BMW verfolgt gänzlich andere Ziele.

Während die Nightvision von Mercedes ein schwarzweißbild darstellt, wird bei BMW eine Art Wärmebildkamera eingesetzt. Fährst du mit dem BMW z.B. durch den Wald oder einen Feldweg, so erscheint alles dunkel (nur schattierungen zu erkennen), jegliches Leben, gleich ob Mensch oder Tier wird aber sofort ins Auge stechen da Gelbweiß vom untergrund abhebend (plus Warnung der Personenerkennung bei Bedarf).

im trying to get this. I had thought they made the entire windshield light up more. That would be really cool. BUT!!! are you saying that you're driving while looking at this little screen??? NOT REALLY SAFE IF YOU ASK ME.

Or maybe you can explain this to me? Maybe I don't understand, like maybe the video is not showing things right.

The video just shows it the way it is, the windshield is not altered in any way. The little screen is all that you get, and I agree with you, it is quite annoying having to look down on it every time.

But do not forget, the concept is that you only look on it for a second or so, just as you would look on your speedo for checking the speed.
