No ! this film is produced by Gorillaz (or a subsidiary of)it has nothing to do with the show in Paris. I don't know about the marketing plan, sorry. When I know, I'll shoot you an e-mail.

@leflyscot nope, it is actually a opera, they only perfomed it live, though there exists recordings of the music. As far as I know they never released a Dvd of the opera.

I was involved in the production with the Theatre du Chatelet. The film is being edited now, first cut is expected end of September

Is this the Damon Albarn opera ? in Paris... didnt know about that...

Yes it is. After Manchester International Festival, and Paris, the show was at the Spoleto Festival in the US in June and they just finished a series of performance at London's Royal Opera House. Music CD (recorded in London earlier this year) to be released soon. They are currently shooting the movie "Monkey Bee" in London
