might consider a tripod. Anyway, Granpa can fly!

  • Good job Ezra and Elizabeth! I love the part where you say "We have lift off!". Very cool.
