Hi. I don't know if there's more to it since I have not played Vs. mode. (requires 2 players with a DS and the game) But as for the end of this vid (which shows only the top screen) at the bottom screen you select whether you host or wait, with one of the two character's sprites representing each choice.
I did reply. The only thing that happens after is the Transmit screen at the end of this clip. (for a 2-player game) But I can't play it because I had only had one game cart.
