but i was wondering.

let's say i want to play a harmonic on the 7th fret, but i've got the harmonic capo set to the 12th, would the 7th fret harmonic still work?

You still get a harmonic at the 7th fret, but it's an octave higher than normal. It's the same harmonic you get at the 3rd fret without the capo.
