TBH, though, isn't the lack of hi-tech equipment and the hand-me-downs that the Marines get what makes them so "Elite?" The Army has the best of the best, the Marines really don't get that luxury. Its sad to see that people actually make a huge deal out of this. If its not the case then the Army must have failed teaching you the 7 Army values.

@ARMA365 the marines have a much higher percent of combat arms personel than the army does.the army only has about 50,000 infantry and is much larger than the usmc..not to mention the higher standards of the marines, and btw the marines carried out the largest battle of the iraq war almost by themselves, fallujah. not to mention helmand province afghanistan

NZ Army has a much lighter and slower movement technique concerning infantry,securing cover and scanning the firing zone before moving to the next cover.In Open ground the prone position is usually adopted and you only stand upright when falling back or repositioning to cover.

first off 11 x is not special forces contract its an infantryman who the army gets to chose if he is 11b or 11c depending on wut the army needs second that is strait infantry not sf or rangers airassault and mechinized and strait legged ingantry

11x is infantry recruit, i still have my paperwork that says it, when you get into training you pick 11B (light infantry) or 11C (indirect fire infantry), not being a dick, just sharing my knowledge
11b isnt just light inf. its also mechinized inf. 11c is mortar. the only time ya contract will say 11x is if yur goin to sf witch states the option 40 in ya contract. and if ya contract say 11x and yu didnt get the selection check with ya rectuiter cuz yu might have got jerked outta sf skool

wow.. this is a true meaning there's army and there's Army Infantry. People sure get those mixed up often. However our intelligence training is superior to 90%; and were all fighting for the same cause.

its the infantry enlistment option, during AIT they make you ethier 11B(light Infantry) or 11C(Mortar Infantry).

no its not. im an 11b (regular infantryman)
then their is 11c(mortarman)
11x is the special forces mos contract yu get prior tu enlistment with the option 40 for airborne and ranger school 18x is just the selection process

11x is infantry recruit, i still have my paperwork that says it, when you get into training you pick 11B (light infantry) or 11C (indirect fire infantry), not being a dick, just sharing my knowledge

11b isnt just light inf. its also mechinized inf. 11c is mortar. the only time ya contract will say 11x is if yur goin to sf witch states the option 40 in ya contract. and if ya contract say 11x and yu didnt get the selection check with ya rectuiter cuz yu might have got jerked outta sf skool

Good luck to everybody who's signing up now. I just got out of BCT a couple weeks ago and doing my 68W training at Fort Sam Houston. No matter where you go you're gonna sweat and its gonna be hard, but so long as you persevere and give respect where its deserved you will make it.

Im going into 9th grade, im born and raised in the usa and once i graduate Highschool im join the US Army Infantry and maybe even make it to being an Special Forces Weopon Specialist sergeant!, maybe! Go Army, Go Millitary God Bless America!

my boyfriend is 11 bravo. one tour in iraq already and one coming up in afghanistan.
there doesnt seem to be a lot of support out there for infantry or even the military in general so i was glad to see the positive comments on this post.
