The economy collapsing has been coming for years. It started with Reagan and his deregulation. Fist sign was probably the savings and loan scandal. Democrats predicted these bailouts 10 years ago and Republicans did not care and kept deregulating.

Our housing and banking collapse is the result of BOTH parties blocking regulation, but I just want you to remember one thing... Credit scores were lowered so more people could get loans, that was 1999 and the NY Times warned us all...

The only reason regulation exists is because being left on their own did not work. The Clean Air Act came into place because of things like Black Mondays/Tuesdays/ people dying etc..not because Democrats wanted to run around a regulate things.

GM is moving some production overseas. And GM is considering leaving Detroit. They might move north or leave the country entirely. If I ran GM, I'd leave Detroit ASAP. The taxes are too high, and the benefits for staying are slim to none. Lastly, moving entirely overseas has been mentioned as an option at least around here.
