  • Can't ever hear this song without thinking of those excellent two robots, who just happened to save Terran, or at least human, civilization for at least a little while longer.

  • hehe barnaby |:)

  • Camera fail.

  • This type of music put with this atmosphere makes me think of Fallout every time I watch this. >.<

  • Is it weird that I was sexually attracted to EVE?

  • @sivazh I'm the same but not sexually, I just like this character so much

  • Reminds me of Spore!

  • Lol, it's funny because it's about how happy the world is, but then it sucks..

  • I can kinda see what the director was going with this opening scene, by first having the music first to a place which corresponds with the lyrics, but then, takes us somewhere opposite of the spirt of the whole song, as sort of a melancholy, look, into what might just become. A international monopoly where all the world is run by one corporation, where trash is everywhere, and where earth is no longer safe. Its really an eye opener, but a bit too political for a kids film thou.

  • @TheProudAmerican777 that's not political at all. xD It's just setting the scene.

  • @Thomasbki yeah, but ya know, it just seems that way a little, but that's just me. :/

  • @TheProudAmerican777 what i like about pixar is they make movies that both entertaining for kids and adults, i mean the setting isn't really that complicated, but they include stuff that the kids can always enjoy, like the humor and bright lights and stuff. :D

  • what exactly does this film with the hello dolly sontrack?

  • wall-e love the movie

  • This song was one of the best surprises of this movie! I totally didn't expect such cheerful music!

  • best dong ever

  • @rosslordcool lol

  • ugh. i love that song haha

  • polluted!

  • Wall-E is one of the few movies that actually made me get tears..

    What a beautiful track.. :(

  • @wakyuz Me too. And I didn't feel bad because there was nothing schmaltzy in this movie.

Wall-E was probably one of the best movies in the past 10 years.

  • @mohinderbauer so true..

  • owow

  • Woot! ^_^ I didn't even realize this was the beginning song to Wall-E XD Hello Dolly is going to be our spring musical, and I'm playing Mrs. Molloy. ^_^

  • SING IT, MICHAEL CRAWFORD!

  • MY NAME IS BARNABY!!! ;D

  • I think the maker of this movie played to much fall-out 3.

    Its almost the same opening!

  • @lavamatstudios I think it's the other way around, since this movie came out before Fallout 3. :P

  • @rainbowkirby Fallout 1 & 2 came out before Wall-E :P

  • @rainbowkirby allthough that is true. I do think the makers of this film had some inspiration from the fallout series. But it doesn't even matter cause they are both awesome.

  • @guliosh in the director's commentary he said the song's lyrics actually really connected to the story of the film and he wanted there to be a film that WALL-E watched to learn what romance was like and stuff, so this was the perfect song to use, nothing to do with Fallout I'm afraid. :3 mainly because fallout's in the past and this is in the future.

  • @Thomasbki I was not talking about the song, although thank you for the information!, 1 more thing though, the fallout series do actually take place in the future, but the games represent the future as it could be if some things would have gone differently in the real world.

  • @lavamatstudios This movie was released before Fallout 3 ;)

  • @lavamatstudios both post-apocalyptic with an eerily out-of-place soundtrack made in the 40s and 50s haha you're right

  • Something tells me cornelious wasn't thinking that far out of yonkers

I  this song and movie

  • thansk

  • right on spot with this intro+soundtrack

  • @ kitmcc i guess i know this feeling.. you see or hear something similar but cannot share because it's part of your own history.. :) so sad and happy at once.. Love this feeling :) and you think u might burst of happiness....

  • My grandma used to put on "Hello Dolly" whenever she came to visit when I was little. I got so excited to hear this song when I saw this movie in theaters. And then my boyfriend called me a nerd because of the goofy fucking grin on my face.

  • I like how they opened with this song. At first it seems to be ironic since Earth is a desolate garbage dump. Yet, that cheerful up-beat song is how WALL-E views the world. To him life is an exciting adventure.

  • I love this movie desperately. saw it when I was 17, and I don't care.

  • lol. I love the irony Pixar uses here. You have one of the most cheerful songs ever written, cutting to the depressing, post-apocalyptic, wasteland of Earth. Actually, this song makes the opening sequence very eerie in my opinion. It gives you a feeling of uncertainty...In short, I love this movie way too much lol.

  • Old, meet new!

  • I HAD TO POST THIS 3 TIMES BECAUSE MY COMPUTER KEEPS FREEZING AND DELETING MY COMMENTS. for all thouse asking who's barnaby you should know that this song is not original to the movie. although this movie was awesome to chose a ironic begining with this amazing show tune, the song is originally from the musical "Hello Dolly". You probably don't know that because of modern brainwash. I'm telling you they don't publicize this stuff any more cause all they care about is explosions and crap.

  • @CamramanidiotCIA Couldn't have said it better myself, thank-you for explaining this to the people out there that are clueless. "Hello Dolly" is one of my favorites!

  • @CamramanidiotCIA

    Praise it, man.

  • I love this opening! <3

  • barnaby....errm... barnaby bear? lol i remember barnaby bear when i was little :P

  • @432farhad123 Barnaby is a character from the musical "Hello, Dolly!" which is where this song is from.

  • Barnaby >_>

  • Who the heck is this Barnaby dude!? O_o

  • Barnaby... What the fuck ?

  • @Konamiful I could say the same thing about your icon there. <_<

  • @rainbowkirby Was this recorded out of theater cam?

  • @rainbowkirby Barnaby is the main character from "Hello Dolly" the musical the song is from.

  • @Konamiful this song is from the musical "Helly Dolly" ;) There is one person, called barnaby

  • Comment removed

  • @Konamiful The song's from a movie, I think, called "Hello Dolly". It's a name of one of the characters.

  • @Konamiful it's from a musical; its called hello dolly; the singer is talking to his friend

  • @Konamiful is a name

  • @Konamiful Someone needs to see Hello, Dolly!....

  • @Konamiful watch...the...musical...

  • @Konamiful It's a character from Hello, Dolly!...

  • @Konamiful This song is from a Play back in the 1960's and one of the actors name was Barnaby so yeah...

  • @SolidSnake2231 finally someone with a brain

  • @Konamiful its from hello dolly

  • @Konamiful go watch hello dolly.

  • BBBBAAAAAASSSSSTTTTTAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!NN NE POSSO PIU

  • 0:00 BEGINNINGI KEEP REWINDING THERE I LIKE IT!

  • @wizard101emily Ditto.

  • barnaby?

  • @fatmcnugget Uh its bartleby xD!

  • @wizard101emily oh... what does that mean?

  • Look at that 70s zoom on Earth, that's properly old school

  • My daughter LOVES LOVES LOVES this movie and always tries to sing this song!.. lol

  • Wall-E is my favourite Disney movie!

  • love this song

  • i really like wall-e no doubt but i like up more =]

  • Hahaha love Wall-E, though it makes me laugh because the man who sings this song is Michael Crawford. The same man who played the original Erik in the 1986 London Production fo Phantom of the Opera :D

  • Bartaby was a character in the movie/show "Hello, Dolly" In which this song was originally from..

  • what te hell dose bartaby mean!?!?! plus the earth dose look like an egg X3

  • OMG when i saw wallie i cried at the end so if u haven't seen GO SEEE IT IT IS SO FUDGIN AWESOME and i love sunday clothes i really regret not trying out when my school had the musical hello dolly i regret it

  • I just LUV dis song!!!!

  • i agree with u Kinggamer777 we are so tiny in this HUGE UNIVERSE. Think about all the thing yet to discover in the future. I won't come home intill i kiss a girl! :)

  • I think that this is a Disney movie that all ages can love, it's just so awesome!

  • "And we won't come home until we've kissed a girl!"

    Subtlety is awesome.

  • i loooooove that song soooooo much!!

  • man what a great movie .... intro music and scenes r very great..... good job pixar

    WALL-E

  • Man I love the movie Hello Dolly it's full of dancing and singing and LOVE <3

  • omg i love this movie and this song

  • wall-e is one of the most awesome movies i've seen in my whole life.

  • i wish you included about a minute or so after that, because those scenes, the shots of the wasteland were incredible. it was so "sci-fi" in the likes of Blade Runner and 2001. then it gets silly towards the end lol, but yeah those opening scenes were incredible.

  • To "bypassomega" Yonkers is a town in New York. They are singing about going to Manhattan in the big city. It was a dream for many way back when.

  • ahh man ive seen every pixar movie since my 5th birthday party at toy story. Wall-e was my 2nd favorite pixar film but Up has taken that spot, but it doesn't make this, or any pixar movie, any less amazing!

  • theres a world outside of yonkers?

  • When I saw the tv spot of this movie, I wa like " Oh boy, another baby film from disney".

I really hated this movie #cause every person was talking 'bout it.

Someday, I was at a friends house, he really annoied me to watch this movie.

He made a bet with me, if I liked it, he would have gained 20 bucks from me.

If not, same would go for me.

result: 30 bucks to live for a week -.-

  • how did u not like walle it was the best movie ever

  • what song is this,

isnt it old like from another disney movie?

  • its called put on your Sunday clothes from hello dolly written by Micheal Crawford

  • I never wanted to see this film. A friend of mine dragged me to the theatre because she wanted to see this film so badly.

As soon as this scene began I knew I would love this film. And I still do.

  • That's how I saw the film, kinda. I wasn't interested at first, but since my sister was paying, I figured, "Eh, why not". Of course, as a result I totally love this movie.

  • Wall-E was a good movie because of the limited human interaction in this film. For once the movie carried itself with its story, characters, and great animation...unlike other CGI movies where the actors are the real hype behind the movie rather than the movie iteself, ala ice age and madagascar. I am sick of all the CGI movies that have too many famous actors doing the voices. It just doesn't do anything for me whatsoever. WALL-E RULES!!!

  • Thank you everyone for over 35,000 views! I never would have thought any of my videos would have been like this. Although... It IS WALL-E... Hehe. =D

  • Thats all little (Mind you, LITTLE) like Fallout.

  • Diese verschissene Zitate verscheissen das Video.

  • And we won't come home until we kiss a girl!

    Love it.

  • I don't know much about Fallout, but to me Wall-E does seem to be inspired by the 80s film Short Circuit. It was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the robot.

  • Me, too! I loved that movie. I kept expecting Wall-E to do Number Five's "No disassemble" line.

  • dont downvote flipper778, hes actualy right, bt Fallout 3 was an awesome game, and it was a compliment.

  • lol theres trash covering renewable energy

  • this movie was kinda creepy for a pixar movie, it slightly reminds me of fallout 3

  • lol, well it WAS the darkest pixar film ever made, but i don't think it was creepy... maybe just the part where the fat people hold hands...

  • hey man, I'm a huge fan of fallout, but pixar claimed they had this idea before toy story at their conference. Bethesda Softwork's fallout was 1997.

  • Just thought I'd let you know . . . fallout was originally made by black isle studios not bethesda :D just to let you know. Knowings half the battle you know

  • Seriously just a typo, I knew that, You wouldn't believe how disappointed when Van Buren was cancelled.

  • Yep, it's true. Andrew Stanton explored the post-apocalyptic theme before Fallout was made. :)

    Still, it's completely unrelated.

  • my momma's name is eve.

    bahaha.

    :)

  • cool, my cousin's friend's name is eve.

  • The opening blew me away...I immediately recognized this tune--which I hadn't heard in YEARS! A very clever, ironic, and captivating use of film music!

  • Beautiful and just perfectly fitting. The opening of the song just seems like it's suited for outer space. Love this song and love the movie. I <3 Eve! :D

  • wat is the 6:00 suppost 2 mean?

  • Thank you Michael Crawford as well for making a great Cornelius Hackle and giving WALL-E a bit more emotion! To bad the Pixar guys thanked everybody but didn't mention a word about you when they won the Golden Globe. I love WALL-E but if it wasn't for hearing about MCs Hello Dolly clips being used in the film I might have waited for a DVD release and missed a great movie experience!

  • leave it to disney to take a showtune and put it into an animated movie and make it work brilliantly :)

  • Damn right. They have come a long way since the sexual imagery, lol.

  • This opening was so clever, and I loved it. Thank you very much Andrew Stanton!

  • Thank you for the download link!

  • and we won't come home until we kissed a girl.... enough said.

  • probably the best movie soundtrack

  • Most movies don't open quite as dramatically. With this one, as soon as the movie begins, the orchestra jumps right in and the lyrics begin. It's a very shocking grabber, and it keeps you interested. Probably one of the best movie openings I've ever seen, no joke about that.

  • I TOTALLY AGREE! Beautifully put, well done

  • When I took my nephew to this, I instantly recognized the song and couldn't believe what I was hearing (or seeing). Definitely, one of the best movie openings ever!!

  • @zelakzanai

This and Dog Days afternoon has the best intros ever.

  • the download link doesnt work =-(

i love this movie and song though.

  • That opening scene still gives me pause.

  • This scene was awesome to start the movie!

  • ): I wish that url worked on the side I loveeee that song

  • WALL-E deserves Best Picture Oscar. Audience did indeed love the movie. Young children will love the cuteness, and adults and young teen will be touched by the allegorial story.

  • This is actually a very good movie. At first I thought this would be another boring kids movie but it actually very thought-provoking and makes us more aware of our planet! I also love this song from Hello Dolly!

  • Dats Pixar 4 ya. ;)

  • I love Pixar and Wall-e. Not only is the animation beautiful, but also the story. It seems that Pixar is only getting better and better. I don't really see why people find it boring, though. It's not like it's a five hour documentary on the migration of the water beetle!

  • does anyone know where i could get the instrumentle version of this song? it wasnt on itunes...

  • I love the beginning of this movie. Isn't pixar amazing?

  • I Download The Movie In Grabboid Movie!

  • amazing movie <3

    best pixar movie to date

  • Great movie. It was really moving.

  • i really think this is one of the more memorable opening sequences in film history. brilliant. ironic. so well done.

  • Never!

  • i cant believe wall e's opening song is from hello dolly! holy kabozes!

  • i cant believe you havent been arrested cause when u posted this the movie wasnt out on dvd so dont come crying to me when ur crying in a cell corner

  • But he/she hasn't posted the full movie.

  • They wouldn't waste their time on such a short clip on the non-copyable YouTube. Why would be come crying to you anyway?

  • There are websites that let you steal videos from youtube.

  • What about it?

  • i was replying to a comment a few pages back. It's strange: sometimes youtube will connect replies to the original comment, and sometimes the reply is just put at the top of the comments, which is what happened this time.

  • Does anyone else find this scene really eerie? Coz the song's all cheery and there's all the rubbish and stuff everywhere.

    Great intro!

  • its sarcastic music dude the best kind there is! :P

  • More like ironic

  • the movie has a very 'green' message - in the form of false optimism and hypothetical outcomes.

  • TV Tropes calls it "Soundtrack Dissonance."

  • Hmmm... slightly eerie, esp as the song fades out. I liked the attention to detail this movie has... lots of interesting things lying half-buried in the wasteland that Earth has become. It lifts a vibe from some of the better post-apocalyptic films, such as Omega Man, and captures it even though the Earth was simply deserted due to overcrowding and overwhelming trash, not some sort of pandemic or nuclear exchange.

  • I agree, it's kind of prophetic as well, as it relates to the Book of Revelations. Before the world is supposed to end, there will be one mass provider for everything, in this it's BnL.

  • I love this song and I love Michael Crawford. I loved how they used Michaels part of the song from Hello Dolly in WALL-E(which I love to!). It was great hearing a very young and innocent sounding MC before he developed his wonderful mature voice and became legendary as the originator of the Phantom Of The Opera character on stage! Great video!!!

  • omg i just saw this movie and i cant stop singing that song

  • I loved this movie.

Eve was Epic Win and Wall-E made me cry at the end ...

  • the best sci-fi opening in history for me

  • friggin awesomethanks for posting

  • i loved the part at 0:14-15 i know its weird and its not entirely because of the part in the song ( although i do LOVE it! ) its just how the music matched it so well and well the movie is just wonderfully fantastic, i give the movie 2300 out of ten.

  • Surely one of the most unexpected and yet perfect openings for a film.

  • I remember when I was watching this, I was slack jawed at how brilliant this scene was... The song was so good, the animation was so good, I honestly felt like I was in the clouds.

  • Best opening scene ever!

  • COOOL!!!!

  • Oh my god! I went to see this.

and i didnt actually realise this song was gonna be it.

So when it came on i was like "Oh my god its Cornelius Hackl!"

  • This song is just soo.... BRILL. I lurrhv it !!!

  • hello dolly is a pretty good movie.

yes...being an avid space lover, i thought

    the opening scene was magnificent.

the use of an old song like that was an elegant touch

    and it all fit perfectly.
