Since the "late night news" is on at 4 A.M., technically wouldn't this mean that Earl anchored or co-anchored virtually every SCTV newscast from sign-on to sign-off? Also, wasn't Floyd news director as well as anchor, given his "I carry you" comment?
I think Earl must of gotten a pay cut. In the Godfather episode, Johnny finds Earl's contract that says he makes $180 a week. I would of loved to see Earl and Floyd doing the news live at the SCTV reunion.
Earl is such a poor bastard...figuratively, and literally, by the sound of his pay!

This is one news sketch I recall vividly. Especially Floyd's item about Porky and Petunia Pig dying of swine flu and the death of Dr. Fitzbinder.
