  • BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL by france :)

  • Sing, Eric, Sing!

  • Was that a bandaid of his finger? 2:42 in to the song,

  • Eric Burdon was the Alex Turner of the 60s. I mean, Alex Turner is the Eric Burdon of the 00s...

  • @JiS01 Who?

  • Eric é il miglior vocalist che abbia mai ascoltato....

  • is it weird my favorite music nd crushes are him(eric) and trey songz?

  • @brazilianbeauty2 Yes ;)

  • This wasn't dubbed or mimed at all. I reckon that was totally live. Wow - they were truly something else again, were Eric Burdon and the Animals.

  • Loving every minute of this. Very rare.

  • I'm in love with eric....seriously......why do ppl get old!

  • Go! ANiMALS Go! x0]

  • This song is anything but easy to sing. It almost is 'a capella' and really shows what a good singer Eric is. Not one time the instruments would give him a melody in the background to lean on, but he never loses his track. Great! Absolutely awesome!

  • You don't expect a voice like that to come out of such a little man!

  • This is so awesome!!:D

  • Ohhhhhhhhhh ERIC, you got it going on baby ! Just super swingin shit there!

  • Great as always! Xxoo

  • The best male vocalist from the sixties hands down!!

  • Great voice. The bass player discovered Hendrix.

  • Eric Burdon has always been da BOMB!!! Spill the Wine!!!

  • omg theyre so adorable

  • ERIC BURDON is so frikking SEXY!

    excuse me, i'm sorry.

  • So jazzy, so good!

  • I didn't know that Animals were capable to make some good jazz!

  • So good! Eric has one of the best singing voices.

  • Eric is just the f****king best. Thanks for everything, man......... and here's hoping you keep at it. Saw you at the ABC (Australia) Studio 22 sessions a few years back.

  • Wow! This is amazing. What talent, Eric!!!

  • Wow! This is amazing. What talent, Eric!!!

  • Amazing voice!!!

    Thanks!

  • amazing voice, amazingly good looks

  • This is an unknown gem that was never released during The Animals career, but only much later on a rare compilation. My theory it was never released in its day is that the theme of sympathy for a (presumably) black criminal would have been controversial in the USA in the mid-60s

  • theonandonly

  • Hilton Valentine and the boys still rule.

  • This has to be one of the greatest versions of the Oscar Brown (?) 'Work Song' jazz standard. Correct me if I'm wrong, a rumba instead of swing?, pretty cool.

I hadn't known there was any lyrics, either.

Sammy Davis sang it...I heard..but could not find it anywhere.

    Great version...thanks.

This has changed my lifelong belief about Eric Burdon. He really was in his prime during the sixties, and when he started War, for sure. This gives me a side of him I never knew existed..

  • @kevincanwait Because Eric Burdon has such a deep voice, people don't realize what a range he had, and he could hit high notes that don't sound high because of the pitch of his voice. But try to sing along with most of his hits, and there are places where your pants will fall down if you try to hit those high notes.

  • Dave Rowberry on Rhodes! that's pretty rare footage indeed! Wish the owners put this one on ed sullivan dvd with perfect quality. (and complete!)

  • Band aid at 2:41, i've had that many'a time :) SUCKS for a keyboard player to have it!

  • *hyperventiates* GOD Eric Burdon makes me melt...

  • che bono sei Eric ::))

  • walking the shit out of that bass

  • Where did you find this gem? Burdon was and still so natural. That's jazz put in a R&B song.

  • Gua..amazing...he was not just a cutie..he was more than that ... with such voice.....

  • This kicks ass!

  • it's amazing how his sweet little face doesn't fit with that powerful deep voice. sheer perfection

  • @jimbot2007 i KNOW RIGHT!!! thts wat i was thinking too x]

  • Golden footage! The Animals doin' it all Jazzy! Also love the band-aid at 2:41!

  • my youth! how moving to watch them again! shit, I'll cry

  • So you should listen to " I am crying" from the same Magnificent rock band then you'll be allowed to shit around yourself .Long live with the ANIMALS and ultra talented Eric Burdon .

  • I am surprised this was never released on any album in US. Was this a B side or released in the UK?

  • theinfluencer, they didn't record a studio version of Work Song, though there is a great version from a BBC radio session which has been included on some CD releases. : )

  • @theinfluencer probably cus it isnt their song... original is writen by adderley

  • are they wearing yellow shirts or white?

  • chris, they are wearing special shirts which can change colour

  • thats amazing!

  • @magusmagic6 :-)

  • @magusmagic6

Yes, I know that a magical shirt... It change color when a real good musician wears it, like Eric Burdon or Ray Charles, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon... etc . Bessie Smith'd got a magical color changing dress.:)

  • @chris393s it depends... LSD...

  • @chris393s always wore yellow shirts

  • @chris393s let me clarify before somebody starts screaming--with these suits they always wore yellow

  • It's on the BBC -Files CD -1965-1968 with Alan Price playing Vox organ on an earlier version--Rocks better then this version---charlie

  • Thanks, Magus! I never saw or heard Eric and the lads perform this one before. I had a long-awaited career breakthrough today, came home to relax with a little Eric, and this video is the icing on the cake! NOTHING feels better Eric on the ears! Thanks again!

  • They are GREAT working !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they all look diferent than in other videos but it still great
